Chapter 415 Stop!

"Stop it! You can't do this!"

Fleur burst from the woods with a sharp pop when she saw Charles, wand drawn, and a flock of birds were frightened and flew off into the sunset.

Gabrielle cried out with joy when she saw her sister coming.

The main course tonight is a baguette, bought yesterday, which is now very firm and Charles is about to break it.

Fleur rescued the baguette from Charles's hand, and a hammer as big as a casserole appeared on the top of the magic wand. It hit Charles' head and many colorful and sparkling stars popped out.

She said to Charles very seriously, "Sprinkle some water on it, put it in the oven and bake it for a while, and it will be soft again when you take it out."

"Then I'll leave it to you." Charles asked, "Are you on vacation?"

Furong replied, "I just came back a few days ago."

Charles did not ask further questions. It was a foregone conclusion that the top three competition would be held next semester, and everyone would be rivals then. It was better not to talk about some topics, as eating roast goose was the most important thing.

He was not surprised that Furong was able to find him. They both had that set of necklaces and could find each other.

While Fleur was making a salad, Charles began to teach Gabrielle how to make mustard butter chicken drumsticks:

Debone the chicken thighs, spread them out, sprinkle some black pepper and salt, heat olive oil in a pan and fry the skin side first, fry until golden brown and then turn over. After taking out the chicken thighs, do not change the oil, then fry the diced bacon and take it out, then add chopped onions and minced garlic and sauté them, then add thyme and the real mushrooms bought from the supermarket. After frying, add some white wine, then add the concentrated broth bought from the supermarket, light cream, and mustard sauce, stir well and sprinkle some black pepper and salt, finally put the chicken thighs and bacon in and cook for a few minutes, sprinkle some chopped parsley before serving.

During the meal, Fleur said to Charles, "I didn't expect that paper you wrote about growing herbs would cause such a stir."

Charles said: "I went straight to your house after returning from Moscow, and then came to Switzerland with Gabrielle. I don't know what happened."

Furong said, "After your paper was published, someone attacked your home and tried to kidnap your grandfather."

Gabrielle exclaimed, "Is Charles's grandfather okay?"

Charles also exclaimed: "Is that man still alive?"

Fleur looked at Charles with a strange expression and replied, "Mr. Smith is fine. I heard that your family's alarm magic immediately notified the Aurors."

Charles said seriously, "That's good. We can find out who did it."

Gabrielle heaved a sigh of relief after hearing this.

Fleur continued: "Mr. Smith later made a speech in the British newspapers, severely criticizing the International Statute of Secrecy."

Charles blinked, his intuition telling him that something was wrong.

He then asked Furong: "What does France think about this?"

Fleur said: "The newspapers don't have any opinions, they just report what happened in the UK and the reactions of other countries."

"The Americans seemed very angry, and the newspapers were harshly critical of Britain's actions."

Charles nodded.

The British and French Ministries of Magic have not been dealing with each other for hundreds of years, and even if they don't object to each other's affairs, they will still make some sarcastic remarks.

I guess the British approach this time has left France confused, so they'll just wait and see how the situation develops.

The reaction from the United States was also expected. The people of this country are very divided. Some are very open, with reports of beautiful teachers doing indecent things to their students every now and then. Some are also very conservative, and in the extremely conservative places, Charles and Gabrielle are both of marriageable age, and the same is true in the wizarding society.

"Forget about them." Charles shook his head. "It's just right that you're back. I'll return Gabrielle to you. I was originally planning to go to China."

Gabrielle asked curiously, "Where are you going to play?"

Seeing her eager look, it was obvious that she wanted to go along.

Charles was in a bit of a dilemma. Going there was troublesome for both wizards and Muggles, so he went through the British Ministry of Magic. In addition, his grandfather was a shareholder of an air fryer company, so he was able to get a visa.

Fleur said to her sister, "Charles is not like you. He plays all day long."

Gabrielle whispered, "I know."

Charles said to Gabrielle, "I have to deal with the air fryer company. We will see each other soon."

It's already August, and the Triwizard Tournament will be held next semester. I wonder if Gabrielle will come to Hogwarts with Beauxbatons' "preschool class".

Gabrielle asked curiously, "Isn't that 'air fryer' a curse that ruins the chicken?"

Charles didn't want to answer and changed the subject: "What do you want to eat tomorrow?"

Gabrielle asked, "Can we cook with those apples?"

When they went there to play yesterday, they found several apple trees by a stream. They might have grown there from previous tourists or passers-by who ate apples and threw the seeds there. The fruits were not big and were only half ripe.

