Chapter 454 Golden Dragon Dance!
"Your Highness!" These were the last words Roland heard before he regained consciousness, and then everything went black and he fainted.
"Die!" Omsk roared like a madman, raising his battle aura. A huge pillar of battle aura flames pushed out from him. All the chariots that were caught in the range of his battle aura flames fell to the ground with cries of pain. They were either ignited by the light battle aura or corroded by the dark battle aura. At this moment, Omsk was showing the domain of a sixth-order hero!
"Your Highness!" Omske hugged Roland tightly and quickly checked Roland's injuries.
"What's going on!" Caslo jumped over too.
"Go! This place is no place to stay!" Omsk roared instead of answering. Only the Knights could give him a sense of security now.
"Damn it!" Caslo spotted the thick crossbow bolt stuck in Roland's chest at a glance. He knew without a doubt that it was no ordinary crossbow bolt, as it was engraved with rough magic runes, clearly indicating that it was a magical weapon.
"It's a magic armor-piercing arrow!" Omske was at a loss. He dared not move Roland because he could not see the arrowhead embedded in the dragon armor. It was obvious that the Grand Duke's dragon armor had not served its intended purpose.
"How could Your Highness be attacked!" Caslo exclaimed as he swung his battle aura blade to kill the approaching enemies.
"Ask those Swan Knights!" Omsk patted Roland's neck and said irritably. It would be funny if saving someone really led to the king's death.
"No, we have to go back immediately! His Highness's breath is very weak! We need priests! Paladins! Even wood, holy, or water mages will do!" Omske said anxiously.
"Damn it! I'm a fire elemental!" Verway heard Omsk's words as soon as he arrived, and then he was stunned when he saw what was in Omsk's arms.
"What happened?" Verviers were dumbfounded. The perfectly healthy man from just a few minutes ago was now lying in Omske's arms, barely breathing.
"Magic Armor-Piercing Arrow! His Highness has been attacked!" Caslo exclaimed angrily.
"Is his armor made of paper?" Verway's eyes twitched, and he couldn't help but ask.
"Even dragons cannot be immune to the armor-piercing arrow's attack on the reverse scale, let alone this is a dragon armor!" Caslo gritted his teeth.
"Oh no! It's bleeding! Omske, slow down! Roland is about to be shaken to death!" Even the sharp-eyed Verway was in a panic, and seeing the few streaks of blood flowing from the exposed half of the arrow blade, he quickly shouted to stop.
"Dragon God above! Someone save him!" Caslo paced anxiously.
"How about we pull it out first?" Omske said through gritted teeth, his expression flickering.
"Stop! Are you crazy! Have you thought about what will happen if the bleeding doesn't stop!" Caslo quickly stopped this insane idea.
"I'm sorry..." Holfa leaned closer and said apologetically.
"Go to hell!" Omsk punched Holfa so hard he was sent flying.
"You!" A group of swan riders interrupted, clearly dissatisfied with Omske's brutal beating of their commander.
"It's alright!" Holfa raised his hand to stop his men from speaking. He knew that if the Lagranges weren't allowed to vent their anger, things would probably get even more complicated later.
"Your Majesty! We've arrived! Where are the enemies? Hmm? Where is Your Highness?" The leading Lagrange vanguard knights led their men to meet them.
"Are there any people with the Saint attribute?" Omske ignored him and instead raised his voice.
"I'm sorry, Your Majesty, paladins are very rare. Besides General Renault, only Your Highness is... Your Highness!" The eyes of the Lagrange Vanguard Knight nearly popped out of their sockets. Look at that person lying asleep in Omske's arms! Ah! It's the great King Roland!
"Damn it! Form ranks and meet the enemy!" The knights were instantly enraged. Before Omsk could give the order, the knights had already formed a charge formation. Roland's uncertain fate had made the Lagrange knights lose face. A knightly order that couldn't even keep the king in check... Anger had ignited the last vestiges of reason in everyone.
