Chapter 616 Arhat's Golden Body VS Immortal Body

After a role-playing session,
Chen Yuan relied on the dream of marriage to weave a dream world, read the memories of that Asura, and learned the whole story.

Upon learning that the Arhat from the Western Lands was actually spying on him, he naturally had to come and meet him.

He always acts according to the principle of "I will not offend others unless they offend me, but if they do offend me, I will retaliate without delay."

So he traveled thousands of miles in spirit, used the technique of transformation, and silently entered the temple. He then transformed into Asura, which caused the three children under the seat of this Arhat to appear.

These children were transformed from the Arhat who subdued the eight great demons. In Asura's memory, they felt both awe and resentment towards that bald donkey and were always trying to escape. Moreover, the other party was devouring his troops and obtaining his memories. They learned an important piece of information that could help him escape, so they risked lingering outside Qingshan County in an attempt to find his trace.

So Chen Yuan thought, why not use this as a pretext to lure and kill all these great demons together, leaving none of their attendants alive?

Unexpectedly, just when success was within reach, the plan was exposed. It turned out that among these three great demons, there was a "traitor" who had defected to Luohan!
This was something Chen Yuan hadn't anticipated!
Chen Yuan raised an eyebrow, his gaze sharp as lightning, looking at the young holy monk who was surrounded by boundless golden light and had attained the Arhatship. His expression hardened slightly, and his voice was low and menacing.

"How did the holy monk recognize me?"

The other party actually revealed his identity in one sentence. He did not think that his shapeshifting ability, coupled with the Heavenly Secrets concealment, would be so easily seen through.

"I dare not. This humble monk Jiaye has met Chen Wusheng. I dare not make any judgments. It is only a matter of cause and effect. I cannot think of anyone else."

Luo Han Jiaye put his hands together in prayer and bowed to Chen Yuan, referring to himself as a poor monk, his face showing neither sorrow nor joy.

"Please, General, show mercy and do not make things difficult for my disciple!"

Upon hearing this, Chen Yuan felt a surge of energy, as if a long-standing illness had been cured, revealing his true nature. He gave a forced smile, his eyes flashing with golden light, then turned sideways, displaying a disdainful look. "On what grounds?"

"I don't care where you come from, or what kind of holy monk or arhat you are, whether you spread the Dharma or seek enlightenment. Once you arrive in this place, you must abide by the rules here."

"You beasts under your command, monk, slaughtered my soldiers and investigated my whereabouts. Today, I will capture these beasts. What do you intend to do about it?"

Chen Yuan's voice was deep and resonant. When he finished speaking, his voice was like a thunderclap, causing a fierce wind to rise around him, and the branches of the trees in the mountains to fall towards the Arhat Gaya.

Then, lotus flowers bloomed all around the Arhat Gaya, and the void hummed. His white hair and monk's robe fluttered in the wind. He remained still and spoke, but his voice was devoid of joy or anger.

"Having heard of the general's merits, I originally intended to form a good connection and sent my disciple to search for him. However, I did not expect that the boy's demonic nature had not been eradicated, and he caused such trouble."

“Good and evil are rewarded accordingly. Asura has committed a sin and deserves to be punished by you, sir. However, my other disciples have not made any mistakes and are not related to this. I beg you, General, to be lenient.”

"A bunch of bastards causing trouble on the border, who knows how much human blood they've spilled on their hands. Just kill them!" Chen Yuan said coldly.

"Put down your butcher's knife, and this humble monk can guide them to goodness, clear away their karmic obstacles, and attain enlightenment in the future." Jia Ye bowed his head.

"According to what you're saying, monk, I'll kill your whole family, then convert to Buddhism, and you'll have to help me become a Buddha?" Chen Yuan laughed heartily upon hearing this, then lowered his eyebrows, his expression filled with undisguised sarcasm.

Then, the Arhat Nagaya's usually placid face changed slightly, but quickly returned to normal. His voice, however, was no longer filled with sorrow. He raised his head, and his lowered eyes shone with a Buddhist light, his gaze hardening somewhat.
"Why must you press this so hard, General?"