Charles thought for a moment and said, "Apples can be used to stew pork chops."

"Great!" Gabrielle cheered, "Let's go pick apples tomorrow!"

The three of them finished their meal and chatted for a while. Gabrielle was tired after playing all day, so Furong took her back to the cabin to rest.

There was a fence around the bed on the right side of the door. Gabrielle blushed and explained seriously: "Charles has a bad sleeping posture and falls off the bed at night, so I helped him to surround the bed." Furong didn't know how Charles slept, but she knew her sister very well, so she just reached out and pinched her nose.

Gabrielle realized she had been exposed and laughed awkwardly.

Fleur put Gabrielle on the bed and sniffed. She was relieved to find that there was no scent of Charles.

After Gabrielle fell asleep, Fleur walked out of the cabin and found Charles setting up the tent.

She asked, "What are you doing with the tent?"

Charles asked her curiously, "You want to go back now?"

Furong said, "No."

Charles said: "There was only one bed in the room, so of course I slept in a tent."

Fleur blushed and said, "It's too dangerous outside. I can sleep with Gabrielle."

Charles shook his head and said, "Forget it. It's okay if the railing is kicked. I'm afraid the wall will be kicked down."

After all, Furong is a grown-up girl. Even if she lives with Gabrielle, if she moves in alone, there will be a lot of trouble.

You have to avoid suspicion, otherwise you won't be able to pass the Alchemy class, which will be even worse than Harry's Potions class, and no one will help you speak up.

Furong added: "Then I will live in a tent."

Charles shook his head and said, "I don't want to be a textbook for alchemy class yet."

Furong had no choice but to let him do what he wanted. She sat down on a chair nearby and found a topic to start a conversation.

She asked, "I heard you paid Louis Manz a very high salary?"

Charles responded, "Yeah, we think he deserves the salary."

Furong continued, "Manz's girlfriend is a Spanish wizard. Her family is an official family of the Spanish Ministry of Magic. The two of them are in a family marriage. Fortunately, they get along well."

"Now Manz has no intention of developing in the French Ministry of Magic, and the Spanish side wants to break off the engagement, so she ran to Iceland and became a painter."

Charles nodded and said, "I see, no wonder he wants to buy a house in Hogsmeade."

Iceland is about eight or nine hundred kilometers away from Hogsmeade, and the distance from Hogsmeade to London is about the same, which is not far for wizards.

Charles continued, "Do you remember Valentina? After graduating this year, she went to work in a place in the Arctic Circle. The temperature there is more than 30 degrees below zero in winter and more than 30 degrees above zero in summer."

"That place has a very special magic. When people leave, they will forget what happened there and only remember it when they return."

Furong said, "She must like that job very much. I still remember the way she talked about her association in Uagadou."

Charles nodded and said, "Yes, I think that place should be related to her hobby."

He really wanted to see Kodosdoriz's magic high-altitude aircraft, but when he went there at the beginning of the year to visit he was turned away, so he had to give up.

The tent was set up, and Charles held out his hand and asked, "I'm going to town to buy food for tomorrow. Do you want to come with me?"

Fleur nodded and took the outstretched paw as Charles Apparated her to the woods next to the town.

"You can Apparate?!" Furong suddenly realized that something was wrong.

Charles smiled and whispered, "Please keep it a secret for me."

Fleur nodded immediately. This secret included being kept from Beauxbatons.

"Too much candy!" Fleur hit Charles on the back.

Charles said: "Playing in the mountains is very physically demanding. Gabrielle is still young and needs to replenish her energy."

Furong could only shake her head when she saw him giving a bunch of excuses.

"What would you like to eat?" Charles asked her. "You don't try to stay in shape, do you?"

Furong shook her head and said, "I don't like snacks."

"Really?" Charles said with a smile, "Then don't eat it if I buy it."

He had already found out from Gabrielle what Furong liked to eat, so he picked out the food for her and even asked for her opinion before buying it.

Furong pinched his hand angrily.

The next day, the group came to the place where the apple trees grew.

The apples were small, and only the half facing south had turned red. The two sisters picked a lot of them.

It is very simple to stew pork chops with apples. First, fry the pork chops coated with black pepper until both sides are golden brown. Then fry the chopped onions. Then put the apple slices on top, with the pork chops on top. Since the apples are not fully ripe, add some brown sugar. Finally, add water and seasonings and simmer for ten minutes.

After eating and drinking, clean up and make sure all the fires are out, it's time to go back.
