Chapter 31 9ACPA

Chapter 31 9. ACPA
"Who would have thought that in one of the most prosperous areas of Night City, there is a scavenger's nest hidden. I really thought that the city center was very safe."

After getting out of the car and looking at the high-rise apartment in front of him, Oliver moved his wrist and picked up the Nova revolver.

"I stopped believing the official propaganda the moment I stepped onto the streets."

Jack was holding the Saratoga submachine gun. Compared with the slightly "small" submachine gun, his strong and broad arms made him look like an adult holding the short chopsticks used by a child to eat.

"Everyone is young once in a while."

After locking the car door, Oliver looked at Carl who was holding the Kenshin pistol: "What do you mean Carl?"

"It's on the sixth floor. Take the elevator up."

Carl, who had shared the general intelligence with Jack and Oliver on the way, said, "We have already marked the floor and room of the middleman. All we need to do is to go and deal with him with guns. It seems that he has professional hackers under his command. The information in the room has been sent to us via video. There are only four scavengers inside. Our target is still lying down. It is not his turn yet."

"Then hurry up."

They were just four scavengers. Oliver really didn't take them seriously. If these scum who only attacked civilians and lone gang members had the ability, they wouldn't have gotten to this point.
The prosthetics or weapons they carry are often the worst, only slightly better than those of ordinary people. It's not even known whether the bullets can penetrate Oliver's bulletproof vest. If time wasn't urgent, Oliver alone could take on the three of them without even taking a breath.

Even though Oliver was kicked out of the Sixth Street Gang after only a week, he had been practicing shooting, tactical moves and fighting skills with his Sixth Street Gang father since he was a child. Before he met Carl, it would have taken seven or eight scavengers to take him down. Moreover, he has completed so many missions with Jack and Carl, and he has been trained. It is not much more difficult for him to control a group of kidney-stealing gangs than to kill a chicken - although killing chickens is no longer allowed in Night City now.

Oliver was in such a situation, not to mention Jack and Carl who were the frontline fighters in the team. Any of them could easily kill everyone in a building full of scavengers, and the whole mission, just as the three of them thought, was extremely easy except for the tight time schedule. The most time spent in the process was driving the way they came, then going upstairs, and then getting rid of the scavengers and rescuing the target.

"My shooting skills seem to have improved again."

Looking at the four bodies in the room, Oliver spread his hands and opened his arms to face Karl: “How about it, give me an evaluation?”

"Three shots hit the head and one shot hit the heart. The shooting time was two seconds. The accuracy was fine. The shooting speed could be improved."

"Okay, I'll go back and watch some western Mewtwo to practice. You know what, Carl, I never realized before that those Mewtwo actually have the effect of practice."

"You were just busy watching the movie."

Carl shook his head and looked at Jack, who was checking the target next to a bed covered in filth and blood. "How is it, Jack, is the target okay? Do you want Oliver to come and take a look?"

"It's nothing. I just passed out after being given anesthesia by those kidney-removing people. The dosage might be a bit high. I may not wake up today."

After Jack checked that the target was okay, he stepped aside and let Oliver take over the follow-up processing.

Oliver walked over and saw that the brown-haired male target was unexpectedly young, only about seventeen or eighteen years old, about the same age as Carl.

"A kid who is about the same age as Carl. Oh, Carl, I didn't mean you. After all, this guy does look young. What's his name?"

"If you have a name, let me see it."

Without paying attention to Oliver's words, Karl flipped through the information and confirmed the name: "Julio, his name is Julio, and he is from Japan Street."

"Julio, it sounds like a common name. What's the situation? Why is he being targeted by a kidney transplanter at such a young age?"

Jack didn't quite understand, but Oliver checked and confirmed that Jack's previous judgment was correct and said:

"He's young and doesn't have prosthetics, so it's easier to attack him. Japan Street is close to the city center, so he probably wandered over here." "I hope he can learn a lesson from his recklessness this time."

As he said this, Jack looked at Carl.

"So what do we do next? Contact the middleman?"

"We've already contacted them. The vehicle sent by the middleman will arrive downstairs soon. When the time comes, we just need to move Julio to the back seat of the vehicle. There's nothing else for us to do next."

"Look at it this way, the real work is different. Everything is handled by the middleman, and we are only responsible for the execution."

"Yes, and then most of the money was divided up."

After expressing his opinion on Jack's somewhat naive words, Carl walked to the scavenger's computer and connected to the computer using the access bay.

He planned to look into the relevant situation to see if he could find the bases of other scavengers and take them away.

Although scavengers in today's Night City may be like cockroaches in the filth, and can never be killed, it is always better to see fewer of them.

At the very least, they should be scared to the point of peeing their pants when they hear their names.

Lines of data flowed through Carl's eyes. Apart from some disgusting records of transactions, a somewhat conspicuous file caught Carl's attention.

'This is.'

Looking at this specially marked file, Carl clicked on it, and then pictures appeared in front of his eyes.

"Jack, Oliver, come over here and take a look. I found something strange."

"weird stuff?"

After hearing Carl's words, Jack and Oliver walked over quickly, and then when they saw what Carl had produced and displayed on the computer screen, they subconsciously moved closer to see it more clearly.

"what is this?"

Jack frowned. He couldn't see this series of photos clearly because they were taken in a dim environment, but he could still tell that there was something different from the vague general shape.

"Is this some large machine?"

"Not mechanical."

Compared to Jack, Oliver, who came from the Six Street Gang, had already recognized what it was.

What he said next stunned Jack and Carl.

“This is ACPA.”
