Chapter 1646 The Queen's Museum (Long Chapter, Requesting Monthly Tickets)
Chapter 1646 The Queen's Museum (Long Chapter, Requesting Monthly Tickets)
Scattered glimmers of light flickered at the end of the narrow porch, and He Ao walked slowly forward along the faint light of the porch lamp.
His wristband lifted up, displaying the airship flight ticket from Chiccleland to Willens.
The distance between Cecleran and Willens was actually farther than he had anticipated.
Heikelan is not among the 26 cities in the northeastern part of the Federation. It is located in the northwestern corner of the entire northeastern region of the Federation, in a narrow corridor between the Snavis Mountains and the Arctic Ice Field. It is one of the northernmost cities in the Federation and also one of the coldest cities.
Wellens, on the other hand, is located in the southeast of the northeastern part of the Federation, with the northern mountain range of Mint City to its south, and is closer to Mint City.
In other words, the journey from Chiclairan to Willenth spans most of the northeastern region.
Even if you take an express airship, it will take more than a week.
Even by plane, taking a safe route, it would probably take two or three days.
If they take the normal route to Willens, the archbishop's business will probably be finished by the time Heo arrives.
While pondering, He Ao exited the flight ticket purchase interface.
Just then, he walked out of the narrow corridor, and the bright lights and vibrating music echoed in his ears.
A light snowflake drifted down from the sky, scattering across the white-covered streets.
Snowing.
He Ao reached out and caught a drifting snowflake.
Not far away, the city's high-rise buildings were covered in dazzling neon lights, and a convoy carrying a huge ice sculpture was slowly driving towards them from the end of the street in front of He Ao.
He looked up at the convoy.
The most eye-catching ice sculpture in the convoy is a huge human figure about thirty meters high. Her face is covered by a thin layer of ice carved into a light gauze, so her specific appearance cannot be seen. Only her expression can be vaguely seen.
Her hair was tied in a low ponytail that fell over her shoulders, and her gaze swept down over everyone on the street, like a king inspecting his subjects.
At her feet lay an ice dragon.
Ancient and desolate music filled the convoy, and dancers dressed in thick woolen clothes danced to the music.
Crowds packed both sides of the street, holding up wristbands and cameras, cheering and shouting.
Behind the giant human-shaped ice sculpture, there is also a giant, 'moving' ice dragon statue. The ice dragon is so lifelike that it keeps turning its head to look at both sides, and in rhythm with the music, it lets out a trembling 'roar'.
Many children and young people flocked to the street to wait for the ice dragon statue to come over so that their companions or parents could take pictures of them.
The ice dragon statue would also cooperate, lingering a little longer in areas where children were taking photos.
It's clear that the outer layer of this ice dragon is an ice sculpture, while the inner layer is likely some kind of mechanical creation, being manipulated by humans.
It's past midnight now, but the nightlife in this icy city seems to be just beginning. The pulsating music accompanies the noisy crowds, creating a dazzling spectacle against the backdrop of neon lights on distant skyscrapers.
As He Ao watched, the convoy, accompanied by cheering crowds, approached his location.
He stepped back a few paces to the side of the street, making room and distancing himself from the rousing music.
He raised his wristband and dialed a number.
After a series of busy signals, the call was answered, and Reed's slightly groggy voice came from the other end, "Loren? You're in Willens? So fast?"
“No,” Heo shook his head, covering his other ear amidst the vibrating music, and said quickly, “There was a slight mishap in the middle, and I’m in Chiclairan now.”
"How did you end up in Heclairan?" Reed asked, still dazed, before his voice snapped back to reality and rose a few octaves. "You're in Heclairan? You're not kidding? What happened to you? How are you? Do you need backup?"
“I’m doing alright right now,” Heo said, glancing at his hand, which was slowly healing beneath his fur coat. “But I have something to say to Denon, Reed. I need your help to contact Denon as soon as possible.”
“Okay,” Reed on the other end of the phone realized something was amiss. “I’ll try to contact the chairman now. If I get through, I’ll call you back as soon as possible.”
“Okay,” He Ao nodded slightly, “I’ll wait for your call.”
He hung up the phone, looked ahead, and took a deep breath.
The spot where he had been standing was now filled with a large crowd, and the huge convoy had already passed by.
