Chapter 1012 Peter vs. Dr. Manhattan
“My equipment couldn’t clearly capture their conversation, but Wally, in his extreme weakness and confusion, repeatedly screamed one sentence that pierced through the rain and distance, and was clearly etched into my mind: ‘Someone has changed our reality! Barry! Someone has tampered with the timeline!’”
Louise held her breath nervously as she listened to Luther's words.
Luther then pointed again to the photo of Joan Osterman in Louise's hand.
"This photo lies right where Wally disappeared, soaked by rain and covered in mud, but the photo itself is intact."
"This photo is the 'beacon' of that unusual temporal energy source!"
Luther stated unequivocally, "It pointed me in the right direction, and I started tracing the photo itself backwards!"
He turned sharply to Raven, his eyes burning with desire: "Raven, I know you're skilled in magic. I need your magic to open a room in my manor for me. It's right here!"
Raven was stunned by the insane determination in Luther's eyes.
She glanced at Louise, who nodded solemnly.
Raven nodded, exchanged a few words with Lex, and then, without further hesitation, closed her eyes, raised her hands, and deep purple magical energy surged from her palms as if alive, wrapping around the photograph in Louise's hand.
An obscure and difficult-to-understand incantation was chanted softly from her lips, echoing through the space.
As the incantation was performed, the air in the room began to distort and fluctuate.
The photograph that Luther brought floated up, emitting a faint but strange white light.
"Using blood as a guide, and shadow as a path..."
Raven's voice suddenly rose, the last syllable piercing out like a sharp blade.
"Om-!"
A muffled sound of space being torn apart rang out.
Right in the center of Louise's room, the air cracked like a shattered mirror.
An irregular spatial rift, its edges flashing with unstable purple lightning, suddenly opened!
Inside the rift, there was neither darkness nor starlight.
It was a photograph.
Endless, layer upon layer, densely packed, photos that stretch as far as the eye can see!
Each one was exactly the same as the one Louise held.
Joan Osterman, dressed in an old-fashioned suit and wearing glasses, smiled gently.
These photos are displayed in Lex's room from various angles and in various poses.
Some photos were brand new, some were yellowed and curled, some were stained with water, some had burn marks, and some were even torn apart and then taped back together...
Louise gasped as she looked at the room full of identical photos, involuntarily taking a step back, almost dropping the photos in her hands.
Courtney covered her mouth, letting out a silent gasp.
Even the well-traveled Raven was stunned by the sight.
Lex Luthor stood before this breathtaking "photo portal" made up of countless Joan Osterman smiles.
He pointed to the endless array of photographs inside the door and said to everyone:
"Here's the proof."
“From 1938—when the first photograph was discovered in an unassuming thrift store in New York—to today—when the last photograph was picked up from the mud in the city center, this photograph, like breadcrumbs deliberately scattered, has spanned nearly a century and is found all over the United States.”
"They appeared in the most unlikely places: deep in abandoned mines, beside newly excavated Mayan sarcophagi, in the melting ice of the Arctic ice cap, and even... near the wreckage of the Apollo lunar module on the far side of the moon!"
Luther's voice became hoarse with excitement.
"It is not a coincidence, nor a prank. It is a meticulously designed path that transcends time and space, a path that only 'he' could leave behind, and that only those who trace the source of time can discover. It is the existence that erased the hero, altered reality, and manipulated us all."
"He is reminding himself of who he used to be, and also... inviting us to discover the truth!"
The room was deathly silent.
Only the purple electric light at the edge of the spatial rift emitted a faint crackling sound.
The chirping of insects outside the window had stopped at some point, and even the sound of the wind seemed to be frozen by this terrifying scene.
Louise Lane felt a chill run down her spine.
Raven looked at the photos filling the room and was about to speak when a sharp pain shot through her head.
Clutching her head, Raven collapsed to her knees in agony.
She discovers that her memories are being tampered with!
Memories of her father are fading from her mind, as are childhood memories of the farm, replaced by painful memories of the priest in Azar.
"No!"
Enraged, Raven punched the ground, using all her strength to fight against the ability to alter memories.
"Raven, are you alright?"
Louise quickly stepped forward to help her up.
"No, to the farm, my brothers and sisters, they must go and save them!"
Raven looked at Louise and Courtney with a pained expression.
She had a premonition that the worst was about to happen!
If that man wants to change history, his brothers and sisters may suffer the same fate as the Justice Society!
at the same time.
The rust-red desert of Mars is as desolate as a graveyard.