At this moment, Holfa and his group huddled to the side like quails, not daring to breathe. Didn't they see that the "Northern Barbarians" with bloodshot eyes had gone mad? Their king had been ambushed, and everyone instantly became excited as if their G-spot had been hit. Holfa had no doubt that even if Morgoth stood in front of them, they would dare to draw their swords and charge.
"Damn it! Think of something! Save him first!" Caslo cursed as soon as he saw everyone's reaction. Revenge could come anytime, but Roland's death was truly the end of it!
"Who is this? What are you doing? Ouch! Holy crap!" Caslo was surprised to find someone moving the crossbow bolt in Roland's chest amidst the chaos.
"How dare you!!!" Omske roared, his eyes blazing with fury, and pulled it out! Pulled it out! Which bastard pulled it out?
"Roar!" A deafening dragon's roar echoed through the sky.
"Can you calm down?" Storm Dragon Kaldor flung the armor-piercing arrow from his mouth and stared at everyone with an icy expression.
"Damn it! You bastard reptile! You murdered my king! Brothers, charge!" The Lagrange vanguard knights instantly erupted in chaos. What the hell?! The dragon had betrayed them and killed the king! Wouldn't they tear him apart? Even a god would bite him today, let alone a dragon!
"He's not dead!" Kaldor looked at the knight's ridiculous behavior as if he were a clown.
"You underestimate the defensive power of dragon armor!" Kaldor scoffed. These ignorant bumpkins! How could a mere ordinary armor-piercing arrow penetrate the dragon armor of a Grand Duke? Not even a dwarven black arrow could pass through it!
"Take off his dragon armor, or he'll suffocate!" Kaldo gracefully shrank and coiled himself on Caslo's shoulder.
The crowd, still somewhat skeptical, hastily removed Roland's dragon armor. They discovered that the arrow had indeed only pierced the armor slightly, barely breaking through the inner armor to reveal its tip. Roland was indeed injured, though the "severe" wound on his chest would scab over soon enough. Doss, who was lying on Roland's chest, had been grazed by the arrow, leaving a noticeable white scratch on Roland's fine dragon scales. Still somewhat dazed, Doss was angrily searching for the attacker.
"They were just stunned by the impact..." Kaldo looked at these bumpkins and really couldn't believe that these were really elite soldiers of the Lagrange Empire.
"Roar!" Suddenly, a clear and stirring dragon's roar resounded throughout the Iron Hills, shaking off a large amount of snow from the treetops.
A young dragon coiled on Roland's chest opened its eyes. Its originally sky-blue pupils had turned scarlet. A huge silver-white phantom and a slightly slender golden phantom appeared on the young dragon's head. Then, to everyone's horror, the two imposing phantoms disappeared into the young dragon's body...
“Dragon God…by your side!” Omske and Kaslo murmured.
"Dragon God..." Verway exclaimed, his mouth agape.
The slender young dragon had disappeared, and a burly body nearly thirty meters long appeared before everyone's eyes. Its muscular body, long tail, thick and powerful neck, broad wings, ferocious head and horns all radiated a golden light.
"The Golden Dragon...!" Verway was tempted to run away.
“Adult body…” Omske added blankly.
“You bumpkin, it’s a golden holy dragon… This thing is covered in divine light…” Caslo muttered.
The adult Golden Saint Dragondos affectionately nuzzled Roland, who was still unconscious beneath it. It seemed to notice that its unreliable human had fallen asleep immediately. It tilted its head and remained silent for a few seconds, as if it were checking its skill set.
"Roar!" Golden and white holy power surged through every inch of Roland's body, completely eliminating his original injuries. Only then did Doss nod in satisfaction.
"Roar!" Dos flapped his wings and soared into the sky amidst a sonic boom, disappearing without a trace.
"They...they ran away?" Everyone looked on in astonishment.
"It's over, this mountain range is going to be in big trouble!" Only Kaldo looked at the sky and said quietly.
