Chapter 463 Controlling Everyone's Fate

Chapter 463 Controlling Everyone's Fate

"Now, I give you two choices!" The voice echoed through the sky. "First, submit to me and become part of the new order. Second, rebel, and be swallowed by eternal darkness!"

You only have ten minutes to consider!

The dark clouds stopped advancing, seemingly waiting for a response from Dawn Town.

"Damn it!" Luffy clenched his fist. "Threatening people like this!"

“Calm down, Luffy.” Borsalino pressed down on his shoulder. “Now is not the time.”

"When shall we make our move?" Zoro had already placed his hand on the hilt of his sword.

“Let me go talk to him first,” Borsalino said. “Perhaps there’s still a possibility of a peaceful resolution.”

"Are you going alone?" Nami asked worriedly.

“Don’t worry,” Borsalino said slowly. “I’m fast enough to retreat immediately if there’s danger. And,” his body began to glow, “my ability happens to be the bane of darkness.”

After saying that, Borsalino transformed into a golden ray of light and flew towards the dark cloud.

A golden streak of light flashed through the air as Borsalino reached the edge of the dark clouds at the speed of light. When he stopped, he radiated a dazzling golden light, standing out starkly against the darkness.

"Oh?" A surprised voice came from within the dark clouds. "Someone actually dares to come looking for me alone?"

The dark clouds began to churn, gradually coalescing into a human shape. It was a tall, middle-aged man dressed in a long black robe, his entire body shrouded in darkness. His face was sharply defined, his eyes cold and ambitious, and he exuded an unsettling aura of power.

“You are Damon Darkstone?” Borsalino said slowly.

“That’s right.” Damon sized up the glowing stranger. “And who are you? You’re not from Lavala.”

“My name is Borsalino, a traveler from the lower realms,” Borsalino introduced himself. “I heard you were causing trouble here, so I came to check it out.”

"The lower realm?" A flicker of surprise crossed Damon's eyes, but it quickly turned to disdain. "An outsider dares to interfere in my affairs?"

“I’m here to negotiate,” Borsalino said calmly. “Stop your expansion, abandon your threat to Dawntown, and return to Stone Valley. It will be better for everyone.”

“Negotiation?” Damon sneered. “Who do you think you are? What gives you the right to order me around?”

“I’m not ordering you, I’m suggesting something,” Borsalino said, his tone still gentle. “Your power, however great, doesn’t mean you can do whatever you want. Lavala needs peace, not war.”

“Peace?” Damon’s voice was filled with sarcasm. “Those corrupt elders have ruled Lavala for centuries, yet they’ve kept the people living in outdated customs and practices! I will establish a new order and make Lavala truly powerful!”

“An order built on fear and violence will not last,” Borsalino said. “Blinding those warriors and occupying Stone Valley is not strength, it is tyranny.”

“You don’t understand!” Damon said angrily. “I possess power bestowed by God; I am the new God! Everyone should submit to me!”

"It seems the negotiations have failed," Borsalino sighed. "What a pity."

"Since you won't listen to reason, you'll have to suffer the consequences." Damon's body began to emanate a dense darkness. "Then stay in the darkness forever!"

"Dark Tide!"

A vast darkness surged toward Borsalino like a tidal wave, attempting to engulf him completely. This darkness was not merely visual; it was a tangible substance capable of devouring everything it touched.

But Borsalino simply raised one finger.

"An eight-foot mirror."

A laser beam shot from his fingertip, tracing a golden path through the darkness. Wherever the laser passed, the darkness was instantly dispelled, creating a channel of light.

"What?!" Damon was shocked. His darkness had been dispelled so easily!
“It seems you don’t know,” Borsalino said slowly. “I ate the Glint-Glint Fruit, which grants me the power of light. And light happens to be the natural enemy of darkness.”

“Impossible!” Damon refused to believe it. “My darkness can devour everything!”

“Let’s give it a try.” Borsalino’s body began to emit an even stronger light. “Flash—All-around Illumination!”