As he spoke, the Western Arhat waved his hand toward the temple. Suddenly, the temple, shrouded in clouds and mist, emitted a tinkling sound, followed by a golden light that pierced the darkness and sped toward them.

Then, a golden staff fell into the hands of Arhat Gaya. As the rings on the staff collided, it emitted boundless light, creating a world of light.

Suddenly, the workings of nature reversed, and yin and yang were turned upside down.

All around, the entire low mountain and the ancient temple grounds were bathed in the darkness of night, instantly transforming into daylight. Within them, the scenery and forests were constantly upside down.

It was as if the mountains and forests beneath my feet suddenly sank, transforming into a vast, secluded valley; the stream at the bottom of the valley surged upwards, hanging like a silver river in mid-air, and trees rose like clouds from the rocks they were rooted in. The four directions were out of place in the glow of the sunset, yet they exuded an eerie harmony. Celestial sounds drifted from the void, like the harmonious interplay of bells and chimes, interspersed with the faint chanting of Buddhist hymns, and golden lotuses even emerged from the cracks in the bluestone beneath my feet.

In this world, the sun and moon have lost their order, mountains and rivers have lost their normal course, and heaven and earth are upside down, yet within it, rosy clouds and colorful lights fly, resembling a beautiful and mysterious world.

At this moment, a boulder beneath Chen Yuan's feet lifted him into the air. With a keen sense of perception, he realized that this seemingly beautiful place was actually fraught with danger.

Chen Yuan watched all this, then looked at Jia Ye, who had also taken to the air opposite him. His expression remained unchanged, but the golden specks in his eyes darted around like those of a ferocious beast.

"You dare to stop me?"

"I dare not, but this humble monk would like to experience General Chen's supernatural powers!" Luohan Jiaye, holding a tin staff, raised his hand and thrust it downwards.

In an instant, the mountains and the void seemed like shattered glass, with ripples spreading out in layers.

The brilliance of this lotus-shaped Dharma realm was immediately revealed!
The grass blades in the forest instantly condensed into silvery-white sharpness, like short blades drawn from their sheaths, pointing diagonally towards the sky. In an instant, they flew through the air with a whoosh, rushing towards the void where Chen Yuan stood.

Golden lotus flowers danced and bloomed in the void, intermingling among them, spewing out golden light from their center.

Soon, the flying leaves swirled and instantly enveloped the rock where Chen Yuan was. As the leaves spun, they formed a lotus flower shape, about a hundred feet in size, in a closed state.

The sound of metal clashing came from inside, rapid as rain, but in a short while, the golden-blue lotus image expanded and contracted, as if trying to open.

On the opposite side, Arhat Gaya remained expressionless and tossed the prayer beads hanging in his hand toward the lotus.

"go with!"

The prayer beads transformed into shooting stars, spinning away, before emitting brilliant light patterns and falling towards the lotus flower that was about to burst open.

Just then,
"boom"

The cyan-gold lotus suddenly swelled, and a point of crimson light shot out from the center of the petals. Immediately afterward, the lotus exploded into flames.

A figure stepped out from within!
Holding a flaming spear horizontally, clad in six-colored dragon armor, its fierce light flashing, it exudes a powerful aura.

Chen Yuan's eyes shone with golden light. He looked up at the sky and saw a string of Buddhist beads, as heavy as a mountain, descending upon him.

The string of prayer beads, with eighteen beads, is also known as the Eighteen Sons in Buddhism. It represents the eighteen realms in Buddhism, namely the six senses, the six sense objects, and the six consciousnesses. These prayer beads shone brightly, spreading out like the stars in the sky or the blazing sun. They grew to a size of over ten feet and hovered a hundred feet away from Chen Yuan, manifesting a Dharma image. Golden patterns were engraved on them, depicting the Dharma images of Arhats.

