Chapter 105 White Robe and Mask
The people in the snow walked very fast and arrived in front of Wu Xiaoxie in the blink of an eye.

At this moment, he didn't care about the danger. He stumbled and ran towards those people, but halfway there, someone picked him up like a chick and then draped a snow-white cloak over his head and body.

The person carrying him spoke. Wu Xiaoxie felt that these people were very tall. He looked up and could only see the lower half of the person's face that was not covered by the mask. The person's mouth moved and uttered a string of strange words.

Wu Xiaoxie was completely bewildered because he couldn't understand what the person was saying at all.

Seeing that Wu Xiaoxie didn't answer, the man probably thought he was frozen stiff in the freezing cold. He rubbed his face with his rough hands, then grabbed him under his armpits and lifted him up, holding him like a child on his arm.

Wait a minute!
Holding a baby?
Wu Xiaoxie stretched out his hand and looked at it, and was horrified to find that his originally slender and elegant hand had turned into a short, chubby little child's hand!

Good luck!
What's happening here?
Wu Xiaoxie was so startled he almost fell backward, and frantically grabbed the man's neck.

The man chuckled twice, patted Wu Xiaoxie's bottom to signal him to sit down, walked back to rejoin the main group, and then went up to the leader-like man and said a few words to him.

The leader also wore a silver-white mask that covered the upper half of his face. Upon hearing this, he raised his eyelids and glanced at Wu Xiaoxie. When that gaze swept over him, Wu Xiaoxie felt a chill run down his spine, as if he had fallen into an ice cellar. Those eyes were extremely indifferent, without the slightest human emotion in them.

Surprisingly, the leader's eyes were a very rare golden color!
It wasn't amber, but a pure bright gold, with the whites of the eyes around the pupils a hazy pale gold.

Wu Xiaoxie was startled. He seemed to have seen those eyes somewhere before. Perhaps he was too cold, because his mind was blank at the moment.

Before he could think it through, the person holding Wu Xiaoxie covered his eyes with his hand and said a few more words. Wu Xiaoxie could hear the pleading in his tone. After a while, Wu Xiaoxie saw the leader nod through his fingers, and then the group continued to go up the steps.

Wu Xiaoxie was held in a warm embrace, his frozen body gradually warming up, and his brain quickly analyzed the current situation.

He was certain that the body he was in, which resembled a child's, was not his own, and the reason for this was currently unknown.

What were these white-robed men doing? Who were they? Wu Xiaoxie only caught a few frequently occurring words from their snippets of conversation: "e wu chi le".

What does it mean?
With his mind completely blank, perhaps because his body was that of a child, Wu Xiaoxie only thought for a short while before feeling extremely sleepy. Under the soothing sound of the bell, he finally couldn't resist falling asleep.

When Wu Xiaoxie woke up again, he found himself lying on a small bed. His mind was still a little foggy. He rubbed his head to try to clear his head and then began to observe his surroundings.

This was a stone temple, much smaller than the one he had seen before. Inside, a brazier burned, providing both warmth and light.

By the firelight, he could make out the carvings on the stone wall. He was momentarily at a loss for words; the carvings resembled both beasts and birds. The uppermost part was obscured by the firelight and not clearly visible, but the enormous claws at the bottom indicated that it was a colossal creature. The fact that it could be carved here with such exquisite craftsmanship meant it was no ordinary graffiti; perhaps this was the totem worshipped by the white-robed men. However, the totem seemed to be crippled; Wu Xiaoxie craned his neck until it ached but still couldn't find the fourth claw.

Just then, the heavy felt curtain was lifted, and a little boy dressed in a white robe walked in, carrying a stone box in his hands. He quickly walked to Wu Xiaoxie's bedside and put it down, then mumbled something. Unfortunately, Wu Xiaoxie really couldn't understand it, otherwise he could have extracted a lot of information.

Wu Xiaoxie opened his mouth, but finally sighed.

The little boy seemed to have only come to deliver something and didn't seem to care about the struggle on his face. He simply pointed to the stone box on the bed, indicating that he should open it.

Wu Xiaoxie examined the stone box. It had a mechanism and lock, but fortunately it wasn't too complicated. After some effort, he managed to unlock it.

Lifting the lid revealed a white cloak, made of the same material as the white-robed adults, with similar patterns.

Little Bean gestured for Wu Xiaoxie to change into the clothes in the box, then took his hand and walked out of the stone hall.

The fog outside was very thick, and visibility was so low that Wu Xiaoxie could only see faint gray figures moving through the fog, and hear the continuous sound of bells.

Wu Xiaoxie followed the little bean to a low platform with a blank look on his face and received his own smaller octagonal lantern and half a mask.

He hadn't seen it clearly before, but after getting the mask, Wu Xiaoxie discovered that it also had faint patterns engraved on it. These patterns looked somewhat familiar, but he couldn't remember where he had seen them before, no matter how hard he tried.

Just then, a deep bell rang out, and the figures in the mist began to converge in the same direction.

Wu Xiaoxie was squeezed by the crowd and had no choice but to follow the main group. Suddenly, his hand was empty. He looked down and saw that the little boy who had been holding his hand was gone.

Wu Xiaoxie panicked for a moment and hurriedly looked around. The bustling figures in the mist had all disappeared, and it seemed that he was the only one left in the whole world.
