Chapter 477 The Navy I Notified
Chapter 477 The Navy I Notified
Borsalino strolled leisurely on the deck, enjoying the sea view.
“This cruise ship is really nice,” he said slowly. “If I retire, maybe I could consider taking one of these to travel around the world.”
Time soon came to evening.
As the sun set, it dyed the sea a golden-red hue.
The Straw Hat Pirates gathered at the rooftop restaurant, ready to enjoy dinner.
The restaurant is very grand and luxurious, with crystal chandeliers, velvet tablecloths, and silver cutlery. The floor-to-ceiling windows offer a beautiful view of the sea.
"Wow, this is so high-class!" Nami exclaimed.
"A restaurant of this caliber is not something the average person can afford," Sanji commented.
Captain Karl was already waiting in the restaurant. He had arranged the best seats for the Straw Hat Pirates—a large table by the window.
"Please have a seat, everyone!" he greeted them warmly.
The Straw Hat Pirates sat down, looking forward to the upcoming dinner.
At this time, the waiter started to serve the food.
One after another, exquisite dishes were served – appetizers, soup, main courses, and desserts, each one beautifully prepared and a feast for the eyes, nose, and palate.
"Wow! So much delicious food!" Luffy's mouth was practically watering.
"Eat slowly and mind your manners," Nami reminded her.
But Luffy wouldn't listen and immediately started to devour his food.
Everyone else was also enjoying the food.
"The taste is indeed excellent," Sanji commented. "It's clear the chef is highly skilled."
“It’s a rare experience to have dinner like this on a cruise ship,” Robin said with a smile.
Outside the window, the setting sun gradually sank below the horizon, the sky changing from golden-red to purplish-red, and finally to deep blue. The stars began to twinkle in the sky.
"It's so beautiful," Nami said, looking out the window.
"Yes," Zoro remarked, a rare occurrence for him.
Dinner was a pleasant affair, with a relaxed and warm atmosphere.
Luffy ate with his mouth full of oil, Chopper fought with him for the meat on the plate, Nami and Robin elegantly savored their desserts, Zoro and Sanji bickered over some trivial matters, and Franky and Brook discussed the relationship between music and machinery.
Borsalino sat by the window, slowly eating his dinner, occasionally glancing at the night view outside.
Captain Carl stayed by their side, occasionally introducing the characteristics of each dish.
“This grilled lobster is our signature dish,” he said. “It’s made with fresh lobster caught this morning.”
“It’s really fresh,” Sanji nodded, “and the cooking method is very sophisticated.”
“Our chefs will be very happy to have your approval,” Captain Carl said with a smile.
Just then, a young man in a waiter's uniform walked into the restaurant, carrying a tray to serve food to guests at other tables.
He looked ordinary, no different from the other waiters. But as he passed the Straw Hat Pirates' table, his gaze inadvertently swept over Luffy.
Then, his body stiffened slightly.
Although it was only for a moment, his pupils clearly contracted.
The waiter continued serving food with a blank expression, but inside he was in turmoil.
"That...that straw hat and that face," he thought to himself, "Absolutely! That's Monkey D. Luffy! The Straw Hat Luffy with a bounty of 300 million Berries!"
He forced himself to stay calm and continue working. But his hands were trembling slightly.
"And those people over there, that three-sword style swordsman is Roronoa Zoro! That black-haired woman is Nico Robin! And that blonde chef... they're all members of the Straw Hat Pirates!"
This waiter was not an ordinary crew member. He was an undercover agent sent by the Navy Headquarters, codenamed "Seagull," who was specifically tasked with infiltrating various ships along this route to gather intelligence.
"I never expected to run into the Straw Hat Pirates here." He tried to steady his breathing. "I must notify headquarters immediately!"
But he cannot show any abnormality, otherwise he will be discovered.
He continued serving food, trying his best not to look at the Straw Hat Pirates' table. After finishing his round of service, he made an excuse and left the restaurant.
Arriving in the empty corridor, he quickly walked towards his room.
Upon entering the room, he immediately locked the door and retrieved a hidden box from under the bed. Inside the box was a Den Den Mushi, a communicator specifically used to contact Marine Headquarters.
He picked up the Den Den Mushi and dialed with trembling fingers.
"Click. Click"
The Den Den Mushi was connected.
"This is the headquarters intelligence department, code name?" a calm voice came from the other end.
