Chapter 31 Belisarius Kaur
Chapter 31 Belisarius Cawl
"Yeah, there are only four of us."
"Hey, I'm just being a bit of a hipster, stop being so emo."
"Let's get back to the point."
Romulus laughed and shook his head, then pulled up a chair and sat down.
"What do you think the flagship of the exploration fleet is called?"
"Steel Soul?"
"That's boring, brother."
Romulus also wanted to fill a cup.
"For us, we need you to highlight the members of the Mechanicus."
Pushing open the porthole, Ramses watched as more than a dozen shadows emerged under the starlight.
"Who else but Belisarius Cawl?"
-
Pierre de Star Sector, Little Pierre de Star System.
As ripples spread across Mandeville Point, an elaborate space fleet tore open the veil of reality.
The safety of the Sharknado Fleet's subspace navigation is commendable. Perhaps it is the experience accumulated from years of activities in the outer space where the Astronomican cannot illuminate. Even after towing a strike cruiser and a green iron lump, they are still safe and sound.
On the bridge of the Nicol, which reopened as the fleet returned to the real universe, Arthur, who had just finished a battle, was standing side by side with Tiberius at the invitation of Arthur to watch the shark.
That's right, a shark.
A great white shark that belongs to the Earth.
At least after passively entering the shark's information, this is the name displayed on Arthur's panel.
It's really amazing that in addition to his companions in the vast universe, he can actually see things from Arthur's era on a ship returning from outer space.
"You recognize it?"
Tiberus followed Arthur's gaze and looked at the great white shark in the aquarium. His long experience of fighting with it made him extremely sensitive to the sword guard beside him.
He was certain that Arthur's eyes were fixed on the shark.
This is a very strange thing, because the bridge of the Nicol is a huge aquarium, which contains countless dangerous species from the oceans of various worlds. Many soldiers invited to the bridge will be attracted by those huge and terrifying predators.
But Arthur just kept staring at the ordinary great white shark.
In this era, almost no one knows what this shark represents.
"It's from Terra."
Arthur admitted it generously, then a look of disappointment appeared on his face.
"But the ocean that nurtured it is gone."
Arthur was really sad.
Anyone who knew that the planet that was exactly like their hometown had become the Holy Terra of today would feel sad.
This is the pain of being torn apart across time and space.
Even the nuns who had always followed the angel were infected by this sadness.
"."
Tiberus looked at the person next to him, whom he should theoretically call an elder, and relaxed his palm a little helplessly. He felt an urge to wake up the old Dreadnought at home and chat with this person.
He thought he was the first person to drive a brilliant Dark Angels swordsman into autism with just a few words.
"How did you know this title?"
Tiberus stiffly changed the subject and looked for help at Kahurangi who had entered Cambridge.
"Lord of Shadows?"
Arthur also noticed his gaze.
"Ah."
"Because it once belonged to Alcas Farr."
Arkas Farr, 30k Terran-born Raven Guard Commander.
Arthur was well aware of Romulus's principle of speaking the truth, so he answered the question simply.
Then he nodded to Kahurangi who had just come to his side, and left with the nuns.
He could still understand the atmosphere. Now that the fleet had left the subspace, it was time for the internal reporting of the Sharknado. It would not be a good idea for him to stand here all the time.
"."
Kahurangi just watched his daily refreshed gift pack leave, and seeing that the other party looked depressed, he finally resisted the urge to call out to Arthur.
"Have you displeased Lord Arthur, my lord?"
".I don't know." The two looked at each other for three seconds.
"You went to their think tank again?"
"Ah."
"I still haven't learned anything."
"Ah."
Kahurangi felt ashamed at the mention of this.
The think tank named Ramses was very good at playing dumb, and he was flawless in the face of his temptations. He obviously knew a lot about the subspace, but he was vague about many details.
All I can say is that he was worthy of being a master of the subspace field of that era.
"Let's talk about the gray tax, my lord."
So said Kahurangi.
Tiberus opened the holographic image, which showed a communication from the Mechanical Ark.
"Magus Belisarius Cawl from Mars agreed to accept the tax. Secondly, the Black Templars, along with the Archmagos, sent an invitation to us and the Deathwatch to discuss a combat meeting to clear out the Dark Eldar xenos that invaded the Archmagos's warship."
"They're not Death Watch."
Kahurangi reminded gently.
Tiberus' expression remained unchanged.
"I know."
"It's the Ultramarines and the Blood Angels. There might even be Imperial Fists among those cavalrymen."
Kahurangi shared what he knew.
"more than."
Tiberus clenched his fists. The battles had been too frequent recently, so even a brief moment of relief made him feel a little uncomfortable.
He began to recall whether there was any record of such a tall, gladiatorial fellow in the Chapter's records of the Dark Angels, but he found nothing.
No, Arthur chose to learn from them through gladiatorial combat simply for the sake of becoming stronger. It was not because he liked the sport of gladiatorial combat. He was learning from the experience accumulated by the sharks over the past ten thousand years with astonishing speed and perseverance, and was quickly adapting to this era.
"Who told you this?"
Tiberus asked.
"It's those mortals."
Feeling that his words might cause some unnecessary misunderstandings, Kahurangi added.
"They haven't concealed their origins, simply using the identity of the Death Watch. They've even directly ignored the Codex and recruited the Astra Militarum as mortal auxiliaries. As you know, that kind of equipment and combat methods are impossible to conceal once they enter the Imperial field of vision."
"As for how they store such a huge amount of war machinery, I'm afraid that's not a secret we should explore."
"Ah."
Tiberus nodded in approval.
Great white sharks are surprisingly self-aware when it comes to not prying into secrets.
They, the Man-Eating Sharks, were also gifted with ancient artifacts like the Void Glaze by their Void Father. It was no big deal for these warriors, who obviously had extraordinary origins, to have something like a pocket space.
As for the Void Glaze that was stolen from the regiment.
When Tiberus thought of this, he felt a headache.
This regret soon turned into anger, driving Tiberus to turn his attention to the culprit in the mechanical ark.
These damn aliens.
"Reply, the Great White Sharks will help."
"That--"
Infected by this pale anger, Kahurangi, whose terrifying desire for killing was also awakened in the Dark Crow bloodline, sighed lightly and asked.
"Should I inform Lord Romulus?"
"of course."
P.S.: Wow, I got a side stitch from chewing raw meat recently and accidentally confused Tiberus with the Void Raven. My mistake! I just realized it today while reviewing the manuscript. I've now corrected it to the Lord of Shadows. (Although judging by their combat style, it doesn't seem like Tiberus and Shadows have any connection.)
The Void Glaze is an artifact mentioned in the official Warhammer novel Silent Hunters, which was given to the Carcharodon Chapter by the Emperor for safekeeping. It can reflect the most essential appearance of a creature after being activated (the awakening of the Raven King may be related to this?). This novel also basically established the identity of the Carcharodon as a descendant of the Terran Raven Guard. The Forsaken among them is most likely Fal, the first leader of the Raven Chapter.
Although the quality of GW's novels is terrible, if you want to get into it, I still recommend that you take a look at the novels about the Great Shark and the Minotaur Legion. Both of them are of good quality, with good settings and performances.
