Chapter 4089 Vigor and Winnie

Chapter 4089 Vigor and Winnie

Wei Ge felt a little regretful:

"This technology can only modify the eyes of ordinary people; it has no effect on demonic eyes. It's a pity that my eyes aren't that strong. If my eyes could isolate the effects of calamities, they might be able to directly become the source of the spark."

Xia De hugged her and laughed. Wei Ge had gradually made him accustomed to this intimacy, and he had to admit that Wei Ge's strategy was very effective:

"Whose eyes can withstand the power of calamity? Even I wouldn't do that. I already have the mark on my palm, so I don't need this kind of technology. But you can try to study the mark on my palm later. Maybe it will help you discover an opportunity to further modify your mother's technology."

"of course can."

Wei Ge laughed, continuing to lie lazily in Xia De's arms like a cat:
"Perhaps our second spark will be born in my hands in the future."

Shad then thought back to the AllSpark of the Fifth Age, but then he remembered that someone's eyes might be able to withstand the power of calamity. However, he was unwilling to make such an attempt, as no one could bear the consequences of a failed attempt.

Iluna Beas's left eye does indeed possess the potential to be transformed into a source of the AllSpark.

"She" said gently, and then asked Shad a question:
[Besides flesh and blood, and the red moon, what other forces can you think of that can coexist harmoniously with life energy?]

Shad knew what "she" wanted to express:
"The source of all things, the sun."

She smiled gently, while Xia De held Wei Ge in his arms, saying nothing more. Miss Lorraine, who was standing at the door, didn't hear any more voices from inside for a long time. When she peeked out, she found that Wei Ge, who was being held by Xia De, had fallen asleep at some point.

The disappearance of the blood brew effect caused fatigue to surge back, and in the completely safe environment, Wei Ge fell into a peaceful sleep.

Shad shook his head at Miss Rowling, indicating that she didn't need to come over, and then spent a peaceful Tuesday afternoon with this witch who might discover something in the future in his arms.

Wei Ge had a strange dream. In her dream, she felt as if she were sleeping on soft clouds. Then she heard her mother's voice, a voice exactly like the one echoing deep within her soul.

After passing through thirteen stone archways and descending deep underground, she saw her mother, whom she had only ever seen in photographs before, on the calm, black water. Her figure was somewhat blurry, but her voice was clear—

"Go and find your sister and put her back together."

In her dream, her mother said that Vige wanted to answer that she was doing this, but she couldn't put the words into words.

"If you can't do that, you must give birth to your own offspring. As long as the bloodline is not broken, there is still hope."

In the dream, her mother said that Vige wanted to tell her that she had chosen the path of a witch, so she could not leave behind any descendants in any way, but she could not say those words.

"Wei Ge~ Wei Ge~"

At that moment, a voice came from the far distance. When Wei Ge looked up, she opened her eyes in reality and saw the setting sun shining on Xia De's face. He was smiling gently.

"It's getting late. Miss Rowling said the maids have prepared dinner. Let's eat something first, and then go see the opera later."

The setting sun cast a golden glow on Xia De's face. Wei Ge, who had just woken from her dream, was momentarily stunned and instinctively reached out to touch Xia De's face. She only snapped out of her daze when she felt the warmth of Xia De's skin, and coughed incessantly as she sat up from his embrace.

Looking out the window, the brilliant sunset illuminated the ancient white stone buildings of the Upper City of Arcadia; dusk had arrived.

"Did I sleep all afternoon? Is my last day alone coming to an end?"

She spoke with a sense of loss, then looked at Xia De with an apologetic expression:

"Excuse me, are your hands sore?"

"It's alright, and the day isn't over yet. Aren't we going to see the opera?"

"I still feel like I wasted a lot of precious time."

Vige gave Xia De a light, fleeting kiss on the cheek, then jumped off the sofa.
"I'm going to change my clothes. We'll have dinner together in half an hour, and then we'll go see the opera."

Although it was already evening, there was still enough time. However, considering that he might return late tonight, and that the information he had obtained from the alchemist that afternoon was very important, Shad stood up as well:
"I'll go back first, and I'll be back on time for dinner."

"Then I'll wait for you to come back."

Wei Ge said with a smile, watching Xia De throw out the crystal shoe and leave.

The golden rays of the setting sun streamed in through the window of No. 6 St. Teresa's Place, bathing the cat perched on the windowsill watching the pigeons in a shimmering glow. Shad had assumed Galina or Luvia would be home, but upon arriving, he found only Winnie preparing dinner for Mia.