As the patterns flow, there are arhats who hold up a small gilded pagoda in their right hand, its layers distinct and its spire gleaming with silver light, their left hand resting on their knees, glaring angrily; there are arhats who hold a dragon-subduing pestle in their right hand and press down on the head of a real dragon with their left, the dragon's body coiled around their sides, its scales shimmering with blue light, their monk's robes billowing backward in the wind of the dragon's aura, their brows furrowed in anger; there are also arhats who cross their right leg and let their left leg hang down, their right hand stroking the back of a fierce tiger, the tiger lying docilely, their left hand resting on their knees, their monk's robes wide, their faces gentle, and a smile playing on their lips.
The numerous illusory figures of Arhats, though illusions, made the void freeze with their awe-inspiring majesty between their brows!

As the Arhat prayer beads began to spin rapidly, golden Buddhist light suddenly burst forth, and beams of golden light shot out from the magic weapon with the eighteen Arhats engraved in relief, rushing towards Chen Yuan in the center, attempting to suppress him, and emitting a thunderous golden sound.

Chen Yuan frowned, feeling the powerful, oppressive void pressing down on him. He let out a cold snort, his feet trembled, and the six-colored true dragon armor on his body emitted a loud dragon roar, shining brightly.

The six-colored armor shone brightly, rising three zhang above its body, transforming into a light shield that roared towards the eighteen Arhats' suppressing Buddha light. With a loud "clang".

The eighteen beams of Buddhist light struck the six-colored dragon armor like striking a giant bell. Even with the combined power of the eighteen Arhats, the armor's protection was not immediately broken.

The vibrations caused the entire lotus-shaped Dharma Realm to hum and tremble, and the rocks to roll.

However, as the eighteen Buddhist beads continued to gather power, the light shield of the True Dragon Armor was compressed at a speed visible to the naked eye.

Chen Yuan held his spear horizontally, raised his eyebrows, and shouted.
"Grow, grow, grow!"

As the sound fell, the Great and Small Ruyi Divine Power was unleashed. Its body swayed and soared into the sky with incredible speed.

As his body rose higher like a mountain, a tremendous force, carrying the light of the True Dragon Armor, pushed the eighteen rays of Buddhist light outward.

"boom
"boom"

"boom"

One after another, beams of Buddhist light shattered.

As the light patterns on the prayer beads dimmed, they flew away into the surrounding mountains and forests.

Breaking free from his restraints, Chen Yuan's hundred-foot-tall body flew through the air with a thunderous roar, his spear slashing towards the Arhat opposite him.

The three-pointed, double-edged spear, flashing like lightning, tore through the sky and struck the Arhat directly.

The wind rippled the face of Arhat Jia Ye, who showed no emotion, and his eyes squinted. His staff shone with golden light as he held it horizontally.

There was a "dang" sound.

The next second, a golden light and shadow flew down.

There was a loud "boom".

Suddenly, a cloud of dust billowed up from a valley below.

Chen Yuan's eyes flashed like cold lightning. With a swift movement, he rushed towards the valley. In the process, his enormous body rapidly shrank back to normal size. His spear swept down a shower of cold light, shooting towards the dust and smoke below.

Amidst billowing smoke and dust, a cold glint flashed like a swift wind, and the sounds of impact were as rapid as the tolling of a bell.

Chen Yuan stood high in the sky, looking down. Golden specks flashed, piercing through the billowing dust and revealing the scene below. A glint of light flashed in his eyes.

"The golden body of an Arhat?"

At the center of the smoke and dust, golden light shone brightly, and chanting of Buddhist hymns could be heard.

Amidst the ashes, the area within several miles of the Arhat was razed to the ground, a scene of utter devastation. Yet, the spot where he stood remained unscathed, his monk's robes spotless.

A golden statue, sixteen feet tall, appeared on its surface, radiating light like a wheel, and chanting Buddhist hymns echoed in the void.

Immediately afterwards, golden light shot into the sky from the smoke and dust. In the golden light, Arhat Kasyapa, clad in gold and holding a golden staff, rushed towards Chen Yuan.

