Chapter 445 He can do everything!
The Crystal Harbor naval base is a formidable fortress, built on the highest point of the harbor, overlooking the entire bay. The base's prison is renowned for its impregnability; it is said that no one has ever successfully escaped.

"Welcome to Crystal Harbor Naval Base." Vice Admiral Bronson personally greeted them at the base entrance. "I never expected the legendary Straw Hat Pirates to be captured so easily."

“We surrendered on our own,” Luffy corrected. “We weren’t captured.”

"Surrender?" Vice Admiral Bronson sneered. "Pirates surrendering to the Navy, that's a novelty."

"Because we don't want to hurt innocent people," Luffy said earnestly. "Including you Marines."

Vice Admiral Bronson was taken aback by Luffy's words. In all his years as a Marine, this was the first time he'd ever heard a pirate say they didn't want to harm Marines.

“An interesting idea.” He regained his composure. “But it won’t change your situation.”

“We know,” Borsalino said calmly. “Please proceed according to procedure.”

“Very good.” Lieutenant General Bronson nodded in satisfaction. “Put them in separate cells and keep them under close guard.”

The prison's facilities were indeed very advanced. Each cell was built with seastone and had its own independent monitoring system. The Straw Hat Pirates members were separated into different cells, each with their own dedicated guard.

Borsalino was imprisoned in a solitary confinement cell at the deepest level. Although he had lost his Devil Fruit powers, his physical abilities still far surpassed those of ordinary people. He carefully observed the structure of the cell, searching for a possible escape route.

“The purity of the sea stone is very high,” he muttered to himself. “And the wall is very thick; it won’t be easy to break through by force.”

In the next cell, Luffy was chatting with the guard.

"Uncle, how's the food in your prison?" Luffy asked innocently.

"It's alright, I guess." The guard seemed a little bewildered. "Why did you ask that?"

"Because I get hungry easily," Luffy said with a laugh. "If the food isn't good, I might starve to death very quickly."

"Don't worry, you won't starve to death," the guard said, half-laughing and half-crying.

Meanwhile, Nami was studying the cell's locking system. Despite being imprisoned, her thieving skills remained sharp.

“This lock is very complex,” she muttered softly. “But it’s not impossible to crack.”

Zoro closed his eyes to rest and conserve his energy. Sanji observed the guards' shift changes. Robin silently analyzed the layout of the entire base. Everyone was making their own preparations for escape.

Time passed slowly, and in the evening, Lieutenant General Bronson arrived at the prison.

"A warship will come to pick you up and take you to Impel Down tomorrow," he told the Straw Hat Pirates. "Enjoy your last night here."

"Imperial City?" Luffy frowned. "What kind of place is that?"

"The World Government's underwater prison," Lieutenant Admiral Bronson sneered. "Easy to get in, hard to get out."

“That doesn’t sound like a good place,” Borsalino said slowly.

“Of course not,” Lieutenant General Bronson said smugly. “The world’s most dangerous criminals are held there.”

Just then, the sound of car engines suddenly came from outside the base. A convoy of luxury vehicles stopped at the base entrance.

"The chairman is here!" a soldier ran in to report.

"The chairman?" Lieutenant General Bronson asked, puzzled. "Which chairman?"

“Chairman Alex of the Valentine family!” the soldier replied. “He requests to see you!”

“Alex Valentine?” Lieutenant General Brunson frowned. “What’s he doing here?”

Soon, Alex entered the base accompanied by Thomas and Irene. Their expressions were serious, clearly indicating they were there for the Straw Hat Pirates.

“Vice Admiral Brunson,” Alex stated bluntly. “I demand the release of the Straw Hat Pirates.”

"What?!" Lieutenant General Bronson exclaimed in shock. "What are you saying?"

“They are our family’s saviors,” Thomas said firmly. “I cannot let my benefactors get hurt.”

"But they're pirates!" Vice Admiral Bronson exclaimed in disbelief. "And not just any pirates, but major ones with very high bounties!"

“I don’t care who they are,” Eileen said, tears welling in her eyes. “They saved our lives, and that’s enough.”

