Chapter 108 Graffiti Skeleton
Chapter 108 Graffiti Skeleton
Wu Xiaoxie was awakened by the pain, as if countless tiny needles were simultaneously piercing his body, causing excruciating pain and causing cold sweat to pour out.
For a moment, he even felt that he might as well just die; being forced to live like this was something most people couldn't endure.
While he was still half asleep, he suddenly felt a hand place a warm, damp towel on his forehead. He was puzzled and wanted to open his eyes to see which kind fairy had saved him.
My eyelids had barely fluttered twice when a voice that was all too familiar reached my ears.
"woke up?"
Huh? Wu Xiaoxie was slightly surprised. It was a wooden fish?
His eyelids felt incredibly heavy, as if he were experiencing sleep paralysis. He could sense the activity of the people around him, but he couldn't move at all.
He could even smell the aroma of the seafood hot pot, making his mouth water. He could also vaguely hear Fatty's voice and Muyu talking. The two seemed to be talking about Xiao Ge, the taciturn guy.
The fat guy even yelled at him in a strange voice to wake up and eat fish. Huh? Wu Xiaoxie was even more confused. What was going on? Had the fat guy and his friends come to the Qinling Mountains too?
That's great! Wu Xiaoxie was quite happy that they were together again; it really was fate.
Now that he's in such a miserable state, that fat guy will definitely laugh at him for being a complete weakling.
Lost in thought, he fell asleep again.
Wu Xiaoxie slept exceptionally well and finally woke up completely. He immediately tried to sit up, but the pain in his back pulled him back down.
Wu Xiaoxie's face was contorted with pain. Damn it, what sins did he commit in his past life that made him the unluckiest person every time?
After lying on the ground for a while to recover, and once the pain subsided, Wu Xiaoxie carefully got up. He felt his wrist was swollen, and when he touched it, he found it was swollen, probably because it had been dislocated and then reattached.
He frantically searched his body with both hands, and only breathed a sigh of relief after confirming that he was not missing any parts.
It was pitch black here, with only a half-extinguished fire. There wasn't a soul in sight except for him. It was all just an illusion, really.
Wu Xiaoxie sighed heavily, turned over, and used his elbows to support himself as he slowly crawled toward the fire. He estimated that he had broken several ribs and his left leg was also fractured. It had been immobilized with a makeshift splint made of tree branches, so he couldn't move around much.
Suddenly, Wu Xiaoxie touched something in his hand. He touched it and was delighted. It was a mountaineering flashlight, which should still work.
He turned on his flashlight, and the blinding white light instantly illuminated his surroundings.
This is the interior of a cave. In front of the fire, there is a crack about the width of a person. When the light shines in, you can see that there is another cave inside.
"Lao Yang?" Wu Xiaoxie called out twice. "Lao Yang, are you in there?"
His injuries had clearly been treated; the person who treated him was either Muyu or Laoyang, with Wu Xiaoxie leaning more towards Laoyang. Thinking of Muyu, whose whereabouts remained unknown, Wu Xiaoxie felt an overwhelming sadness.
Sniffing the sore nose, Wu Xiaoxie sighed, mustered his spirits, and, holding a flashlight, climbed toward the crack.
Once inside, Wu Xiaoxie propped himself up against a rock, panting heavily, and looked around while resting, shining a flashlight around.
It's a little smaller than half the size of the outside, and you can see it clearly at a glance. There's no way Lao Yang could be inside.
Wu Xiaoxie had no intention of staying any longer and turned to climb back outside when suddenly, something flashed before his eyes as the flashlight swept across him.
Upon closer inspection, Wu Xiaoxie discovered that there were some childlike scribbles carved on the stone wall where he had just rested. He initially thought that these were carved by people who had entered the area before, but upon closer inspection, he realized that they were actually an airplane and a few scattered English letters.
This is something from modern times!
Wu Xiaoxie was a little confused. What kind of person would be so bored as to come to this godforsaken place to draw airplanes? What's going on?
The lower half of the graffiti was covered by some loose stones underneath. Wu Xiaoxie moved the stones aside to see what it was.
When the rubble had been cleared away, Wu Xiaoxie's hand touched a piece of rag. He pulled it hard and heard a series of scraping sounds. He shone his flashlight closer and was immediately terrified.
It turned out that the tattered cloth wrapped around a human skeleton that had already decomposed and become skeletal.
The muscles on its two hands had all fallen off, and they stood upright in front of its body like claws, as if it wanted to dig through the rubble that buried it and get out, but it eventually suffocated to death.
Wu Xiaoxie was startled at first, but then calmed down and moved the rubble that was pressing on the skeleton. Soon, a complete skeleton appeared in front of him.
The clothes wrapped around the skeleton had been soaked in the corpse fluid and were now a tangled mess, making it impossible to discern their texture. However, he managed to pull a protective amulet necklace from the skeleton's chest. Judging from this, the person must have been a fellow tomb raider who came here a long time ago. For some reason, he hid in this cave and was eventually crushed to death by the collapsing rubble.
Wu Xiaoxie had previously observed signs of a collapse in the cave, which may have occurred around that time.
There was a two-finger-wide strap around one of the skeleton's shoulders; it was of good quality, and Wu Xiaoxie guessed it was probably a very sturdy hiking backpack.
Sure enough, following the strap, a few more pebbles were lifted, revealing a black backpack that looked reasonably intact.
The zipper was embroidered off. Wu Xiaoxie casually ripped it open, revealing the core inside. A pile of dry black powder flew towards him. Wu Xiaoxie threw off his backpack and quickly dodged backward. The backpack was thrown against the stone wall and fell headfirst. Everything inside fell out. When he picked it up, he saw that it was a notebook wrapped in oilcloth.
Wu Xiaoxie opened the book. The first part contained some geographical locations and phone numbers written in blue ballpoint pen. After glancing at it, he found no useful information and flipped through the pages. Then he paused for a moment and saw that the next part was a diary written in the same pen. Judging from the date, it was from three years ago.
