Chapter 4090 The Night with Vige

Chapter 4090 The Night with Vige
While the Queen Anne Opera House isn't as grand as the Golden Hall in Vista, it possesses a unique, rustic charm compared to the opera houses in Tobeskoye.

The opera house has three floors, and Viggo booked the central box on the second floor. Shad, having frequently accompanied the Cavendish ladies to such occasions, was quite familiar with the box's layout and decor.

He simply felt that there seemed to be an excess of life energy in the opera house tonight, making his [Life Reversal] highly efficient. However, upon closer inspection, he couldn't detect any other unusual activity.

Xia De only remembered to ask after entering the private room:

"Speaking of which, what opera is playing tonight?"

"I thought you would ask on your way here."

Wearing a gold evening gown and with her long hair tied up with a purple headband, Wei Ge smiled and answered:

"The classic play 'Women's Hearts' tells the story of the human struggle of two noble sisters who, amidst intrigue and temptation, go from trust to betrayal and finally reconcile."

He hadn't actually seen the opera, but he'd heard Dorothy mention it. He and Viggo then sat down on the sofa, while Winnie and Miss Rowling went to prepare tea and check the room—essential steps for ladies traveling.

Xiaomia had seen similar situations many times before. To prevent being carried away by Agelina who appeared out of nowhere, she immediately lay down on Shad's lap and stopped moving, which disappointed the witch who had hoped to snuggle into Shad's arms.

However, at least when the lights went out and the leading lady on the stage outside the front wall of the box directly opposite the sofa began her opening remarks with her melodious singing voice, Wei Ge was quite satisfied with her arrangements for the evening:

"I have to do something before the lights come back on. I got this 'surprise' from Sylvia, and I can't let it go to waste."

Having forgotten her afternoon dream, but still harboring certain thoughts in her subconscious, Wei Ge thought to herself, her hand resting on the sofa quickly finding Xia De's hand in the darkness. She gently squeezed Xia De's large palm, and after confirming that he didn't react, she moved closer to him.

Although the lights were off, neither the cats nor the people inside were affected by the darkness. Mia's large amber eyes glowed in the darkness; she had a premonition that her rest would soon be disturbed. Meanwhile, Miss Rowling, standing by the wall, was observing the maid that Shad had brought. Winnie noticed her gaze, turned slightly, and winked at her, asking if she had a question.

But Miss Rowling had no questions; she was simply curious about the relationship between this well-mannered maid and Shad.

Viggo knew that Adelina would most likely appear tomorrow, so she wanted to make a breakthrough tonight. This certainly didn't mean she wanted to do anything intimate in this semi-public setting, but in the darkness, she was confident that her charm and the aid of her equipment would attract Shad's attention.

Of course, all of this is predicated on getting rid of that cute cat, which is getting in the way tonight, and Vige is quite confident about that.

So, in the first ten minutes of the opera, Vigo was caught in a battle of wits with Mia. Her progress was not smooth, as Mia was not the kind of cat who would leave her "habitat" easily.

Xia De was not paying close attention to the opera, of course. Although his ears were listening to the sounds on stage, his attention was still on the interaction between Vigo and Mia.

Viggo ultimately failed to shoo away the determined Mia, but she did manage to get close to Shad. Her left hand intertwined with Shad's right, then she coughed softly, using the cough as a pretext to lean her head on Shad's shoulder.

After waiting for a while, she hummed softly.

The sound drew Xia De's attention, and he saw Vige's bright, expectant eyes looking at him in the darkness.

Her golden eyes were filled with laughter. She winked at Xia De, then pursed her lips, her eyes getting closer and closer to Xia De.

The maids by the wall also noticed the kissing sounds that followed, but neither Viggo's girls nor Winnie showed any change in expression. They silently counted down the seconds in their minds.

A little over a minute later, the two separated because of Viggo's soft cough. Miss Rowling heard her mistress's apologetic murmur, while Winnie heard Shad comforting her, saying it was alright.

Then they all heard Xiaomia's unhappy meows, so the cat was moved to lie on the back of the sofa in the private room. From behind the sofa, the two figures in the darkness overlapped again. Viggo finally sat on Shade's lap. This time, she wouldn't waste time sleeping like she did in the afternoon.

"I prepared a gift especially for you, can you feel it?"

Wei Ge's voice was very soft, but to Xia De it sounded clearer than the voices on the stage at that moment.

He embraced the beautiful girl:

"Is it perfume? I really like the scent of your perfume."

