Primordial Era: From Primordial Human Race to Grand Luo Immortal

Chapter 9: The Key to Breaking the Impasse – Guiding the Targeted Loan to Sainthood

Chapter 9.9. The Key to Breaking the Impasse: Guiding the Saint of Accumulated Loans
After the Tongtian Sect Leader left, Laozi smiled at Yuanshi Tianzun and said, "You dislike Tongtian Sect Leader's disciples the most, so why are you so good to Ji Yuan, casually giving him a top-grade innate spiritual treasure?"

The Primordial Celestial Venerable bluntly stated, "I dislike those who are born with fur and horns, or those who are born from eggs and moisture, but I dislike their disciples because they do not appreciate the kindness of being taught the Dharma and instead cause trouble for Tongtian."

"Ji Yuan is different. He is willing to give his sect a top-grade innate spiritual root he finds outside to suppress the luck of his sect. He is a grateful and filial person."

"And, could it be that you've also misjudged him, brother?"

Laozi was taken aback: "Did I misjudge him?"

Sages observe the heart of Heaven above and feel the hearts of people below. With a single thought, they can survey the entire primordial world, let alone Kunlun, which is as clear as the lines on the palm of their hand.

So Laozi carefully examined Ji Yuan and found that his fate was hazy and his future unknown. There was also an invisible obstacle hindering his investigation.

"This fortune, is it destiny?"

“That’s right!” said Yuanshi Tianzun.

“Heavenly fortune is bestowed by the Heavenly Way. Generally, only auspicious omens from the heavens bring such fortune, but now it has appeared on a human being.”

"Those who are born under the Heavenly Mandate do not enter the cycle of reincarnation, are not afflicted by calamities, and are not involved in karma. They are essentially no different from the children of the Heavenly Way."

"And he won't be noticed by that person."

Upon hearing this, Laozi suddenly realized: "I hadn't noticed it before, but your reminder has helped me..."

"He may be the key to breaking the deadlock for the three of us brothers."

"Then we must cover for him and not let Tongtian find out, otherwise his childlike heart might not be able to be contained."

"So good!"

……

Upon returning to the Jie Sect, Tongtian Jiaozhu began to rectify the sect's conduct. He first announced new sect rules, and then had Ji Yuan hold the Jade Void Glazed Lamp and use the Myriad Spirits Ignition Flame to investigate the karmic causes and effects of the disciples.

Those who have the will to repent will be burned by karmic fire, while those who do not will have their Shangqing Immortal Laws abolished by Ji Yuan using the Shangqing Divine Thunder and be expelled from the Jie Sect.

In fact, as a sage, how could the Tongtian Sect Leader not know which of his disciples was burdened by karma?

But education is never just about imparting knowledge and skills; it is also about teaching people principles of conduct and the bottom line for seeking truth.

Soon, it was the turn of the Three Immortals to investigate. Although Ji Yuan knew their nature, he still had to go through the motions.

Ji Yuan pinched a Daoist seal:
"My three junior sisters, please look at this fire."

The myriad spirits' blazing fire circled the Three Heavens once, emanating a tranquil and clear aura.

"good!"

Just as Ji Yuan was about to examine the next disciple, Bi Xiao grabbed his sleeve and said in a clear voice, "Senior Brother, why did I feel so good about you when I first met you?"

Before Ji Yuan could react, Yunxiao covered Bixiao's mouth and apologized, "Senior brother, I've spoiled my third sister. She speaks without thinking. Please don't take offense."

Ji Yuan waved his hand: "Junior Sister Bixiao is indeed innocent and straightforward, with a pure heart."

After speaking, Ji Yuan went to the next disciple.

Bixiao broke free from Yunxiao's hand and muttered, "I already had a good impression of her, just like how we liked to bask in the sun before we took human form, it was so comfortable."

Yunxiao raised her hand and tapped Bixiao on the forehead:
“To say such things to the senior brother in this situation is no different from flirting. After the senior brother has finished investigating the karma of all the fellow disciples, you should go and apologize to him yourself.”

Bixiao covered her forehead and reluctantly said, "Oh."

The Jie Sect was carrying out its purge of its bad practices in full swing, while in the Pure Land of Mount Sumeru...

