Chapter 3798 Adele and the Unicorn

At the critical moment, the dark shield was activated by the dragon scale amulet hanging on Ellie's chest, and the thick night blocked the heavy-armored knight's slash.

As night fell and the darkness returned, the radiance emanating from the transparent white apple held aloft by Ellie's hands froze the undead knight and the demon mount in place. Even though the destiny of innocence had not yet fully taken shape, it had already suppressed evil.

Taking advantage of the enemy's subdued state, Leona, who had rushed over from a short distance, charged forward, knocking the demon and undead aside. As the demon and undead knights recovered and prepared to attack again, Ellie had already climbed onto Leona's back, ready for the second round of battle.

Two forces of diametrically opposed nature collided once more in the snow, black and white intertwining into a chaotic mix. After the strange halo dissipated, Ellie and little Leona were still standing in the snow, while the heavily armored knight, riding his demonic mount, staggered forward a few more steps before crashing heavily into the snow.

A pure white arc of light pierced through the ring on its chest, and the once perfect [Evil] destiny was now cracked. But after falling, it quickly stood up again, and then the demonic mount carried it directly into the depths of the snowy night.

Ellie didn't give chase, not because she couldn't catch up. After the demon undead knight disappeared, she clutched her chest and groaned in pain before placing her hand on little Leona and using the natural power she had obtained from Emilia to heal her.

Before the three-ringed unicorn has a complete destiny, it can only fight this kind of enemy to a draw or gain some advantage. It would be more appropriate to leave this kind of opponent to Iluna.

However, Ellie didn't come away empty-handed from this encounter; in her left hand, she grasped a black, curved object. It was a fragment of fate that she had torn from that evil destiny when her "Apple Power" clashed with the opponent—something Shad had done before.

So the black arc was transformed into an apple. After Ellie ate the new apple, she gained a brand new spirit rune, [Evil], and her injuries were completely healed.

After confirming that Leona was in good condition, they continued their journey to higher points on the mountain.

Meanwhile, the fleeing black knight had already shared all the information about his encounter with the strange opponent with his master. Deep within the ruined temple atop the high mountain peak, a giant black serpent slithered out from the entrance to the underground staircase in the center of the stone chamber, its head looking in the direction where Ellie and little Leona were.

The giant serpent's left eye was different from its right, as if inlaid with a beautiful golden gem. The serpent saw through time and space, saw through fate, and tried to understand the identity of the so-called "Unicorn Knight" now that the Summoner was playing cards in the tavern at the foot of the mountain.

Its eyes accurately located Ellie and her group, but before it could see the little unicorns clearly, the flickering flames suddenly exploded like a bomb, and the dazzling light emanating from the golden sun almost blinded it.

With a hissing sound, the snake in the stone chamber closed its eyes, but could still feel the burning pain in them. Its [Ouroboros Eye - Left Eye] had temporarily lost its special ability, and its right eye was now completely white. Although its eyes would recover after a while, it knew that even if it tried to observe again, it probably wouldn't succeed.

It was 11 p.m. on Friday night. As the cliff face crumbled, the seal was broken once again by Ellie. Panting, she had transformed back into her little unicorn form. As she landed, the life rings on her back changed from three to four.

This is the ninth of the thirteen seals. As for the eighth seal, it was broken more than ten minutes ago, but it was neither Ellie nor the five candidates who did it.

However, these were not things the little unicorn should be thinking about right now. The continuous battles were also a burden for her, and the listless little beast wanted to rest for a while. Thanks to the flame on Mia's tail, the cave wasn't particularly cold. The cat didn't disturb the little unicorns, who had been working hard all night. After the pure white creatures had settled down for the time being, it jumped off Ellie's furry back and meowed at the blizzard outside the cave.

The cat's meow was exceptionally soft, but the strangely-looking beasts that had approached the cave because of the snake scattered and fled as if they had heard a terrifying sound.

Their escape attracted the attention of another person who happened to be nearby. Adele Isabella, who only knew that Stella had gone to the seventh act but knew nothing about the little unicorn, quickly arrived at the outside of the hidden mountain cave in the direction from which the "pseudo-ringed beasts" had come.

Knowing that Shad would be participating in the game under her own identity, she didn't approach the Radiant Messenger, but instead planned to hunt some dangerous creatures in the mountains first. Because she was unaware of the truth and therefore had no ulterior motive, she was able to smoothly infiltrate the stage.

Of course, this is also because, at the Drowned Ghost Tavern's card table, Ms. White had just drawn a [Support/Healer] card for Ellie.

The white light barrier at the cave entrance, meant to shield from wind and snow and serve as a warning, could not stop this thirteenth-tier Great Witch. Upon entering the cave, she saw the little unicorns huddled together, while Mia looked at her. The Great Witch of Time first showed a gentle expression, then wondered what had happened here.

"Why are you here?"

Ellie was registered in the council, so Mia's existence wasn't a secret to her. She had also seen little Leona during previous major events, so she recognized these adorable little creatures. After checking on the sleeping unicorns, she discovered that although they weren't injured, they had clearly been through several battles recently.

“Poor little ones, how could Claire and the others let you come here alone?”

"Where are you going? It's dangerous in the mountains now. Let me take you back down."

The witch with a beauty mark at the corner of her eye suggested the plan, but Ellie and little Leona both disagreed. The former knew her mission, and the latter didn't want to leave her friend alone there.

Ellie even called out in response, but the witch before them didn't have the ability to communicate directly with unicorns. Feeling that she had recovered quite well, Ellie once again enveloped her body in white light.

Adele thought she was about to cast a spell, so she took two steps back. Then, to her surprise, she saw a barefoot girl in a white robe appear in the light.

Although Ellie had transformed into a human during the War of the Lovers, no one was told of this. Therefore, Adele Isabella, as the chairperson of the Witch Council and theoretically wielding the highest power within the council, was completely unaware of the news.

"Can unicorns turn into humans? Wait a minute, so Megan asked me about unicorns the other day because of this?"

"Kitty, take her away."

Ellie, who could speak directly in her human form, pointed to the top of her head, where a cat had just been lying down.
