Chapter 355 Mission: 06-3 Wish
The devil's blood splattered along the cobblestone road from the entrance of the manor, staining the gray stone steps red.

Dante ascended the steps, swung his sword, and sent a demon flying. The whirling Rebellion dismembered it in mid-air, blood and limbs blooming above his head like a pitch-black flower. Then he reached out to grab the thief who had attacked from behind, but just in time for the reverse grip, the Rebellion's rotation abruptly stopped, and he thrust his sword forward to pierce it.

Then, Dante's muscles tensed like springs, and in the instant he regained his original shape, he flew over his head and slammed "Rebellion" and the demon skewered on the sword's tip to the ground. The silver-white sword instantly penetrated the ground, spiderweb-like cracks instantly piercing the entire stone brick, and the force even spread along the steps and onto the stone brick road.

A heavy "bang!" and the air wave carrying gravel instantly blew away several demons that surrounded them again.

Dante, panting, staggered to his feet. His bloodshot eyes were like another knife in his hand, coldly cutting the air around him.

The demons that froze in terror at his presence were then transformed by a few sharp blades into fragments that drifted through the filthy air of Limbo. A rising blood mist obscured Dante's vision. Then, another flash of light pierced the blood mist from top to bottom, slowly parting the dark red curtain.

Nero stood in the gap, with the blade in his hand retracted into the cane.

"Are you calm?" she asked.

Dante glared at her fiercely and was silent for a while before putting away his sword.

"……Absolutely not."

His tone was still fluctuating, and his rapid breathing was enough to prove that the raging anger in his heart was still burning.

"So how much do you remember?"

"A person. Or rather, a demon." Dante closed his eyes and pressed hard on his temples to suppress his throbbing veins. "I remember that guy's face. The guy who killed my mother... He pressed her on the table, ripped off her clothes, and her chest--!!!"

As he spoke, his tone became more agitated. But now there was no demon to vent his anger on, so he banged his head against the wall behind him.

—"I'll eat your heart, just like I did to that bitch with Sparta."

The words Mendes had spoken to her when she first arrived in this world suddenly flashed through Nero's mind. From those words alone, she could imagine what Mendes had done that day. She stared at Dante in silence, not saying a word.

For her, the best way to deal with such a situation was to keep silent. She walked over and gently patted Dante on the head.

Dante, with his forehead pressed against the wall and his hair covered in faded gray, raised his head and looked at Nero who was standing beside him.

With those bloodshot eyes.

"That guy, is that Mondes?"

Characteristics." Nero uttered the word concisely and clearly.

It wasn't surprising that Dante had come up with this idea so quickly. After all, Nero had hinted many times who was the one who was against his father—and Sparta. The one who was most likely to have killed his mother was naturally the same person.

"Bald..."

That should be it. The part of Mundus's human form that impressed Nero the most was his shiny, bald head.

Dante frowned and put his impressions into words one by one: "Black suit, strong, blind in one eye."

"That's right, then."

"And the wrinkles are very deep," Dante added. Hearing Nero's answer, his outward anger subsided a little: "So he still looks like this now?"

"Exactly. He's also Kyle Ryder, the president of Silver Bag Bank. I heard he's on TV a lot."

Dante closed his eyes, as if he was looking at the devil in his memory across a distant time and space.

"I remember you said you only wanted to deal with Mondes, and everything else was fine."

Then he opened his eyes and looked at Nero, his face rarely full of seriousness.

Nero shook his head slightly: "Those are not my exact words."

"Just make sure the meaning is similar, don't be ridiculous."

After recalling some of his memories, he seemed to become even more irritable. So Nero sighed and replied, "Well, I did say that. Although the content was a little different."

She reiterated her right to final interpretation.

Dante almost immediately spoke up: "Okay, take me with you."

"For revenge?"

"That's reason enough."

Dante stretched out his hand, lowered his head slightly, and clenched his fingers before his eyes. "Although I still can't remember her name, nor can I recall my life before that... but this anger, absolutely..."

"If that's the extent of your insistence, then I would advise you not to get involved in this matter."

Nero interrupted him rudely.

"Why?!"

"Because you are not enough now."

"Think I'm a burden, huh?! Let me tell you about the fight we had before—"

"Yeah, I just think you're a burden."

"--ha?!"

Nero's answer completely infuriated Dante. He drew his sword, took up his stance, and pointed it at the blonde girl in front of him: "Come on then! Let me show you what a fucking burden is!"

Facing the blade pointed in front of him, Nero asked calmly, "Have you ever thought about what will happen after killing Mendes?"

"After? Fuck after! I just want to—"

"Kill him, and you will be the strongest in both the human and demon worlds."

Nero's words seemed to have pressed the pause button on Dante, causing him to freeze in place, his aura fading.

She continued, "As the strongest person, can you guarantee that you won't be the next him?"

"I--"

Dante subconsciously wanted to answer, but his voice was stuck in his throat. After a few hoarse sounds, Dante gripped the sword tightly in his hand: "Even if it is, so what?"

"Then I will kill you."

Nero's voice was very cold, without a hint of joking: "Just like I want to kill Mendes."

The sword in Dante's hand fell little by little, and the tip of the sword gently hit the ground.

Then he scoffed. "—Ha. So what are you doing this for? Just like that damn Virgil?"

"I told you, I'm human. I'll always stand on the side of humans." Nero replied softly, "What about you? Are you human?"

Her gaze went straight into Dante's pupils.

Since his name was "Dante" and he was a descendant of the Spartan family, Nero could not allow him to discredit these two names.

She could accept Dante's romantic life, his dirty words, and even the fact that he had black hair.

But she would never accept the possibility that Dante could become a demon king.

Nor would she allow a "Dante" like that to tarnish her uncle's name.
