Chapter 903 Dragon Hunting Fortress

Chapter 903 Dragon Hunting Fortress
"That makes sense! Let's go to Pingnan City!" Lafit Anthony readily agreed. After all, what good would the Knights do? Show off their lousy archery skills to tickle someone else? Or become someone else's target?
"I believe the brothers in Lulong City can definitely take care of that thing with the fortress!" Lafit Anthony gave a thumbs up, showing his approval of the fortress's firepower!

……

"Lance? Where are Caslo and the others!" Roland rushed over as soon as he landed, only to find Lance and the others sitting on wooden stumps, showing off their rice bowls.

"Your Majesty!" Lance and the others immediately stood up, put down their plates, and respectfully greeted Roland.

"Alright, let's not talk about that now. Where are Caslo and the others? Didn't you see those three people? And two dragons?" Roland gestured with his hand, indicating the length of a large living person.

"Them? Didn't they all run away yesterday?" Ravian picked up the plate and continued to eat the meat and bread soup inside.

"Would you like some, Your Majesty? It tastes quite good!" Mogus also picked up his plate and recommended.

"No? They ran away? Weren't you guys harassing the undead? Caslo called for help saying there was a Corpse Dragon!" Roland knew more than they thought, after all, the system quest notification mentioned the existence of an undead Ice Dragon King!

"Aww! A huge frost bone dragon came out yesterday, and then His Majesty Caslo and the others led that thing toward Lulong Fortress! Lavian and Mogus saw it with their own eyes!" Lance gestured to the two of them.

"...Frost Bone Dragon? It really exists?" A hint of amusement suddenly appeared in Adolf Heinrich's eyes. Clearly, as a seeker of truth, Adolf Heinrich was very interested in exploring knowledge; after all, a true dragon-level undead was a rare find! Most of the bone dragons researched by the Empire were patchwork bone dragons created by necromancers using necromancy—essentially the Pinduoduo of the undead world, just dragon-shaped undead cobbled together from various sources!

But this is a real undead spirit transformed from the corpse of a frost dragon! Where were there any corpse dragons for humans to study before? What audacious person would dare to dig up a dragon's tomb? That would be like lighting a lamp in a toilet!
"Of course! Wait! That's not the point!" Roland almost got caught up in Adolf Heinrich's rhetoric.

“I thought it was one of those bone dragons pieced together from skeletons!” Adolf Heinrich said knowingly. It’s no wonder, since the undead transformed from dragon corpses are extremely rare. Even wild dragons return to the dragon tomb before they die, and the rest are dismembered and used for materials. How could it possibly become an undead?

"They went to Lulong Fortress?" Roland asked again to confirm.

"I don't know, Your Majesty. After all, they went in that direction. They couldn't possibly be going to Swiftstream City, could they?" Mogus shrugged. Logically, they should be going to Lulong Fortress, where dragons can be hunted. Who in their right mind would go to Swiftstream City to get beaten up?

……

"General! Magic detection detected something! A powerful creature is approaching us!" a soldier suddenly shouted as he ran toward Renault.

"Calm down! What kind of behavior is this, all flustered?" Renault reached out and pressed his shoulder, speaking in a deep voice.

"Take me to see it!" Renault said, and strode towards the magic hub inside the fortress.

"What's going on? What's the situation here?" Renault asked, looking at the mage who was monitoring the magic circle.

"The reconnaissance indicates a massive energy source is approaching! This energy fluctuation doesn't belong to any of our recorded records!" the mage said, his face grim.

"Hmm?" Renault looked up and glanced at it. Sure enough, a point on the detection magic circle was emitting intense fluctuations!

"Sound the alarm! Tell our soldiers! Prepare for war!" Renault's face was somewhat grim. After all, the enemy had bypassed the scouts' line of sight and was about to besiege the city. This was simply his dereliction of duty.

"Ding ding ding!" The crisp sound of the alarm bell echoed in the Lulong Fortress. The soldiers were at a loss for a second before they immediately reacted and rushed to their battle positions. The soldiers with free time also immediately sprinted to the armory to begin arming themselves.

"What's going on, General Renault!" The brothers Merck and Luke Leopold, who had arrived together, were both completely bewildered. Why had the alarm been sounded out of nowhere? "An enemy is approaching from the south, but the scouts have given no warning! We need to be prepared!" Renault said cautiously. Although there were intense energy fluctuations in the south, Renault couldn't assess the situation because the scouts hadn't sent any intelligence. He could only adapt to the situation and take defensive measures first.

"Huh? What's that thing flying over there?" Merck Leopold pointed to the sky.

"Click!" Out of sight of the others, the dragon-hunting crossbow on the Meteor Dragon Tower slowly turned and aimed at the south!

"Buzz!" A beige, semi-transparent shield rose up, encasing the entire Lulong Fortress within it.

"Open your mouth! Let us in!" The figures in the distance drew closer, and it was Caslow and his two companions. They were carrying Charlie Pross in Maple Forest Orchid, panting as they spoke.

"Crack!" The hexagonal shield shattered, revealing a passable gap. Several people immediately put away their dragons and crawled inside. After all, the magic shield was only for protection against the outside. People inside could freely enter the outside, but people outside could not enter the inside, unless a hole was opened in the shield through the central control.

“Caslo? You guys…” Renault pointed at the three people, then hesitated.

"By the way! What's with that energy fluctuation later? You guys didn't cause it, did you?" Renault asked without exchanging pleasantries.

"You're so smart! That thing is a bone dragon of the Dragon King level! Oh! Right! It was originally a corpse dragon, but we turned it into a bone dragon!" Caslo said proudly.

"No..." Renault had a few black lines hanging down his head. What, did you guys make him proud? Did you beat a dragon to the point of evolution?

“Renault! It really is the Dragon King! Get ready to defend!” Maple Forest Orchid didn’t joke around like Caslo, but patted him on the shoulder and said solemnly.

"Are you guys serious, buddies?" Renault chuckled, then, seeing that none of the three spoke, gave an awkward laugh. When he realized they were still unmoved, he finally stopped laughing.

"The True Dragon King?" Renault's eyelids twitched and his head tilted in disbelief.

"The True Dragon King!" The three nodded in unison.

"All troops on alert! Shield energy output at maximum! Prepare for battle! Target! Dragon King-level Bone Dragon!" Renault roared after taking a deep breath.

Under Renault's command, the previously calm situation suddenly boiled over, and the entire city seemed to come alive. The long alarm bells turned into battle horns, and Lulong Fortress once again bared its fangs!

……

"Thank you! For bringing me such a big guy!" Renault roared, leaning against the battlements, but his voice was still drowned out by the loud dragon roar in the sky.

"What's the Dragon Hunter Crossbow doing? Is the Dragon Tower broken?" Charlie Pros asked, puzzled. After all, they hadn't achieved anything after fighting for so long, which made Charlie Pros anxious.

"He's too fast! We can't hit him!" A guard staggered over.

"Won't this cause the Meteor Dragon Tower to collapse?" Caslo's face turned pale. The Asata's frantic ramming of the shield had cast a shadow over everyone's hearts.