“Mr. Valentine, you should think this through,” Lieutenant General Bronson said sternly. “Harboring pirates is a serious crime.”

“I know the consequences.” Alex stood firm. “But the Valentine family never forgets a debt of gratitude.”

The Straw Hat Pirates were deeply moved upon hearing this news. They hadn't expected the Valentine Family to take such a huge risk to protect them.

“Thomas, Irene…” Nami cried, moved to tears. “Why did you do this?”

“Because you are our friends!” Thomas shouted. “When friends are in trouble, of course we should help!”

“And you saved us, now it’s our turn to save you!” Eileen said firmly.

“No!” Lieutenant General Bronson refused resolutely. “I cannot release them! That would be a violation of military orders!”

“Well then,” Alex produced a document, “you should recognize this, shouldn’t you?”

Lieutenant General Bronson took the document and his face instantly turned pale. It was a special permit from the World Government, authorizing the Valentine family to bail out criminals under certain circumstances.

“How…how is this possible?” Lieutenant General Bronson said, trembling. “How could you have something like this?”

“The Valentine family is not only a crystal trading company, but also an important partner of the World Government,” Alex stated proudly. “We provide the highest quality crystal ornaments to the Celestial Dragons.”

"A Celestial Dragon Noble?!" Lieutenant General Bronson was even more shocked.

“Yes.” Alex nodded. “So the World Government has given us some special privileges, including the right to bail out criminals in emergency situations.”

Lieutenant General Bronson examined the document carefully and found it to be genuine. It bore the official seal of the World Government, and the terms were clearly stated.

“Even so…” He still hesitated. “The Straw Hat Pirates aren’t ordinary criminals.”

“The document states that we can bail out any criminal as long as we’re willing to take full responsibility,” Thomas said, pointing to the document. “Including pirates.”

“And we guarantee that they will not do anything illegal during their bail period,” Erin added.

Vice Admiral Bronson was caught in a dilemma. On the one hand, he had to carry out the order to capture the pirates; on the other hand, he could not disobey the World Government's special permission.

“Lieutenant General,” Alex’s tone became more serious. “You should be well aware of the Valentine family’s influence in Crystal Harbor. If you refuse our reasonable demands…”

The threat in those words was obvious. The Valentine family is not only wealthy but also politically influential. If a confrontation were to occur, Lieutenant General Brunson would certainly suffer losses.

“I need to consult my superiors,” Lieutenant General Brunson finally said.

“Go ahead,” Alex replied calmly. “But remember, time waits for no one. If the warships come to pick us up tomorrow, it will be too late.” Vice Admiral Bronson hurriedly left to contact Naval Headquarters. The Valentine family remained at the base awaiting news.

Inside the cell, the Straw Hat Pirates heard the conversation outside.

"I never expected Thomas and the others to actually come to our rescue," Sanji said, deeply moved.

"And it has such a huge influence." Zoro was also somewhat surprised.

“A partner of the Celestial Dragons,” Robin mused. “That identity is indeed very useful.”

“In any case, it’s always a good thing that someone is willing to help us,” Borsalino said. “But we also need to be prepared for other things.”

"Other preparations?" Chopper asked, puzzled.

“If bail fails, we still need to find a way to escape,” Borsalino explained. “We can’t put all our hopes on others.”

“That’s right.” Luffy nodded. “We must rely on our own strength!”

An hour later, Lieutenant General Brunson returned, looking very grim.

"What did Naval Headquarters say?" Alex asked.

“They…they agreed,” Lieutenant General Bronson said reluctantly. “But on conditions.”

"What are the conditions?" Thomas asked eagerly.

"First, the Valentine family must bear full responsibility. If the Straw Hat Pirates commit a crime while on bail, you will be held fully accountable."

“No problem.” Alex agreed without hesitation.

"Secondly, the bail period is only one month. After one month, you must hand him over no matter what."

“One month…” Thomas hesitated for a moment, but then nodded. “Okay.”

"Third, the Straw Hat Pirates cannot leave Crystal Harbor during their bail period."

“This…” Eileen hesitated.