A blinding light erupted from Borsalino, like a small sun burning in the sky. The intense light shone on the dark clouds, causing them to melt, like ice and snow meeting the blazing sun.

"Ah—!" Damon cried out in agony. His dark power was being steadily defeated by the light.

In the town square of Dawn, people were stunned by what they saw in the sky.

“That golden light,” the mayor murmured. “It’s too dazzling!”

"Uncle Kizaru is amazing!" Chopper shouted excitedly. "His light dispelled the darkness!"

“This is the principle of the rock-paper-scissors relationship between Logia-type abilities,” Robin explained. “Light and darkness are inherently opposing forces.”

"But the battle isn't over yet." Zoro looked warily at the sky. "That Damon probably has another trick up his sleeve."

Sure enough, Damon did not fall under the intense light. His body transformed into pure darkness, spreading outwards to avoid the direct rays of light.

“I admit you are strong,” Damon’s voice came from all directions. “But darkness is everywhere! Where there is light, there will be shadow!”

"Darkness: The Cage of Shadows!"

Borsalino suddenly noticed that the shadow beneath him was beginning to twist and twitch abnormally. The shadow suddenly stretched and deformed, transforming into black chains that attempted to bind his limbs.

"Oh? Using shadows to attack?" Borsalino was somewhat surprised. "That's a clever tactic."

But he didn't panic. His body transformed into light again, instantly teleporting to another location. The black chains missed their target.

“Unfortunately, light has no shadow,” Borsalino said with a laugh. “Or rather, when I transform into light, shadows cannot keep up with my speed.”

"Damn it!" Damon roared in fury. He concentrated all his dark power, creating a massive black hole in the air. "Since I can't catch you with my shadow, I'll devour you with absolute darkness!"

"Darkness... Endless Abyss!"

The enormous black hole began to spin, generating a powerful gravitational pull. The surrounding air, clouds, and even light were sucked into it. This was Damon's most powerful move, which he had used to defeat Lavala's elite forces.

Borsalino felt his body being pulled by the attraction, but he maintained a calm expression.

“That’s certainly a powerful move,” he commented. “But it’s not enough.”

"The Eight-Foot Jade Ornament!"

Borsalino crossed his arms over his chest, unleashing countless laser beams from his body. The dense beams rained down on the black hole, each carrying immense energy.

The laser collided with the black hole, producing a deafening roar. Light and darkness engaged in a fierce battle in the air, and the resulting energy fluctuations shocked the people below.

"That's incredible!" Karen exclaimed. "Is this the true power of a Devil Fruit user?"

“Uncle Kizaru hasn’t even used his full strength yet,” Luffy said seriously. “He’s much stronger than that.”

The battle in the sky intensified. Damon struggled to maintain the black hole, but Borsalino's lasers continued relentlessly. Gradually, the light began to overwhelm the darkness. "No, impossible," Damon stammered in disbelief. "How could my darkness lose to the light?"

“Every power has its limits,” Borsalino said. “And you don’t have a deep enough understanding of your own abilities.”

He raised his right leg, and a powerful light gathered around it.

"Light speed kick."

A golden light streaked across the sky, striking Damon's body at unimaginable speed. The immense impact jolted Damon out of darkness, sending him flying hundreds of meters.

"Ah—!" Damon screamed as he fell.

But Borsalino didn't let him fall; instead, he transformed into a beam of light and chased after him, kicking him again in mid-air. One kick, two kicks, three kicks—the rapid, light-speed kicks left Damon utterly defenseless.

With his final blow, Borsalino unleashed his strongest attack in mid-air, slamming Damon violently into the ground.

"boom!"

Damon crashed into an open area outside Dawntown, creating a huge crater. Dust billowed up, and when it cleared, Damon was found lying unconscious at the bottom of the crater. The surrounding darkness completely dissipated, and the sky brightened once more.

“It’s over.” Borsalino slowly descended to the edge of the crater.

"We won!" A roar of cheers erupted in Dawn Town.

"Uncle Kizaru won!" Chopper jumped up excitedly.

