The Lord of the Rings: Lords of Middle-earth.

Chapter 468 The Eve of the Wedding

"Rather than doing anything, I'd rather give my lover an unforgettable wedding tomorrow!" Roland gave Gandalf a disgruntled look.

“Oh? Then I must congratulate you on your happiness, King Roland!” Gandalf said with a look of surprise.

"Thank you, I would have been happier if you hadn't come!" Roland retorted.

"Haha, then please forgive me for coming without telling you! I'll let you know in advance next time!" Gandalf saw Roland's displeasure and immediately smiled.

"Stop it! Don't come to me again if something like this happens!" Roland couldn't help but grimace. Good heavens, Gandalf came all the way to Dolgoth! Who in the family could handle that? Anyway, Roland was determined not to enter that dark place before the War of the Ring.

“Uh…” Gandalf was stunned, never expecting Roland to be so resistant.

Roland glanced at Gandalf; he couldn't very well tell him that Dolgodor was ultimately defeated by the Goldshire elves who had freed up their forces. After all, the War of the Ring had led all the Ringwraiths to join the battle in Gondor, leaving Dolgodor's defenses exceptionally weak. Otherwise, attacking a fortress guarded by the Ringwraiths would have been incredibly difficult.

“I don’t want to consider heading south right now; it’s too chaotic there! Our reach is completely out of our reach! If you really have a need, please go to the Golden Forest and ask Queen Galadriel,” Roland said to Gandalf, shaking his head.

"Hmm..." Gandalf let out a long sigh and said thoughtfully.

“After all, the Queen is also a member of the White Way Society. You should rely on her power, not seek out these penniless bastards in the North!” Roland said solemnly.

“I…” Gandalf opened his mouth.

“I know you didn’t have pure motives for sending Thorin on his expedition to Lonely Mountain! Although Thorin couldn’t refuse!” Roland shrugged.

“…” Gandalf silently tapped his pipe.

"I'm not Thorin, don't try to fool me with the same trick you used to fool Thorin!" Roland glanced at Gandalf. After all, Roland knew the plot well and he didn't want history to change again. He had already protected the bloodline of Turin on the Lonely Mountain battlefield, and with the emergence of several kingdoms that didn't exist in history, no one knew what history would become. If Gandalf succeeded and really ran to Dolgodor, who knew what the whole history would be like.

“King Roland, I hope you understand that the invasion of darkness is not just your problem…” Gandalf spoke in a chant-like voice.

“But all I want to do right now is live my own life! I’m sorry, Gandalf!” Roland decisively interrupted Gandalf.

“King Roland, I’ve always thought of you as a rational man. Everything we’re doing now is to save this land…” Gandalf tried to reason with Roland. “I’m rational, but I’m not stupid! I knew there was a bunch of menacing Ringwraiths there, and I still led my men there? Do you think I’m a brainless dwarf king? Don’t try to reason with me!” Roland retorted angrily.

“Tell me! Where were the kingdoms of the south when I was fighting a bloody battle with the humans, dwarves, elves and orcs in the North? What were the soldiers of Gondor and Rohan doing when my men were risking their lives against the Ringwraiths? Where was their king? While I was fighting to the death in the North, the nobles of the South were enjoying themselves? Gandalf, what right do you have to question me?” Roland questioned.

"No, no, no, King Roland, you misunderstand. I didn't mean to question you..." Gandalf quickly tried to dissuade Roland. He looked at the agitated Roland and was at a loss for what to do. No one expected Roland to react so strongly.

"Not questioning? Then what are you doing? I've fought more orcs than Gondor and Rohan combined! I've done more to resist the darkness than all of them combined! My army fought orcs just yesterday! You're telling me, what about Gondor? The most powerful kingdom of men? Bah!" Roland spat disdainfully. Without Aragorn, Gondor was worthless. The current Regent, Tergon, was passable, but what about when his son came to power… Ha! The first kingdom of men—Gondor? Less than a dog!

"Why don't you go and see that kingdom guarding the Black Gate? Go and ask them where their army, ready for battle, is? The North has done enough for the Southern Kingdom! There won't be a second Northern army marching south! No more!" Roland roared. After the Northern humans supported the South, they established the Kingdom of Rohan, but in doing so, they also took away most of the Northern's manpower. The remaining Northern humans are pitiful.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t ask you to conquer Dolgodo, nor did I ask you to go south. I just want to explore the Dolgodo fortress. I must see it for myself!” Gandalf said in a gentle but firm tone.

"That's your business, none of my concern! Thanks, turn left as you exit, and don't bother coming back!" Roland plopped back down lazily, admitting it was a bit of a mood killer. The wedding was tomorrow, and Gandalf had come running over like a harbinger of doom to Dolgodo...

Should we check that place? The dark aura rising into the sky can be seen from dozens of miles away, covering half the sky. Anyone with a brain knows there's something wrong there.

"Alas...King Roland, I hope you can be more rational and not act impulsively. I'll be leaving now. Also, I wish you a happy marriage!" Gandalf gave Roland a deep look, and finally could only sigh and shake his head helplessly before leaving.

……

"What do you think?" Roland asked, reclining in his chair and looking at Yunfeng, who was deep in thought.

"How can I see? With my eyes?" Yun Feng scoffed.

“You are the king of the country, and no one will go against your will. Your will is our answer! So don’t feel guilty. You are the king of Lagrange, not the king of Gondor or Rohan! What do their lives have to do with you?” Yunfeng smiled and tapped the table. He felt that Roland was getting a little stuck in his own head. He was just a king, not a saint. There was no need for him to consider the safety of the entire Middle-earth. What did the life and death of the other kingdoms in Middle-earth have to do with Lagrange?
"..." Roland was momentarily stunned as he looked at Yun Feng, who spoke the coldest words in the gentlest tone.

“Alas, Thranduil is far more mature than you in this regard! Although he is not a good ally, he is certainly a good king!” Yunfeng shook his head as he looked at Roland, who was somewhat unable to accept it. After all, Thranduil had indeed protected the safety of his people, keeping the Woodland Kingdom almost free from the attacks of the Orcs. What was even more commendable was that he prevented his people from being consumed in the war. This was what Yunfeng admired. No one knew where the Kingdom of Lagrang would go in the future, but Yunfeng could keenly sense that the road to the revival of Lagrang would certainly not be smooth.

“Alright, I’ll keep an eye on Gandalf. You should be thinking about tomorrow’s wedding more. Compared to the Ringwraiths in Dolgoth, your wedding is a bigger headache!” Yunfeng sighed, rubbing his temples.