A group of people dressed in various styles followed behind the convoy, greeting the people outside.
That appeared to be some kind of special costume parade.
He then noticed that there were also quite a few people in the crowd dressed in strange ways.
It seems to be some kind of 'program'.
"Sir, would you like to buy a Queen Ice Cream?" Just then, a voice rang in He's ears.
She was a young woman pushing a cart, wearing a white work uniform.
On her little cart were displayed a variety of unique ice creams.
Some were shaped like ice dragons, and others seemed to be shaped like knights, but none were shaped like queens. It seems that the Heikelan people really respected their queen.
He's gaze fell on the price tags of the ice creams.
5 Federal Coins/each
This price instantly brought He Ao back to reality from the phone call he had just been in.
A regular ice cream in the Federal Reserve is usually 50 cents, but there are also three for one Federal Coin, and five Federal Coins is almost ten times the price.
Sure enough, prices at tourist attractions are high.
“By the way,” Heo looked at her, suddenly remembered something, and asked slowly, “Where should I go if I want to see information and records related to the Queen?”
“Then you should go to the Queen’s Museum,” the staff member smiled. “The Queen’s Museum is open 24 hours a day, and you can enter for free if you have a federal Social Security card, driver’s license, or passport.”
She raised her hand and pointed behind her, “The Queen’s Museum is in the Queen’s Borough where we are. Just walk a few blocks ahead. If you want to take a taxi, you can use Vidal Mobility or Music Pass. Both apps make it easy to hail a taxi in the Queen’s Borough. However, the streets around here are currently a parade zone and are blocked off. You will need to leave here and go to a street where cars can pass through to get a taxi.”
"Thank you," He Ao said, looking at her with surprise. "You're very professional."
“Welcome to Cichliland,” the staff member smiled and gestured to her uniform. “If you have any questions, feel free to ask any of our staff members you encounter on the way. May the Queen bless you.”
"Thank you," He Ao nodded slightly, "I hope the Queen will bless you too."
He glanced down at the staff's cart and asked, "Could I have one of those ice dragon ice creams?"
"Of course." The staff member smiled and took out an ice cream cone, handing it to He Ao.
“By the way,” she looked at He Ao and asked cautiously, “I was just about to ask you, did you do this hairstyle on purpose?”
He Ao's face was covered in wounds. He was wearing leather gloves and a tiger-skin coat. He was holding a cracked ceramic doll in his arms, and a long spear with a tree branch-like shaft and a crystal tip was tied to his back with tiger skin.
The design does look rather 'eye-catching'.
“Not entirely.” He Ao shook his head and took the ice cream.
The staff member glanced at He Ao and said slowly, "If you need treatment for external injuries, there is a hospital affiliated with Qunxing Pharmaceuticals if you walk down the street."
It seems she smelled the blood on He Ao. Since this is the entrance to the city, it's likely she's encountered an injured person before.
She paused, then lowered her voice, "You can also go across two blocks to Qiming Hospital. It's cheap; I've never seen a hospital that's both affordable and good, cough..."
Then she coughed lightly, "If anyone asks you why you went there, don't say I said it. Qiming Hospital didn't pay the company for advertising."
After saying that, she looked up, and with He Ao's soft "Okay, thank you," she quickly walked past He Ao and went to ask the next customer.
He Ao glanced at the ice cream cone in his hand and looked in the direction the staff had left.
In other words, besides Qiming Hospital, are the other things mentioned earlier—Qunxing Hospital, ride-hailing apps—all specifically highlighted because advertising fees were paid?
This travel company in Chiccleland is quite shrewd in business.
He Ao raised his eyes and looked at the noisy crowd in front of him.
I didn't expect Qiming Hospital to open here.
However, given his current injuries and his status as a superhuman, ordinary medicine cannot cure him.
He doesn't need treatment for the time being, as Siwei's 'restoration' power has been enveloping him, which in a sense has the effect of 'full-body healing'.
He took a bite of his ice cream, looked up, and gazed into the depths of the street.
-
Museum of the Queen of the North
He Ao got out of the taxi and glanced at the time on his wristband.
3:
He looked up at the glass building in front of him, which was decorated like a giant ice and snow crown.
This museum is quite impressive.