Dr. Manhattan hovered, "looking" at Peter. Not with sight, but with his ability to see the root of all things.
He instantly identified Peter's physical composition: a carbon-based life form with moderate muscle fiber density, standard skeletal structure, no abnormal energy radiation, and no supernatural gene sequence...
He tried to incorporate this variable into the calculation of the time flow.
Billions of possible future branches unfold, disappear, and recombine in an instant.
However, each time the logical chain tried to get entangled with Peter Padrick, it was as if it had crashed into a chaotic fog that could not be deciphered.
The future is blurred, distorted, and even... fractured here.
Peter's very existence becomes a stubborn, unsolvable unknown (X) in the time equation.
A very subtle change appeared on Dr. Manhattan's face.
At this moment, Zatanna also came to Peter's side.
Without waiting for a response, Peter unleashed spatial magic, trapping Zatanna before she could speak.
"gentlemen?"
Zatanna looked at Peter with a puzzled expression.
Goodbye, Zuckerberg. I hope it won't be too long before we meet again.
Peter smiled at Zatanna and said something. The next second, spatial magic opened a portal, instantly teleporting her out of Mars.
"No!"
Seeing herself being moved away, Zatanna reached out to Peter, desperately trying to grab him, but in the end, she could only watch helplessly as she left.
Tears welled up in Zatanna's eyes instantly. She tried to use her magic to break free from the control, but no matter what she did, she couldn't break free.
"No! No! No! Don't do this!"
Zatanna reached out to Peter with a pained expression, but was instantly teleported away on Mars.
After Zatanna was sent away, a strangely shaped helmet, twisted like a nightmare, appeared.
The helmet's surface was covered with irregular reliefs that resembled faces screaming in pain.
Simply exposing it to the thin Martian atmosphere seemed to dim the surrounding light, and an invisible, nauseating whisper began to permeate the space.
Those were whispers of madness, the lamentations of countless lost dreams.
Without the slightest hesitation, Peter firmly placed the object, symbolizing the source of the deepest fear in his dreams, on his head.
"Buzz!"
An invisible shockwave spread outwards from Peter.
That wasn't physical energy, but a purely spiritual shriek powerful enough to tear the soul apart.
The distorted face reliefs on the helmet seemed to come alive instantly, with two eerie green lights shining from their empty eye sockets.
Dr. Manhattan's pure and bright eyes suddenly "focused" on the helmet.
The blue energy particles that make up his body became chaotic instantly, like an electromagnetic field subjected to severe interference.
Countless fragments of broken, chaotic images, filled with extreme pain and twisted desires, flooded Manhattan's senses like a black flood bursting its banks.
That's not a nightmare for humans; it's the most indescribable manifestation of madness in the deepest abyss of the subconscious of all things on a cosmic scale.
He saw the planet's wailing, the fracture of time itself, and the disintegration of logical chains into writhing, incomprehensible chunks of flesh...
These scenes should have been meaningless to him, who was omniscient; they were merely cold records in a database.
But under the forced infusion of the Nightmare Helmet, these "records" were imbued with the most primal and polluting emotional impact, like billions of poisoned needles piercing the core of his "consciousness".
Dr. Manhattan's body jolted violently in mid-air.
The perfect blue outline began to sway unsteadily for the first time.
The blue aura surrounding him flickered violently, like a light bulb with a poor signal.
It's now.
Wearing the Nightmare Helmet, a mental pollution powerful enough to drive even gods mad, Peter took a step forward.
His left hand came out of another pocket.
What he held in his palm was a gemstone.
A fist-sized, deep red gemstone, its interior seemingly flowing with viscous blood—the Sandman's Ruby.
The ruby emitted a chilling, reality-distorting light; its mere existence caused the surrounding space to groan under its weight.
Peter held the ruby high and aimed it at the "blue bald head" in the air.
His voice, coming through the Nightmare Helmet, became low and hoarse, like a declaration from the abyss:
"This place! This body! This thought! All are illusions!"
Buzz—Crack!
The ruby burst forth with a dazzling, deep red light that devoured all other light.
Starting with Peter's hand holding the ruby, a deep red, viscous, blood-like "domain" instantly spread forward, enveloping a large area of space in front of him, along with Dr. Manhattan, who was suspended within it.
In the area shrouded in red light, the laws of physics let out a mournful wail.
The many superheroes present were stunned by this scene and stood frozen in place, too afraid to move.
what is this?
The superheroes who rushed to the scene never expected that such powerful superheroes existed on Earth!