At the same time, he chanted Sanskrit, his lips moving rapidly, and a series of strange syllables resounded in this world.

“Om Vajrapani Haya Chowa Garangcha Hum Phat”

This is the mantra of the three wrathful deities, a practice of the Western Tantric Buddhism. This mantra is associated with the three wrathful forms of Vajrapani Bodhisattva, Hayagriva, and Garuda. May the Dharma protectors bestow their blessings upon us.

As the Arhat Gaya chanted the mantra, in an instant, the low mountain lying there rumbled and "climbed" up, and shattered rocks poured down like a torrential rain. These rocks suddenly ignited with crimson flames as they fell, turning into arcs of scalding magma that flew toward the three colossal figures that were rising from the ground.

Some transformed into armor, while others transformed into wings.

Amidst the rumbling and changing colors of the Dharma realm, three colossal divine statues appeared, one sacred and majestic, the other ferocious and imposing.
The statue is a blue-faced stone body with three wide-open eyes. The central vertical pupil flickers with a ghostly blue flame, and fangs protrude from the corners of its lips, yet do not appear ferocious. A scarlet cloak draped over its left shoulder, the edges fluttering in the air. Its right hand tightly grips a vajra, its entire body crackling with lightning, the tip of which gleams with a cold light that seems capable of cleaving through the void. Its left hand forms the wrathful mudra, holding a spinning ball of blazing gold in its palm. Six golden rings surround its body, each ring inscribed with Sanskrit mantras.

The stone statue, with its bare upper body in a bluish-black hue, features muscles as bulging as mountain peaks. Three horse heads adorn its top: the central white elephant head neighs, spewing white vapor like a waterfall; the left head, with its green mane, reveals fangs and blood-red eyes; the right head, with its golden saddle, lowers its gaze, its expression one of compassion for all living beings. Each of the three heads has a green snake coiled around its arms. The right hand holds a staff, the left a lotus flower, from which rests a sharp curved blade. Countless small bells hang from the hem of the tiger-skin skirt at its waist, jingling with a captivating, tinkling sound.

The last one soared into the sky, its wings spreading wide enough to blot out the sun. Each feather seemed to be forged from pure gold, with the feathers along the wing edges turning into sharp, serrated edges. Its head resembled an eagle's, with five fleshy crests, the crest tassels of which were fiery red. Its body was covered in fine golden scales, its claws like iron hooks gripping the earth, with unburnt lava still clinging to its toes. Its entire body was like gilded gold, dazzlingly bright, and its eyes were like the blazing sun, exuding immense pressure. With a sharp cry, it tore through the heavens.

These three are the guardian deities of Vajrapani Bodhisattva, Hayagriva, and Garuda!

Seeing this, Chen Yuan's expression was somewhat surprised and suspicious. He opened his Heavenly Eye and swept his gaze around. It was nothing more than a dead object that had been summoned. He swept his spear towards the charging Arhat and charged down.

"It seems you were prepared."

"It seems there's another story behind my fate."

Chen Yuan's tone was sinister. This Arhat seemed to have some skill. From their earlier exchange, Chen Yuan could tell that the monk seemed to want to keep him here.

The two met for the first time, and it was far from a life-or-death battle. There must be a reason why the other party did this.

It seems that the Asura's approach to me has nothing to do with any nonsense about fate; there must be some other reason involved.

Wanting to keep him is a pipe dream.

"Amitabha! Let the general and this humble monk fight first!"

Gaya, who had manifested the golden body of an Arhat, seemed to have changed his expression at this moment. He glared fiercely, held a staff, and shouted.

The two fought like Mars colliding with Earth.

At the same time, the three wrathful deities surrounded them, covering the sky and sun, and unleashed their supernatural powers.

Chen Yuan fought alone, relying on his two sacred weapons, and in the blink of an eye, they engaged in dozens of fierce battles. (End of this chapter)
