Apocalyptic Disaster: Stockpile Supplies for Free and Make a Comeback
Chapter 2 Hospital 1
Chapter 2 Hospital 1
!!!
A sudden jolt went through Song Jinhe's mind.
It's the chair that the zombies knocked over earlier! The zombies in the hallway have already seen her!
Song Jinhe leaned back, seemingly oblivious to the pain, and kicked her legs forward with all her might, banging twice as she kicked open the cabinet door and crawled out.
She was still a step too slow; the zombie at the front had half its body sticking out of the way.
There are at least seven or eight zombies outside. Even if she risked her life, she couldn't withstand the pressure of so many zombies!
Song Jinhe's feet were pushed backward little by little, and she saw half of a zombie's arm sticking out from the crack in the door, the rotting, festering wound scraping a layer of disgusting flesh off the edge of the door.
She couldn't hold on any longer.
The moment she let go, Song Jinhe hurriedly picked up a chair and smashed it against the zombie. She then grabbed a small pair of scissors from the desk, opened the window, and climbed out.
The zombie, with its bare, waxy yellow scalp, entered the room, tilted its head back, and roared as it leaped over the chair.
Oh my god, Song Jinhe, who was climbing out, almost fell when she saw this.
There's a narrow strip of ground outside the third floor that's barely enough to stand on; otherwise, falling from that height would at least result in a broken bone, and if you're unlucky, you'd land headfirst and die instantly.
The lack of oxygen caused by tension caused a sharp pain in Song Jinhe's brain nerves, and her right foot was in excruciating pain.
Before the window could be fully closed, a zombie tried to pry open the gap, and the not-so-bright but irritable zombie next to it raised its head and rammed into it.
wow-
The irritable zombie didn't care whether it could squeeze through the hole in the window. It was scraped beyond recognition by the sharp shards of glass, its skin peeling off like a layer of wax, revealing the dark flesh and blood embedded with shards of glass underneath, yet it still relentlessly tried to squeeze out.
Song Jinhe moved along the narrow waistline, watching in fear as it leaned out of the window. When her hand was less than two fingers' width away from her arm, it fell straight down and crashed into the ditch.
The zombies behind them poured out like beans, some breaking arms and legs, others getting stuck in the air conditioner unit.
Only the zombie wearing a hat was different; it climbed up the iron frame, only to be dragged down by the other zombies, leaving behind only a bloody handprint and a wise look in its eyes.
Song Jinhe took a deep breath and continued walking forward.
On the way to the medicine dispensing room, they passed a room with a steel security grille welded shut, where they encountered three other trapped 'companions'.
The other person had obviously seen her too.
Zhang Ping opened the window with a face full of joy, "Jinhe, it's so good to know you're alright! We've been so worried about you."
Worry?
Does she even believe that herself?
Song Jinhe glanced at them and prepared to leave.
"Jinhe!" Deng Miao called out to her, "There are zombies everywhere outside, we can't get out. Can you help us? We are roommates after all. Everyone else is dead, and there are only the four of us left."
The room is at a corner, so it's safe, but once the zombies block the corridor, the people inside can't get out.
"Have you ever thought about helping me out?" Song Jinhe asked calmly, her voice sounding a little hoarse because she hadn't had any water all day.
"We've thought about it," Zhang Ping stammered, "but there are so many zombies, we don't dare."
"So you think I'd dare?" Song Jinhe sneered. "I can't help you, but you can't expect me to risk my life to lure the zombies away from the corridor, can you?"
Does she look like a victim of injustice? The original 'she' would have been in pain because she was abandoned by her companions, but the current 'she' won't.
"No, that's not what we meant." Deng Miao's boyfriend, Cai Zheng, looked anxious. "You must have other ideas, right?"
"You managed to run out of a horde of zombies with a twisted ankle? How can you say you can't do it? You're just making excuses! We're all from the same school, she's being too petty. I suggest you figure it out yourselves."
Don't waste her time finding supplies.
"Song Jinhe! How could you do this? Can you bear to watch us die here? Didn't we agree to help each other and leave the hospital alive? Don't go!"
Song Jinhe left without looking back, completely ignoring their hushed calls.
Her ankle still hurt. When she arrived at the dispensing room and closed the door, she felt weak and listless.
The dispensing room has a good supply of medicines.
The store has all the basic medical supplies, including large bottles of alcohol, iodine, cotton swabs, gauze, hemostats, syringes, needles, and IV tubing. There are also six unopened bottles of alcohol.
Song Jinhe first put the sealed supplies into her space, and then put the opened alcohol aside separately.
Having not eaten all day, she was starving. She quickly opened an unopened bottle of purified water next to the water dispenser, poured it into a paper cup, drank two cups of water, ate the piece of bread she found in the drawer, and grabbed a disposable cup.
On the third day of the severe storm, more than 80% of the city experienced power and water outages due to equipment damage.
The newly built buildings in the city center are in relatively good condition, while the old houses are mostly damaged or collapsed.
Soon, water sources in some areas were contaminated by zombies, further exacerbating the situation.
The hospital is located on high ground and has its own power and water supply, so the impact of the natural disaster was minimal, and water can still be drawn from the taps.
Song Jinhe first put the purified water into her space, then carried down the bucket with a little water left at the bottom, washed it clean, and filled it with tap water.
The space does not allow food to spoil, and it is completely isolated from the outside, but it cannot contain living creatures or half-dead things like zombies.
I was looking for something to defend myself with, but after searching for a long time, all I found was a badminton racket.
After packing up the supplies, Song Jinhe stood by the window and looked at the hospital. If this place weren't located in a densely populated city, it would actually be a pretty good place to live after it was cleared out.
However, clearing and subsequent defense are major problems. Without a strong team, it's impossible to take it down, and even if you do, you can't hold it.
She planned to go to the pharmacy to get some supplies first, and then find a chance to get a car to leave this place.
I remember there's a way to start a car without a key. As long as we can break through the zombie encirclement, the car problem won't be difficult.
Song Jinhe planned her route to the pharmacy on the second floor, took down the waterproof map from the wall and put it in her spatial storage, then picked up her white coat, cut it vertically, and wrapped it around her arm to prevent scratching, before she began her operation.
-
"Jinhe is gone, what are we going to do?" Zhang Ping covered her arm with a shifty look in her eyes.
She didn't even know when she got the minor scratch, and she didn't say anything because she was afraid the two people would misunderstand.
"In the chaos of the time, everyone was running. If we hadn't left, we would have been eaten by zombies. She can't blame us."
As he spoke, Deng Miao noticed Zhang Ping's pale face, paused, and asked, "What's wrong? You don't look well."
Upon hearing this, Cai Zheng reacted as if facing a formidable enemy, his eyes instantly turning cold. "You weren't bitten, were you?"
"What are you talking about?" Zhang Ping feigned composure. "I don't have any blood on me, how could I have been bitten?"
