Chapter 55 Offering Sacrifice to the Sea

Chapter 55 Offering Sacrifice to the Sea

The fishman was stunned, and so was Little Swarth.

But soon, Little Swarth understood what Ria meant, and instantly transformed into countless tentacles that melted on the ground.

The commotion inside the fishman's stomach hadn't disappeared; it was just that his appearance had undergone a complete transformation.

The belly twitched for a moment, then calmed down again. However, the supernatural creature's belly was now loose and no longer as beautiful as before.

The ground where the mythical creatures once lived is now covered with many transparent fish eggs. The little fish-men inside those eggs can even start to swim, opening their mouths as if trying to bite through the egg membrane, only to be pierced by Ria's cane.

"Snapped!"

The colorless, sticky egg fluid mixed with fish meat immediately spread out on the ground.

Seeing all this, Steyr looked at Ria: "Is this your supernatural ability?"

"Isn't it convenient that black market traders can exchange goods with others?"

Lia joked that all this success seemed to be due to the fishman's lack of intelligence, but that wasn't actually the case. Lia's "trade" request was directed at the fish eggs. Exchanging a mythical creature for a mere cluster of fish eggs meant that the other party was the one who made the biggest profit.

The fish eggs agreed to the deal without a second thought, and were kicked out of their mother's womb.

The fishman's belly now contains a baby Swarth, which is much more intelligent than the fish eggs and can perfectly control the fishman's body in a short time.

After accomplishing these things, the first thing it did was run to Ria's side, ignoring the fact that the mother was dry, and stared at him longingly. It also helped him by stomping on all the fish eggs on the ground to vent its anger.

Ria: "..."

His feelings at this moment were very complicated.

It's so subtle, like someone finding a brand new bubble wrap, popping one of the bubbles, and then suddenly the unlucky kid from next door comes running over, snatches the bubble wrap away, throws it on the ground, and stomps it all to pieces.

After doing all this, the child also hoped to receive praise from the victim.

"Okay, okay, you deserve praise."

Ria praised it with a hint of helplessness, then had it lead him to the inn. Before leaving, he suggested that Steyr could come along, but Steyr, as if facing a formidable enemy, quickly waved his hand in refusal.

Not all patients have the same tenacious mentality as Ria. Steyer believes that running around before consolidating the idiocy meme is tantamount to suicide.

Although he is hard to kill, each time he fakes his death, it is unpleasant. The prophet is not good at dealing with memes that are extraordinary.

"I'll just stay here. If you're still alive in two days, don't forget to come and tell me the good news, my friend. We can still have a drink together and enjoy the new music from the brass band."

Why do you give me a bad feeling when you say things like that?

"That's how prophets are, otherwise I wouldn't have taken so many hits. Anyway, good luck, my friend. You're quite strong, and I hope you survive."

"it is good."

Ria and Steyr downed another glass of the cheapest ale, then left the tavern with the merman parasitized by Little Swarth.

He stood by the door, holding up his umbrella. Above him stretched the boundless waves of the abyss, while on the ground lay countless large-headed fish, their scales bristling like pine cones.

People around him sang and danced in a circle, their mouths opening and closing like fish, and the tentacles of the most terrifying mythical creatures were housed among the fish-men around him.

Behind me, a noisy guitar riff rang out. Without turning around, I knew that Steyr was probably going to wreak havoc on those miserable instruments again.

“Let’s go.” Ria nodded to Daisy, who had transformed back into human form. Daisy turned her head 268 degrees and then back again, eagerly running around in the rain. But no matter how much she played, the mythical creature was never as far away from Ria as she was.

In the rain, it stretched out its tentacles to string the bighead fish together, and then casually dropped its long tentacles to sew up the ruptured abdominal cavity of a person who had turned into a fish, preventing more bighead fish from slipping into the streets and affecting the town's "cleanliness of the year" evaluation.

Ignoring its "liveliness," Ria followed it all the way to the hotel. Upon entering, it automatically devoured the split body and returned to Ria's flesh and blood, while at the front desk, the perfectly healthy Daisy still stood there with a smile on her face.

"Welcome back, Mr. Kelcha. Your gift has been placed at the door of your room. Next time, remember not to wander into the streets on days like this, as you may easily see things that are unacceptable to ordinary people."

"Thank you for reminding."

Daisy didn't react strangely at all, but that was the strangest thing about her.

Ria casually agreed and returned to her room without changing her expression. There, she saw a gift box wrapped in ribbon with a card on the outside.

A few words were written on the card.

"Happy Rain Festival! Please write your holiday wish on the back. Maybe an angel will see your card and grant your wish."

Note: Please write down your wish before opening the gift.

The little girl in the next room was standing outside the door, staring blankly at the card. She only had one hand, and the other sleeve hung empty at her side.

Lia asked her, "What did you write?"

"I wish I had a home."

"Aren't they your family?"

"No, they aren't, so my dreams shouldn't be written like that; I should write something more realistic."

The child squatted down with a pen, wrote a few lines of words on the card, and then eagerly opened the box, only to find a piece of paper with unknown words written on it.

"This is not what I imagined."

The girl couldn't understand what was written on the paper, but for some unknown reason, she inexplicably put it in her pocket. When she went inside, she unconsciously uttered a few strange words.

The words didn't sound like they could come out of a human mouth at all.

When Ria saw her enter the house, he picked up the gift box in front of his room, but he completely ignored the card and directly tore out the note.

"I can't understand the text above either, and looking at it for too long makes me dizzy and lightheaded."

Are we supposed to watch through the eyes behind the neck, just like last time?
Ria used her key to enter the room, closed the door, tossed the note on the table, and began to consider whether or not to read it.

"The fishmen deliberately made the tenants read incomprehensible texts... These texts must have some kind of supernatural power that can influence the human brain, making them memorize these things into their subconscious. When everyone recites the texts together during the sacrifice, it will be easier to achieve their goal."

Will reciting these words turn me into a sacrifice?

Ria picked up the note again, pondered it over, closed his eyes, lowered the back of his collar, and brought the note close to the most distinctive eye at the back of his head.

The eyes moved slightly out of Ria's sight, carefully reading the words on the note. Soon, the gist of the words appeared automatically in Ria's mind.

"hiss……"

Lia clutched her head, her heart pounding erratically.
