Wu Xiaoxie tentatively opened his eyes a crack, squinted, and looked around. There wasn't a single monkey left, let alone any monkeys.

He immediately breathed a sigh of relief, his tense nerves relaxed, and he felt sore and weak all over. His knees buckled and he was about to fall to one side, so Lao Yang quickly helped him sit down.

There was no way to lie down; it was such a tiny place that it was already quite an achievement to be able to stand on it. During the fight, he had almost fallen several times due to his excessive movements.

With the crisis temporarily averted, Wu Xiaoxie put the gun back in his pocket and rubbed his temples with his thumbs to relieve the dizziness.

During the commotion just now, one of their backpacks fell off. The worst part was that the backpack contained food. Luckily, Lao Yang had the foresight to put two compressed biscuits and water in each of their other two backpacks. Otherwise, with such a huge physical exertion and empty stomachs, if another wave of monkeys came, the three of them would have been wiped out.