Wei Ge smiled but didn't answer. She simply took Xia De's hand and led him somewhere, then hummed again.
"It feels really good, doesn't it? I bought this from a friend at Willendale. This fabric is in high demand; the highest quality products are simply unavailable on the market. I had to use connections to get three pairs."

She gently bit her lip:

"Now that we have this opportunity, I'd like you to give your evaluation. What do you think?"

The girls were all curious about what this great witch would do, while Winnie thought that in the present of the Sixth Age, a witch with a little more courage had finally appeared. She wanted to record this moment so that she could tell the demigod witches of the past in the future.

The opera performance started at 7 p.m. and was scheduled to end at 9:30 p.m. Vige hadn't paid much attention to the performance from the start, and after successfully "getting rid of" Xiaomia, she paid even less attention to anything outside the box.

She savored the sensation of kissing in the darkness, feeling a mixture of shyness and amusement as Shad explored her beautifully woven body. Her body temperature rose slightly, and despite not having consumed much blood wine, her complexion remained rosy. She noticed that Shad was gradually becoming bolder, so Vige guided him to personally verify that her figure was actually quite nice.

Although the lights were still off, the room was clearly filled with a pink atmosphere. Even Shad felt that the spring night was a bit warm, but Vig was unwilling to leave Shad's arms.

The girls standing by the wall also felt their hearts race and their faces flush in the darkness from every tiny sound and barely perceptible tremor, but none of them spoke; they simply waited quietly.

With ten minutes to go before 8 p.m., Wei Ge suddenly let out a soft groan and then bit Xia De's neck. She bit Xia De, but only drew a little blood.

The blushing witch hugged Shad, rested her head on his shoulder, and shyly dared not move. After a long while, she whispered:
"I'm going to the restroom to touch up my makeup. Wait for me."

"Ok."

Shade responded softly, and Vige, not daring to look at Shade's expression, hurriedly stood up and left with the maids.

Now only Shad, Mia, and Winnie remained in the private room. Winnie turned on the light and went to the coffee table to replace the black tea that had only been sipped twice.

"This great witch of chaos has a rather strange personality, but she is very bold."

She praised him, then tilted her head after tidying up the tea set, her body transforming instantly from flesh and blood into the translucent form familiar to Xia De. Standing before Xia De, she smiled, looked down at him, and then softly said:

“I’ve spoken with the maids of this era, and Tifa mentioned something similar. So, before that witch returns, do you need my help?”

The ice-soled high heels tapped lightly on the ground. She tried to squat down, but Shad pulled her up abruptly.
"Let's not talk about it this time. Although Vige probably won't be back for a while, it's not necessary. What do you usually talk about with Tifa and Matilda?"

"This is the maids' little secret."

Winnie answered with a smile, about to tease Shad again, when a voice came from outside the door—

dong dong dong~
"Sir, would you like a fruit platter in the room?"

Winnie stopped talking, and the smile on her face vanished. Without a word, she went to the door and grabbed the young woman outside, pulling her into the room.

The latter didn't even have a chance to utter a second word before being frozen into an ice sculpture, while Shad, though initially oblivious to the problem, placed his right hand in front of his right eye after Winnie made her move:

"Sharp Eye Technique - Edwards' Eye: The entire skin glows, coupled with this whispering element..."

With a cold expression, the maid reached into the ice sculpture and, amidst the sound of flesh tearing, she forcefully ripped the skin off its body.

But after the skin was peeled away, what was revealed was not a bloody, mangled body, but a middle-aged woman with an ordinary appearance. She was much fatter than the young girl, and although they were about the same height, their hair colors were completely different.

"Leather goods, what disgusting things."

Looking at the frost-covered skin in her hand, Winnie said calmly:
"The evil of the false man lies in the strange things themselves; but the evil of the skin is purely the desire of intelligent life itself. Skin has no ability to think when it is not out of control; it is the wearer who wears other people's skin because of his own desires, because of vanity, because of comparison, because of the so-called pursuit of youth and beauty."

In Her Majesty Chloe's time, the use of leather was a grave sin. Those who have just experienced the Fourth Age will not repeat the same mistake.

Shad placed Mia on his shoulder:
"I haven't even gone looking for leather goods yet, and I didn't expect that someone wearing leather goods would actually come and provoke me. Is this a coincidence? Or is it related to the mermaid's followers? Or is it just that the 'leatherworkers' in the [Leather Goods Guild] have discovered Vige's unusual behavior?"