The Straw Hat Pirates and Karen's crew quickly arrived at the scene of the battle. Damon lay at the bottom of the crater, wounded in several places, but still alive.

“Well done.” Zoro looked at Borsalino. “Clean and efficient.”

"It's alright," Borsalino said modestly. "Mainly because of the elemental advantage, I had an edge."

"Tie him up quickly!" Karen ordered his warriors.

The warriors took out specially made ropes and bound the unconscious Damon tightly. This time, they also added pumice powder to the ropes to prevent Damon from using his dark abilities to escape.

“He won’t wake up anytime soon,” Borsalino said. “My kick caused him considerable damage.”

“That’s great.” Karen breathed a sigh of relief. “We can safely escort him back to Lavala.”

Just then, a commotion arose in the distance. The residents of Stone Valley Town, having heard the news of Damon's defeat, rushed over.

"Damon was defeated?"

"Really? That terrifying Lord of Darkness has been defeated?"

"We are free!"

The residents' eyes were filled with complex emotions when they saw Damon bound. There was relief, anger, and sadness.

An old man stepped forward and bowed deeply to Borsalino.

“Thank you, brave stranger.” The old man’s voice trembled. “You have liberated us.”

“You’re welcome,” Borsalino said. “I just did what I had to do.”

“For the three years Damon ruled Stone Valley, we lived in fear,” the old man continued. “He forced us to worship him, and those who disobeyed were punished. Now it’s finally over.”

“Don’t worry,” Karen said. “He will receive the judgment he deserves.”

About half an hour later, Damon woke up. He found himself tied up and surrounded by people, and immediately understood his situation.

“I lost,” he said with a wry smile. “How ironic.”

“Damon.” Borsalino crouched down to look him in the eye. “I have some questions for you.”

“Ask away.” Damon had resigned himself to his fate. “I can’t escape it anyway.”

"Where did you get your Devil Fruit from?" This was Borsalino's biggest concern.

“Devil Fruit?” Damon repeated the word. “That name is quite fitting.”

"You don't know it's called a Devil Fruit?" Robin walked over as well.

“I don’t know its official name,” Damon said. “All I know is that one day three years ago, I found a strange fruit at my home in Stone Valley.”

"Appeared suddenly?" Franky asked in surprise.

“Yes, it appeared out of thin air,” Damon recalled. “I woke up that morning to find a black fruit on the bedside table. It had strange spiral patterns on it and looked very tempting.”

"You just ate it?" Chopper asked.

“I thought it might be a gift from God,” Damon said. “After all, I’d never seen this kind of fruit in Lavala before. So I took a bite.”

“Then he gained the power of darkness,” Borsalino continued.

“That’s right.” Damon nodded. “At that moment, I felt an unprecedented power surge into my body. I could control darkness, devour light, and plunge people into eternal darkness.”

"This power has made you arrogant," Zoro said coldly.

“Perhaps.” Damon didn’t refute. “When you suddenly possess this superhuman power, it’s hard not to become arrogant. I felt like I was the chosen one, destined to change Lavala.”

“But you’ve chosen the wrong path,” Robin said. “To rule with fear, not to be guided by wisdom.”

“What’s the point of saying all this now?” Damon said with a wry smile. “I’ve already failed.”

Borsalino and Robin exchanged a glance, both understanding the truth behind the existence of Devil Fruits.

“It seems a Devil Fruit user died near Lavala,” Robin whispered to Borsalino. “Based on the properties of Devil Fruits, when a user dies, the fruit regenerates nearby.”

“Over the past eight hundred years, certainly some powerful individuals have passed through this sea,” Borsalino nodded. “Perhaps they perished in a shipwreck, or perhaps they died for other reasons. In any case, the Dark-Dark Fruit just happened to be reborn in Lavala.”

“And Damon just happened to find it,” Robin exclaimed. “It’s truly a twist of fate.”

“Any other questions?” Damon asked.

"What is your purpose in researching changes to the distribution of pumice?" Karen questioned.

“To control the altitude of the entire Lavala Island,” Damon confessed. “If I can control the island's rise and fall, I can truly control everyone's fate.”
