Chapter 9 Sandworm Mark
After confirming Qin Xiaonan's identity, the sandworm controlled the Bone Spike Wolf to continue attacking just to see the human's reaction. It didn't really want to hurt the other party.

Three figures descended from the sky, landing steadily in front of Qin Xiaonan and the others. The middle-aged mage in the lead had a piercing gaze; the female mage on the left formed hand seals, a chill shrouding her body; the young mage on the right remained in a spellcasting stance, clearly having created the massive wave.

"Warrior-level demons, retreat quickly!"

"Leave this to us!"

Faced with the surging waves, the demon wolf did not dodge or evade, but took the blow head-on. Its body trembled slightly under the impact of the huge waves, but it suffered no substantial damage.

When the four ice chains wrapped around its sharp claws, the yellow sand around it released astonishing heat, and then the ice chains quickly melted under the heat wave, turning into wisps of white mist and dissipating in the air.

Blazing flames intertwined in the air, forming a nine-square grid pattern, and charged towards the Bone-Spurred Wolf with an all-consuming aura. The Bone-Spurred Wolf's body was covered in scars, yet this couldn't slow it down. Within its hollow eye sockets, a strange white light grew increasingly intense.

The Bone-Spurred Wolf suddenly stopped, its massive body trembling violently. Its ferocious face twisted and distorted, and then a horrifying scene unfolded—wisps of yellow sand seeped from beneath its fur, condensing into a strange mist in the air.

"This is..." The middle-aged wizard's pupils suddenly shrank.

A palm-sized sandworm leaped out from the back of the Bone-Spurred Wolf. Its body was golden, its surface covered in strange patterns, and its eight compound eyes gleamed with an eerie light.

With a light leap, it escaped from the body of the Bone-Spurred Wolf.

Losing control of the sandworm, the Bone-Spurred Wolf's massive body crashed to the ground, stirring up a cloud of dust. The red light in its eyes faded, leaving them empty again, like a hollow shell with its soul emptied out.

However, this was not the end. The sandworm flew towards Qin Xiaonan at an even faster speed, so fast that it was difficult to catch. The three mid-level mages were no longer able to stop it.

"Be careful!" the female mage exclaimed.

Qin Xiaonan felt a sharp pain in his arm and looked down to see the sandworm had left a small string of teeth marks on his arm. Then, a blood-red sandworm mark appeared on the back of his hand, slowly wriggling beneath his skin as if alive.

As the sandworm injected the last bit of its strength into his body, its originally golden body gradually lost its luster and turned into a lifeless gray-white.

Like an ancient lamp that has run out of oil, its eight compound eyes gradually dimmed, eventually losing their brilliance completely. The sandworm's body trembled slightly, and then, like a weathered sand sculpture, it transformed before everyone's eyes into a handful of fine sand, drifting away in the wind.

Qin Xiaonan felt his mind spinning and his consciousness was blurry. In the last moments before he passed out, he seemed to hear a hoarse voice in his mind: "I finally found you."

The three mid-level mages looked at each other, and the previous members of the monster hunting team also gathered around worriedly.

"Quick!" the middle-aged mage made a quick decision. "Contact headquarters immediately and request support. Send this young man to the hospital immediately."

The female sorceress quickly took out her communication device and began an emergency call. The other sorceresses looked around warily, fearing that other demons might appear.