“We agree,” Borsalino’s voice came from the cell. “These conditions are all reasonable.”

“Mr. Borsalino?” Thomas exclaimed in surprise.

“Thank you for taking such a big risk for us,” Borsalino said sincerely. “We will never let you down.”

“Alright,” Lieutenant General Bronson said reluctantly. “I’ll arrange the release procedures right away.”

Half an hour later, the Straw Hat Pirates regained their freedom. Although they were still wearing surveillance equipment, at least they no longer had to stay in their cells.

"It feels so good to be free!" Luffy stretched out a big yawn.

“Thank you,” Nami said to the Valentine family, tears welling in her eyes. “We truly don’t know how to repay you.”

“No need for repayment.” Thomas waved his hand. “Friends don’t need those.”

“Yes,” Eileen said with a smile. “We’re happy to be able to help you.”

“So now,” Alex looked at them, “where are you planning to stay?”

“We have a place to stay,” Borsalino said.

“No!” Thomas objected firmly. “You must live in our house!”

"Why?" Zoro asked, puzzled.

“Because we are your bailers,” Eileen explained. “We must ensure your safety and that you don’t run away.”

“I see.” Robin nodded in understanding. “That’s certainly how it should be.”

And so, the Straw Hat Pirates arrived once again at the Valentine family's luxurious estate. However, this time, their identities were more complicated—they were both guests and released convicts.

"Although I've gained temporary freedom," Borsalino said, watching the sunset over Crystal Harbor, "I'll still have to face reality in a month."

“One month,” Nami said worriedly. “Can we come up with anything?”

“The captain will have a way,” Sanji said, looking at Luffy. “Right, Luffy?”

"Yes!" Luffy nodded firmly. "We'll definitely find a solution!"

The following morning, the sun shone brightly over Crystal Harbor, but the Straw Hat Pirates could all feel the tense atmosphere in the air. After yesterday's arson incident, they understood even more clearly how deep the Blackwood family's hostility ran.

“We need to be extra careful today,” Nami said as she organized the medical supplies. “Who knows what traps they might set.”

"It's okay!" Luffy remained optimistic. "We'll just keep doing good deeds! One day everyone will understand us!"

“Luffy is right.” Borsalino slowly adjusted his clothes. “But we definitely need to be more vigilant.”

Today they decided to go to the port area to help fishermen repair their nets and organize their fishing gear. Most of the fishermen here are ordinary people who live a hard life, and they are relatively simple and honest, not easily influenced by political factors.

"Let's go, everyone!" Sanji shouldered his toolbox. "Today, we'll show more people our true feelings!"

The group arrived at Fisherman's Wharf in a grand procession. Various fishing boats of different sizes were moored there, and the air was filled with the smell of seawater and fish. Fishermen were busily preparing to go out to sea to fish.

"Good morning!" Luffy greeted the fishermen loudly. "We've come to help!"

Hearing the sound, the fishermen all turned around. Upon seeing the Straw Hat Pirates, their reactions varied—some were curious, some were wary, and others showed friendliness.

“They're the same people who fought the fire in the slums yesterday!” a young fisherman recognized them. “I heard you helped a lot of people!”

“Yes!” Chopper exclaimed excitedly. “We want to help everyone!”

"But are you really pirates?" an old fisherman asked cautiously.

"We are indeed pirates," Zoro answered honestly. "But we don't harm innocent people."

“And we’re exceptionally skilled in all sorts of skills!” Franky said confidently. “Ship repair, shipbuilding, machinery maintenance—we can do it all!”

Soon, the Straw Hat Pirates got to work. Franky inspected the fishing boat's engine, discovering and fixing many minor malfunctions. Sanji helped the fishermen prepare food for their voyage and even taught them some preservation techniques.

Nami used her nautical knowledge to analyze weather conditions and ocean currents for the fishermen, helping them choose the best fishing routes. Chopper, on the other hand, provided medical treatment to the injured fishermen, and his medical skills impressed everyone.

"I never expected these pirates to be so useful!" a middle-aged fisherman exclaimed. "They're much better than the officials the government sent!"