“Seagull,” the waiter whispered, “I have urgent information to report!”
"explain."
"I've spotted the Straw Hat Pirates on the Ocean Dream!" the waiter announced. "It's confirmed to be Monkey D. Luffy himself, along with his entire crew!"
There was silence for a moment.
"you sure?"
“Absolutely certain!” the waiter said confidently. “I saw it clearly, and they were right there in the restaurant, without any disguise!”
“Understood.” The voice on the other end became serious. “Maintain surveillance, but don’t alert them. We will dispatch a fleet to your location immediately.”
“Yes!” the waiter said, “but please hurry, they may leave at any time.”
"Received. What are your coordinates?"
The waiter gave the cruise ship its exact location.
“Very good,” the other end said. “Continue monitoring, maintain communication. Reinforcements will arrive in about an hour.”
"clear!"
The call was then disconnected.
The waiter took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down.
“One hour. I have to find a way to stall them,” he muttered to himself.
He straightened his clothes, left the room, and returned to the restaurant.
The Straw Hat Pirates were still enjoying their dinner, completely unaware that danger was quietly approaching.
At this time, about thirty nautical miles from the Ocean Dream, three naval warships were patrolling.
In the command room of the warship, a naval captain is examining a nautical chart.
Suddenly, the communicator rang.
"Report! Urgent communication from headquarters!" the communications soldier shouted.
"Bring him in!" the colonel said immediately.
"Colonel Carter, this is Headquarters Intelligence Department," a voice came through the Den Den Mushi. "We've received intelligence that the Straw Hat Pirates have appeared in your vicinity!"
"What?!" Colonel Carter exclaimed in shock. "The Straw Hat Pirates? Where are they?"
"On the luxury cruise ship 'Ocean Dream'," the intelligence department voice said. "The coordinates are..."
Colonel Carter quickly marked the location on the nautical chart.
"About thirty nautical miles from us!" he calculated. "At warship speeds, it would take an hour!"
"Proceed immediately!" the intelligence department ordered. "Straw Hat Luffy's bounty of 300 million Berries makes him a crucial target we must apprehend!"
"Understood!" Colonel Carter turned to his adjutant and said, "Immediately order the entire ship to battle readiness! Target—the Straw Hat Pirates!"
"Yes!"
Alarms sounded on the three warships.
The naval soldiers sprang into action, each taking their positions. Gunners prepared their cannons, infantrymen checked their weapons, and medics prepared first-aid equipment.
"Full speed ahead!" Colonel Carter ordered.
The three warships adjusted their course and sped towards the location of the Ocean Dream. In the darkness, the warships cleaved through the waves, leaving long white contrails in their wake.
Meanwhile, in the restaurant of the Ocean Dream, dinner was nearing its end.
"I'm so full!" Luffy patted his stomach contentedly. "You ate way too much," Nami said helplessly, looking at the mountain of empty plates.
"But it's delicious!" Luffy grinned.
“It was indeed delicious.” Robin elegantly wiped his mouth. “Thank you for your hospitality, Captain Carl.”
“Not at all,” Captain Carl laughed. “It’s my pleasure to host you. Mr. Brooke’s music has brought us so much joy; this dinner is nothing.”
"Hehehe!" Brooke exclaimed happily, "Then I'm so happy!"
“However,” Captain Carl glanced at the time, “it’s already eight o’clock in the evening. Are you planning to stay overnight, or return to your own ships?”
“Let’s go back to our own ship,” Nami said. “The Thousand Sunny is still docked nearby; we can’t leave for too long.”
“Indeed,” Captain Carl nodded. “Then I’ll send someone to take you back.”
“Thank you,” Robin said.
Just then, the undercover waiter walked over.
“Captain, the galley would like to invite that chef for a tour,” he said to Captain Carl. “Our head chef would like to speak with him.”
"Oh?" Sanji's interest was piqued. "The head chef wants to see me?"
“Yes,” the waiter nodded. “He was very interested in your feedback and would like to ask for some cooking tips.”
“I’ll go take a look.” Sanji stood up.
"I want to go too!" Luffy stood up as well.
"What are you doing in the kitchen?" Nami grabbed him.
"Let's see if there's anything good to eat," Luffy said matter-of-factly.
"You just finished eating!" Nami was speechless.
"But there must be plenty of food in the kitchen," Luffy persisted.