He slowly walked to the museum entrance, took out the temporary card he had received when he entered the city, and swiped it at the access control.
The metal scanner behind the access control scanned his body, and then the green light came on.
click -
With a soft click, the access control door opened.
The security guard standing at the gate glanced at him, then looked away.
Clearly, there are quite a few people dressed like He Ao at night, and he's gotten used to it.
This security guard clearly lacked the keen sense of the staff member who had just entered the city gate, and couldn't tell whether the 'injuries' on He Ao's face were makeup or real injuries.
The Spear of Vestas also looks more like a role-playing prop than a real weapon.
He Ao walked into the museum and glanced at the metal scanner next to him.
He had previously had some doubts about the composition of the Spear of Vistara, but now it seems that the spear indeed contains very little metal.
He continued forward and entered the museum.
The museum's interior is a circular building with a bright and large central atrium.
A huge, snow-white statue stands inside this courtyard.
Unlike the ice sculptures He Ao had seen on the road before.
The statue sits on a large throne, and the figure depicted in the statue is more mature than the ice sculptures outside.
The woman in the statue is voluptuous, with her hair styled in a soft updo. She wears a simple yet exquisite crown, and a strand of hair falls from her face, adorned with a delicate gemstone. She gazes down with gentle kindness.
The woman's features are much clearer and more detailed than the ice sculptures outside, and she looks dignified and kind.
He stared at the face, at the gemstone tied to the hair beside it, meeting the gaze of the statue.
The statue looked only about three or four parts similar to the Kayla he remembered; the difference in appearance was quite significant, and the statue had gained a lot of weight.
Normally, as an being above angels, Kayla would probably be immortal.
He Ao shook his head, pulled back the thoughts that had popped into his mind, and headed towards the first exhibition hall of the museum from the main hall.
The name of this hall is very simple; it is simply called the 'Queen's Hall'.
Upon entering the first exhibition room, there was an oil painting hanging on the wall, which looked no different from the statues outside, except that an ice dragon was coiled around its feet.
He looked down and glanced at the title of the portrait: "Portrait of the Queen of the North (Restored)".
I don't know what it was based on.
He Ao continued walking inside, and the next exhibition hall was a huge, open hall with a floor made of a single piece of transparent glass.
Below the glass are building ruins that appear to be made of piled-up earth and stones.
A sign stands at the entrance of the exhibition hall: "Ancient Chicclelan City Ruins (Partial Reconstruction)"
Unlike the ethereal and fantastical Queen of the North, the ancient city of Heclairan is definitively established, and the ruins of its former buildings can be unearthed in the permafrost near the present-day city of Heclairan.
He gazed at the city buildings beneath his feet, which were far more exquisite than the architecture of the city-states of Roc he had seen in the historical world.
Gushikelland certainly looks like a prosperous place.
"According to scholars, during the Great Cataclysm, the environment of Heclairan was not as cold as it is now; on the contrary, it was once a fertile regional center..."
Holographic projections are playing on the walls on both sides of the hall, showcasing the environment, customs, and culture of ancient Xikelan.
At this time of day, there aren't many people visiting the museum. He Ao looked up and only saw two or three figures.
He Ao walked through the hall of this ancient building and arrived at the next exhibition room.
This exhibition room appears to be displaying items from the Queen's personal belongings.
At the entrance to the exhibition hall stands a high-backed throne with a camellia emblem, which is probably a replica for taking photos.
When He Ao walked in, he saw a young couple taking pictures while sitting on the throne.
Behind the throne are a series of simple yet exquisitely crafted items.
There are crystal mirrors that are claimed to have been used by the Queen, and jeweled dressing tables that are also claimed to have been used by the Queen.
Anyway, if you look at the parentheses after it, they all say 'restore'.
However, these items are all quite exquisitely crafted, and their aesthetics and craftsmanship are quite different from those of the Federation today. The overall color scheme is darker, giving them a unique, rustic, and dignified beauty.
Even if it was a restoration, it must have involved observing, studying, and restoring many genuine old objects from Chicclelan.
He Ao looked away from these things, moved forward in the exhibition hall, and then his gaze fell on a glass display case in the middle of the hall.
In that display case hung a dazzling gemstone.
I need some votes at the end of the month.
