Chapter 1: Start Over Again

The moment Song Jinhe opened her eyes, she knew she was in deep trouble.

Outside the window, a violent storm raged, and screams shattered the silence. The unsuspecting man was tackled from behind by a 'person' whose mouth was full of blood, who bit off a piece of flesh from his cheek.

"what!!!"

Screams of agony erupted from the crowd, blood splattered on the walls and ceiling, and lightning illuminated the crimson world and the狰狞 faces.

The scene before her eyes had a tremendous impact on Song Jinhe's mind.

That thing wearing a hospital gown, with a chunk of flesh missing from its arm, revealing bone, and baring blackened teeth—is it a zombie?!

A bone-chilling cold crept up my back.

This isn't a game, this is for real!
As Song Jinhe was about to stand up, she realized that her right ankle was in excruciating pain.

"sorry"

The 'comrade' who knocked her down trembled, and the guilt in his eyes turned to fear when he saw the zombie rushing towards him. He also withdrew the hand that had reached out to pull her back.

Song Jinhe watched them rushing frantically toward the stairs without stopping, while the zombie beside her charged toward her, its mouth dripping blood.

In the chaos, Song Jinhe grabbed a stainless steel water cup and, steeling herself, shoved it into the zombie's mouth.

Then he quickly created distance and stood up despite the excruciating pain in his ankle.

She had no time to process what was happening!
Chaos filled the scene, with people being grabbed and bitten by zombies or trampled by others.

I don't know what kind of zombies these are, but they can run so fast!

Song Jinhe risked her life, limping through the chaotic crowd searching for a way out. Suddenly, a zombie rushed out and pounced on and tore apart one of her 'companions' who had just walked across the corridor.

The floor was shaking, and hissing and chewing sounds echoed throughout the building.

Looking at the building overrun by zombies, Song Jinhe realized that she would definitely not survive if she followed the crowd in her current state.

The bigger the commotion, the more zombies it will attract, and new zombies may appear in the crowd at any time.

Song Jinhe turned around and hurriedly ran into the office next door. She swept the contents of the filing cabinet out as quickly as possible and hid in the cabinet, trembling, before the zombies rushed in.

She only had time to close one of the two doors to the room.

Hearing the footsteps of the zombies entering, Song Jinhe froze in the dark closet.

She recalled lying on her deathbed, her gaze suddenly shifting upwards, looking at the straight lines on the monitor like an outsider.

A clear, synthesized electronic voice entered your ears amidst a buzzing sound—Congratulations on getting a 'second chance,' you should go back now.

Where to go back?

Just as she was about to ask, she suddenly found herself back in the corridor, nearly landing dead in the game.

Heartbreaking, truly heartbreaking.
She was given a second chance, and this was the place she was in. She didn't understand what there was to congratulate her about.

The zombie walked to the outside of the filing cabinet, and through the gap in the cabinet door, one could see blood dripping from its trouser legs.

Song Jinhe clutched her clothes tightly, barely daring to breathe, afraid of being discovered by the zombies. The new memories in her mind quickly made her understand the current situation.

This is a parallel world teeming with zombie mutations and natural disasters, where buffs are stacked up. Ordinary zombies are just the first stage; there are various natural disasters to come, such as extreme cold, extreme heat, smog, acid rain, and biological mutations.

She and several companions came to the hospital to visit a sick friend, but were unfortunately trapped in the hospital by a massive storm, and then a zombie outbreak occurred.

They watched as the person who was about to take the elevator to his car went inside and never came out again, leaving only hysterical cries for help and the strong smell of blood.

In the city shrouded in dark clouds, cries for help could be heard everywhere, and cars were colliding with each other.

The end times were thus set in motion.

The survivors in the hospital could only huddle together and wait for rescue, but soon the number of zombies increased. Then, one night, something happened—just now, the time she arrived in the parallel world.

The chilling 'hoho' sound amplified in my ears.

The nasal cavity was filled with the sticky, foul stench of the dead of one's own kind, a smell that humans are naturally averse to. This odor was stronger than that of any rotting animal, and it seemed to seep into the body through the pores.

The realism conveyed by her senses made Song Jinhe realize that she could never return to the familiar civilized world and had to grit her teeth and adapt.

She doesn't get a second chance at life.

The torrential rain didn't stop throughout the night, and screams rang out one after another, coming from the building across the street, from upstairs and downstairs, and even from the next room.

Because of a hurried call, what started as one person being discovered by zombies escalated into everyone being discovered.

"No, help me—"

"dad--"

Hearing the screams from not far away, Song Jinhe felt colder than a metal cabinet.

The entire floor outside is teeming with zombies, and they are much faster and more agile at night than during the day; she could become the next one at any moment.

Don't panic, don't panic, panicking will only make things worse. She could only try to mentally prepare herself, calm her breathing, and wait for the zombies to leave.

From dusk till dawn, and then dusk again, for a whole day, Song Jinhe huddled in the closet, her hands and feet numb, afraid to make even the slightest movement.

Even as dawn broke again, with only two zombies remaining in the room, she dared not recall how she had survived.

Song Jinhe massaged her ankle; it was fine when she didn't exert any force, but it hurt terribly when she did.

Fortunately, no bones were broken.

Otherwise, she can't change anything.

In my memory, she was also trapped on the third floor of the hospital, without water or food, and was so desperate that she wanted to end her life.

The team that came to the hospital to find supplies rescued her. At that time, she was emaciated and looked like a zombie. Her greatest value was that she could be thrown out as a consumable to attract zombies when necessary.

She acted as an inside agent, took down that team, and joined a new one.

Everyone looked down on her, thinking she was incompetent and a traitor. Despite her best efforts to survive in the apocalypse, her talent awakened too late.

She eventually died in the third year of the apocalypse, and the spatial bracelet fell and was acquired by a new team.

Song Jinhe subconsciously touched the translucent pale purple jade bracelet on her wrist. The bracelet was gone, replaced by a small warehouse of about 15 square meters in her mind.

The storage space is still there.

She wouldn't sit idly by and wait to fall into the hands of those people again.

Song Jinhe observed for a long time. The two zombies were too close together. In this situation, unless she had firearms, the zombies would start eating as soon as she went out.

However, the filing cabinet was also close to the open back door, and she could see the metal trolley parked in the corridor. Song Jinhe carefully pushed the cabinet door open by a hand's width, gritted her teeth, and threw her phone with force.

bang——

The cart was hit, and the half-fallen iron plate slammed down, the crisp sound echoing eerily in the quiet building.

The roars of zombies rang out one after another, and they staggered out following the sound. Upon seeing this, Song Jinhe immediately pushed open the cabinet door.

However, at the crucial moment, the cabinet door got stuck halfway down and couldn't be pushed any further.

New book post released, please support! I'll be updating every night!
The story features a 1v1 romance between the male and female leads, both being virgins; the main characters and their team develop gradually; and none of the characters are perfect.
The world in the book isn't all good people, and in a post-apocalyptic world, not everyone can be strong and survive on their own. If you're sensitive to this, please consider carefully before reading.
Writing about villainous characters doesn't mean I'm intentionally smearing or suppressing a particular gender. I won't take the blame for that QAQ.

This book does not label itself as a "strong female lead," nor does it meet the standards of a "strong female lead." Please be aware of this.