"Never mind, never mind," Sanji waved his hand. "Let him come along, so he won't cause trouble here."
And so, Sanji and Luffy followed the waiter to the kitchen. The others rested in the dining room, waiting for their return.
The waiter led the two through the corridor to the kitchen.
“This is the kitchen,” he said. “Please come in.”
Sanji and Luffy entered the kitchen. The kitchen was large and fully equipped, and several chefs were cleaning it.
"Ah, you've arrived." The head chef, a portly man in his fifties, approached. "I heard you have a very high opinion of our cuisine?"
“Yes.” Sanji nodded. “His technique is indeed very good.”
“I’m honored to receive your recognition,” the head chef said. “I’ve heard you’re also an excellent chef?”
The two began to exchange cooking tips.
Luffy, meanwhile, looked around the kitchen, searching for something delicious.
The waiter stood at the door, ostensibly waiting, but actually observing in secret.
"Fifty minutes left." He glanced at his watch. "We have to find a way to stall for longer."
At that moment, Zoro suddenly frowned.
He sat in the restaurant, looking at the night view outside the window, and felt that something was wrong.
"What's wrong?" Borsalino noticed his expression.
“I don’t know,” Zoro said, “I just feel a little uneasy.”
"Uneasy?" Nami became alert as well. "Is there danger?"
“I can’t explain it,” Zoro shook his head. “It’s just a feeling.”
Borsalino squinted, quietly sensing his surroundings.
As a former Marine Admiral, his Observation Haki is extremely sharp. Although he doesn't sense any clear danger right now, Zoro's intuition is often very accurate.
“Perhaps we should go back to the ship,” he said slowly.
"Is that so?" Nami nodded. "Then I'll go call Luffy and Sanji."
She stood up and walked towards the kitchen.
But just then, on the cruise ship's lookout tower, the crew member on duty suddenly saw something.
"Captain!" he shouted into the walkie-talkie, "Ships sighted ahead! And three warships!"
"What?!" Captain Karl jumped up from his seat. "A warship?"
He rushed onto the deck, picked up his binoculars, and looked into the distance.
Under the moonlight, the outlines of three naval warships were clearly visible. They were approaching at full speed, their bows cleaving through the waves, splashing up white spray.
“It really is the Navy,” Captain Carl murmured. “Why are there three warships heading towards us?”
The passengers in the restaurant also noticed the commotion.
"what happened?"
"It looks like there's a naval ship?"
Why are warships here?
Hearing the commotion, Nami immediately rushed to the deck. When she saw the warship in the distance, her expression changed instantly.
"Oh no!" She turned and rushed back into the restaurant. "Zoro! Robin! It's the Marines!"
"What?!" Zoro immediately stood up.
The other Straw Hat Pirates members also became alert.
"The Navy?" Chopper said nervously. "Are they here to arrest us?"
“Very likely,” Robin analyzed calmly. “The simultaneous appearance of three warships, heading straight for us, is no coincidence.”
"But how did they know we were here?" Franky wondered.
"No matter what, let's leave first!" Nami decided.
She rushed to the kitchen, pushed open the door, and cried, "Luffy! Sanji! We have to go!"
"Huh? Why?" Luffy was eating the snacks the chef had given him.
"The Navy is here!" Nami exclaimed.
"What?!" Luffy and Sanji both became alert.
"How many?" Sanji asked.
“Three warships!” Nami exclaimed. “They’re getting closer!”
"Then let's hurry back to the ship!" Luffy said.
The three rushed out of the kitchen and joined the others.
Captain Carl then realized what was happening.
"So, the Navy came for you guys," he said, looking at the Straw Hat Pirates.
“I’m sorry to have troubled you,” Robin said politely. “We’ll be leaving now.”
“No,” Captain Carl shook his head, “I don’t mean to blame you. I just didn’t expect to get involved in something like this.”
"Let's go right away!" Luffy said. "We won't drag you down with us!"
The Straw Hat Pirates rushed to the ship's side, preparing to return to the Thousand Sunny.
But then, the undercover waiter suddenly shouted, "Wait!"
Everyone turned to look at him.
"You...you're the Straw Hat Pirates, right?" the waiter said. "The Marines are here to arrest you!"
"How did you know?" Nami looked at him warily.
The waiter realized he had let something slip and his expression changed.
“Because…” He hesitated for a moment, then finally said, “Because I was the one who notified the Navy.”
