Hogwarts: Don't call me Wandmaker
Chapter 2 Golden Legend
Chapter 2 Golden Legend
"Hannah Abbott?"
Diagon Alley was even busier at the end of July. Xi Lun, who was helping to watch the shop, stuck his head out and looked at a little girl with two golden braids in front of the counter.
"I'm sorry, have we... known each other before?" Eleven-year-old Hannah subconsciously raised her head, trying to identify the little wizard who looked about the same age as her.
He was a very good-looking boy, with a fair face and some baby fat typical for his age. His hair was black and slightly curly, hanging a little messily on his forehead, as if he had just finished an exciting Quidditch game.
Without a doubt, the young clerk was the best-looking of all the men of his age Hannah had ever met.
But she didn't know the other person and had no impression of him at all.
"We didn't know each other before, but we may become classmates later. I am also a freshman at Hogwarts this year." Xi Lun said.
"As for why I know you..." He took a brown paper booklet from the side and quickly flipped through a few pages.
"Oh, I found it. Mr. Abbott had an appointment yesterday to come to the store at ten o'clock to pick out a new wand for his daughter. Am I right?"
"Yes." A tall wizard walked forward, faced Xiren, and frowned slightly.
"But I remember the owner here is Ollivander..."
"Olivander's Wand Shop, there is no doubt that my grandfather did not sell this shop." Xi Lun said half-jokingly.
Hearing Xi Lun's words, the man nodded and breathed a sigh of relief.
This time they came to buy a wand for their daughter who was about to go to Hogwarts, but when they walked into the familiar wand shop, they saw a strange wizard.
For a moment, the man even wondered if the store had been sold.
It wasn't that he was making a fuss, it was simply because in his memory, Ollivander had never hired any clerks. Whether it was making wands or selling them, he did everything himself.
It has been like this since he was in school and has continued for decades without changing.
but……
He thought again of the name the little wizard had used when he mentioned Ollivander.
"You mentioned grandfather just now?" The man looked a little curious.
"Ciarron Ollivander." Ciarron held out his hand.
"Ah... nice to meet you."
The man did not find it strange because Xilun was young, and he extended his hand in the same serious manner.
"Judging from his age, Garrick should be your grandfather. Strange, why have I never seen you before?"
"Maybe it's because few people visit the wand shop again." Xiren shrugged.
"Oh, that's right." The man suddenly realized.
Indeed, the wand shop is different from other shops. He hasn't been here for more than ten years. He came here today because his daughter is going to Hogwarts this year and needs a wand of her own.
"boom!"
Just then, a fluffy, messy head suddenly popped out from the shelf behind and almost hit another shelf.
"Mr. Ollivander?" the man asked tentatively.
"Sir..." Ollivander raised his head, "I'm terribly sorry. Please wait a moment. I'll be right there."
He was holding a dusty old box and walked quickly towards the counter, muttering under his breath:
"I found it. I knew I wouldn't be wrong. After all, it's only been ten years..."
"What did you say?" Xi Lun asked, not hearing clearly, while looking at the opened box in his hand, "Is this what you have been looking for for two days?"
[Holly, Phoenix Tail Feather, 11 inches]
【Condition: Perfect】
[Features: Courage of Justice: Black Magic -10%, White Magic +10%
Disarm: Disarm spell +20%
Twins: The same wand core gives birth to two completely different wands. When they meet, some magical changes will occur.
Xi Lun couldn't help but raise an eyebrow.
I have to say, this wand is truly magnificent. Even when brand new and unused, it possesses three distinct properties, outshining ninety-nine percent of the wands in the store. If it had a color, this holly wand would be at least Legendary Gold, a truly high-end item.
Xi Lun was a little jealous, but he knew in his heart that only one person could use this wand, no one else could.
Out of sight, out of mind, Xi Lun turned his head and stopped looking at it.
Ollivander blinked. Although he felt that Xi Lun's actions were a little puzzling, he didn't care and quickly got back to work.
"Oh, hawthorn, eleven inches, dragon's heart, isn't it? It all seems like yesterday..."
……
It was a pleasant transaction for both parties. Ten minutes later, the little witch Hannah skipped out of the wand shop with her new wand.
Ollivander recorded her name and wand data in detail in a notebook, which was a habit he had developed over the years.
Xi Lun fixed his eyes on the box.
"Is that a wand too?"
"Yes," said Ollivander, looking up.
"Is there anything special about it?" Xi Lun asked doubtfully, "It's worth digging it out of the warehouse."
"Special... you could say that." Ollivander thought for a moment and nodded, "I have a feeling the owner of this wand will be here soon."
He looked mysterious, with a hint of eager excitement in his eyes.
Xi Lun was about to ask another question when he was interrupted by a crisp ringtone.
The sound came from the bell hanging behind the door, and someone came in.
"No, Ron, we don't have the money to buy you a new wand. I think Charlie's wand is just fine."
"Good?" a boy shrieked, holding out his hands excitedly. "Look, the unicorn hair is almost showing..."
A family walked in noisily. In front was a fat witch, followed by a tall, thin man with red hair and six children in total.
There were so many children, all with red hair, and Xi Lun instantly identified their identities.
The Weasleys, and they alone, could not afford a new wand.
However, with so many people coming in, the originally small store was instantly filled up and became very crowded.
"We seem to be a bit overcrowded." The man who came with him looked around and said, "Fred, George, could you please go to the second-hand bookstore and find a set of freshman textbooks for Ron?"
"Glad to help, Dad." The same voice came from two identical twins.
They looked at each other, with a sly smirk, and turned and ran out.
As for whether they would honestly go to the second-hand store, Xi Lun estimated that it was highly unlikely.
How could the famous Weasley twins actually do anything serious?
"Dad, I want to go somewhere else too," said another man wearing horn-rimmed glasses.
"No problem, dear. Go ahead." The witch in the front turned her head. "It's a good time for you to think about what gift you want."
"I want a present too..." muttered the youngest boy.
"If you become a prefect, Ron, I'll buy you a present too."
As they were talking, several people had already walked to the counter.
"Good morning." Ollivander gave a standard professional smile.
"It's great to see you again, Molly Weasley, Arthur Weasley. How many times have we met?"
"If I remember correctly, this is the sixth time." Mr. Weasley stepped forward, "And every time you can accurately tell me and Molly's wand materials, so far you have never made a mistake."
Xi Lun noticed that his grandfather's mouth, which had just opened, suddenly closed again, as if he had swallowed something.