The maid already knew that Xia De wouldn't be home for dinner tonight, so she was somewhat surprised to see him coming upstairs and asked:

"What happened?"

"I obtained important intelligence from Arcadia City and wanted to share it with Luvia or Galina. Didn't they come?"

Winnie shook her head:
“When I arrived ten minutes ago, only Mia was at home.”

"Meow~"

The cat jumped off the windowsill and ran towards Shad. After Shad picked it up, it climbed onto his shoulder. Shad immediately understood what the cat meant:
"You want to go out with me?"

"Meow~"

The cat meowed, and Shad suspected that the cat knew that dinner in Arcadia City was more lavish. However, Winnie was already preparing the cat's dinner, and Shad hesitated for a moment before saying to Winnie:
“I’m taking Mia to Vigo’s place. Winnie, if you’re free tonight, come with us. I’ll introduce you to Vigo, and Vigo will get to know you too.”

Winnie had nothing to do that evening, but the maid hesitated for a moment:
"Is it appropriate for her to meet me now?"

“There’s nothing wrong with it. On the contrary, I think it’s a bit inappropriate to let you return to Fatummister Island alone now.”

Xia De took her hand:

"But now there's a problem: how are you going to get to Arcadia City?"

Winnie smiled:
"I'll just fly there. I'm not human. My level of twelve rings is enough for me to do many things that humans can't even imagine."

Winnie's true form is a frost, or rather, an extremely cold current, and the church's reconnaissance rituals in the city are not very sensitive to this existence.

Therefore, after Shad and Mia reappeared at the Blue Ink Library, they waited another twenty minutes before Winnie, in her human flesh and blood form, pushed open the library door and walked in.

"Owner."

She lowered her head and spoke softly. Shad noticed that her human appearance was wearing light makeup today, but it was not noticeable unless you looked closely.

The light rain that had fallen in the afternoon had stopped, and the road back to the upper city was easy to travel. Even so, Xia De returned to Fragrance Mansion ten minutes later than he had promised Vige. When he knocked on the mansion door, he saw Vige waiting in the foyer.

Just as the witch was about to complain a little, she saw the cute cat perched on Shad's shoulder, with a shy-looking young woman following behind him, dressed in a standard maid outfit.

"Who is this?"

“This is the maid I mentioned to you this morning, her name is Winnie. When I went back just now, this cat wanted to come with me, so I thought I might as well bring Winnie along. She can take care of Mia for me when we go to the opera tonight.”

Vige then tried to reconcile the image of the plump aunt she had imagined that morning with the beautiful young maid in front of her, but in the end she could only accept that she was probably wrong.

Winnie was now in a flesh-and-blood form, but Viggo could sense something strange about her when she looked at her. Although the Witch Council knew of Winnie's existence, Viggo had never seen Winnie before, so it was impossible for her to connect this charming girl with the "ice elemental being" rumored to live in the Ice Castle.

She wasn't angry that Shad had brought a maid; instead, she felt that Shad was laying the groundwork for revealing his true identity. So, after a slight surprise, she, as the mistress of the house, gracefully welcomed Winnie's arrival, then took Shad's arm and went with him to the dining room.

Although she received the invitation, Winnie did not sit down to dine with the two. Instead, she served Shad as his maid. She was clearly trying to impress the modern-day Chaos Witch, but unfortunately, Viggo did not understand this intention.

Xiaomia, on the other hand, enjoyed dinner very much and was happy to continue going out with Shad afterward.

Viggo invited Shad to see the opera at the "Queen Anne Theatre" in the Upper Town of Arcadia. Queen Anne was a female king of the Anjou royal family about three hundred years ago, and the theatre was renamed by Arcadia as a sign of loyalty to the Anjou royal family.

The opera house isn't far from the Fragrant Residence. After leaving the Fragrant Residence, head to Scholar's Square first, then turn onto the road to the right of the Tower of Wonders. After driving uphill for a while, you'll see the ancient opera house at the end of the road.

Originally built during the Kingdom of Delinor, this opera house has undergone numerous renovations in modern times and is the tallest large building in the city besides the Candleburg Library.

Viggo had, of course, booked a box at the opera house. She had her own plans and certainly didn't want to be stuck in the crowd without a chance to chat with Shad. Accompanying Shad and Viggo were Winnie and Mia, Miss Rowling, and three other maids.

Miss McDonald is in charge of looking after the potions lab tonight, so she didn't come along.
