Days wandering around Hogwarts

Chapter 369 The reason is found

Chapter 369 The reason is found

"Unfamiliar ceiling."

When Charles woke up, he found himself lying in an unfamiliar place. His entire torso was firmly fixed. His hands could still move, but his feet seemed to be offline.

"Hey, you're awake?" Eleanor was sitting by the bed peeling an apple. When she saw him wake up, she called the therapist and nurse on duty to come and check on him.

After examining Charles, the therapist told him that his lumbar vertebrae had grown back, but the nerves inside had not fully recovered; his intestines had been connected but there was still a hole; his kidneys were fine.

After the therapist and nurse left, Eleanor chewed an apple while scolding Charles: "I heard that you are lucky this time. If it weren't for Peeves, you would have almost died."

"I see you are such a smart person, how could you be so stupid as to use dangerous and unfamiliar spells? Did the Fat Lady pinch your head?"

"If Dumbledore hadn't questioned Peeves, who would have thought that you actually wanted to learn to walk through walls like Peeves? Are you trying to sneak into the girls' bathroom?"

Eleanor didn't stop until the nurse came with new medicine.

After Charles drank the medicine, he asked Eleanor, "How many days was I unconscious?"

"A whole week!" Eleanor said unhappily, "You also know what's going on now. The Ministry of Magic is terrified. They think someone has done it in Hogwarts, so they sent Aurors to investigate."

Charles was surprised and said, "Ah? The whole ministry knows about it?"

"You thought," Eleanor threw the core of the apple into the trash can, "it was on the front page of the Daily Prophet."

Charles blinked, this matter had become such a big deal.

Elinor continued, "Little Miss Delacour came to see you two days ago at the weekend."

"Ah?" Charles was startled. "Gabrielle is here?"

He thought it was not surprising. This matter was so serious that Professor Delacour must know about it. If Mrs. Delacour came over at the weekend, she would definitely mention it. It would not be surprising if Gabrielle knew about it.

"Hehe..." Eleanor smiled, "Miss Delacour secretly put a candy in your mouth, and the healer only discovered it when he was feeding you medicine."

Charles was at a loss for words and didn't know what to say.

Eleanor pointed to a glass bottle on the bedside and said, "She left the candy. The therapist said that you can only eat after your intestines are fully recovered. You can only drink a little water. If you are hungry, you can hold the candy in your mouth."

"I'll be back when you wake up. The Minister is waiting to hear from you. If you need anything, please ask the therapist on duty."

After she finished speaking, she stood up and was about to leave.

Charles said to her, "Thank you."

Eleanor said nothing, just waved and left.

The ward fell silent. Charles lay quietly on the bed, unable to do anything but stare blankly.

Since he had nothing to do, he began to review what happened that night.

He was trying out a spell he had learned from the stickman in the painting, which allowed him to pass through walls like Peeves.

For this purpose, he even asked Peeves for help, asking him what it felt like when the state of penetrating walls changed between being passable and not passable. Peeves rolled his eyes when he heard it.

Charles failed to get any useful help from Peeves, and then began to experiment.

But he didn't expect that something went wrong the first time he cast the spell, and he was stuck on the floor and became one with it.

Charles was puzzled. He had made all the preparations, so why did he fail?
He thought about it from day till night, when someone came to visit him.

"Awake." Grindelwald asked Charles curiously, "How did you do it? You actually stuck yourself on the floor. I've been trying to figure it out for days."

Jack first asked the therapist on duty, and after learning that Charles couldn't eat yet, he gave the pot of French red wine beef stew he brought to the therapist and nurse. Grindelwald used a little trick to distract the therapist and nurse from paying attention to this side. Jack also asked Charles curiously: "How did you do it? Is it the wall-walking technique of the Taoist priests of Laoshan?"

Charles replied, "I found an ancient spell in a chamber of secrets in Hogwarts Castle that allows people to pass through walls like Peeves."

"I failed during my experiment that night. I was only halfway successful."

Jack asked, "What does the spell look like?"

He wanted to see what kind of spell it was and find out whether it was a problem with the spell or with Charles.

Charles replied, "In the red notebook in my pocket."

His bag was in the bedside table, and Jack took it out and flipped through it, his expression becoming odd.

Grindelwald saw it and asked Jack with a smile: "Why, there's a little girl in there?"

Jack nodded.

Grindelwald was just joking, but he didn't expect it to be true, so he asked again: "See if you are still breathing?"

Jack shook his head.

Grindelwald said nonchalantly: "It doesn't matter. Wizards who often kill people know... uh..."

Jack took out a life-size steel figure of King Sarge from his bag. Grindelwald was silent for a moment, and finally said, "This kid has grown up."

Charles said in a frown, "That's the security guard for Farbaton Castle!"

Grindelwald just smiled and said "Ah yes, yes".

Jack took out the notebook where Charles recorded spells, turned to the part where the spell was recorded and began to study it. Grindelwald also leaned over to take a look out of curiosity.

"Haha..." Grindelwald sneered after reading a few lines, "I know where the problem lies."

Charles immediately asked, "What's the problem?"

Academically, he believed that Grindelwald's abilities, especially his experience, were not something he could surpass in a short period of time.

Grindelwald shook his head and said, "I didn't expect you to make such a mistake. You know, these are Middle English from fifteen centuries ago. The letters and words are different from the English we have today."

Charles nodded and said, "I know."

Grindelwald asked him, "Do you know the difference in pronunciation?"

Charles opened his mouth but couldn't say anything for a long time. He had indeed not considered this.

It is obvious that he used modern English pronunciation when pronouncing the spell, rather than Middle English pronunciation.

Jack went on to say, "Indeed, the spells and wand trajectories of spells change with language. This change is very long, and few wizards who do not study the history of spells can detect it."

He concluded: "In the end, you were just too stupid. I thought you were bullied by someone and rushed back from Shunde before I even finished eating half of the fish skin."

Charles was speechless.

After asking, he found out that when Ruby sent the letter back, it was Harry who wrote the letter to tell the old man about it.

Jack finally said, "If you are okay, I will leave. My friend in Foshan said he would treat me to some yunzha pig's trotter."

All Charles could say was, "Pack a copy and have Ruby send it back."