"Senior brother, is this really going to work?"

The words of the Taoist Zhunti were full of doubt.

"It is certainly feasible."

In contrast, the guide was full of confidence.

"If it doesn't work, we can always find another way. What's there to be afraid of?"

"Let's do it!"

The next moment, a deafening roar echoed throughout the entire primordial world. "By the Heavenly Dao!"

"I will guide you!"

"I am Zhunti!"

"Feeling that the Western religion is barren and all beings are suffering, I established the Western religion to educate and enlighten all beings."

As soon as he finished speaking, two enormous pillars of merit light surged into the bodies of Jieyin Daoren and Zhunti, causing their auras to rise rapidly and a transcendent aura to shake the primordial world.

But the familiar holy might did not come; the two of them were stuck in the state of transcendence.

The Guide and the Cundi exchanged a glance and said:

"If I become a saint!"

"I wish that my country be free from evil paths. If, when I attain Buddhahood, there are hells, hungry ghosts, or animals in my country, I will not attain perfect enlightenment."

"My second vow is not to fall into evil realms. If, after I attain Buddhahood, any of the heavenly beings or humans in my land die and are reborn in the three evil realms, may I not attain perfect enlightenment."

"My third vow is to have a body of true gold. If, when I attain Buddhahood, all the heavenly beings and humans in my land are not of true gold, then I will not attain perfect enlightenment."

"..."

"The forty-sixth vow is to allow all to hear the Dharma according to their wishes. If I attain Buddhahood, the Bodhisattvas in my land will naturally hear the Dharma according to their wishes. If this is not so, I will not attain perfect enlightenment."

"The forty-seventh vow is that those who hear my name will not regress. If, when I attain Buddhahood, bodhisattvas in other lands hear my name and do not immediately attain non-retrogression, may I not attain perfect enlightenment."

"If, in my forty-eighth vow, I attain the three kinds of forbearance, and if, when I attain Buddhahood, bodhisattvas in other lands hear my name and do not immediately attain the first, second, or third forbearance, or do not immediately attain non-retrogression in the Buddha's teachings, then I will not attain perfect enlightenment."

With each grand vow made, a pillar of merit would flow into their bodies. After forty-eight grand vows were made, their merit finally reached the threshold of becoming saints.

The next moment, the vast holy might filled the heavens and earth, and endless golden light and rosy clouds swept across.

The last two of the six destined saints were determined, and with this, the primordial world fully entered the era of saints.

"We pay homage to the sage."

In the primordial world, countless beings respectfully bowed in greeting.

Meanwhile, in the Kunlun Mountains, a mocking voice rang out:

"Opportunists!"

This is the voice of Yuanshi Tianzun, who despised opportunistic people the most in his life.

The two Western Saints naturally heard the mocking words of the Primordial Celestial Venerable, but they only changed their expressions before disappearing.

Amidst the surging, blood-red waves of the Netherworld Blood Sea, the Styx Ancestor stood atop this turbulent sea, his face grim:

"I never expected that those two disgusting bastards would become saints first."

Looking at the endless sea of blood beneath his feet, the Styx Ancestor made up his mind.

"God is above!"

"I am the Styx!"

"Feeling that the world is incomplete, I have now established the Asura race to complete the primordial path of slaughter."

As Styx's voice faded, three thousand crimson beings were born from the Blood Sea: one thousand five hundred male Asuras and one thousand five hundred female Asuras. With the Blood Sea providing them with energy, they were born as Golden Immortals!

The men were all tall and strong, but ugly in appearance, while the women were all alluring and seductive.

The golden pillar of merit appeared and surged into the body of the Styx Ancestor. As soon as the merit entered his body, the Styx Ancestor's realm was raised. He had already reached the limit of the Quasi-Saint peak realm and took another step forward, but he could never cross that boundary.

So he spoke again:
"God is above!"

"I, Styx, hereby establish the Asura Cult to educate the Asura race and suppress their fortune with the Twelve-Petaled Karmic Fire Red Lotus. I beseech the Heavenly Dao to bear witness."

The next moment, more merit flew into the body of the Styx Ancestor, and his aura grew stronger again, but he still could not cross that boundary.

The Styx Ancestor's expression grew even more unpleasant.
