Chapter 437 The Divine Weapon: The Blade of Tetanus!
Chapter 437 Divine Weapon - The Blade of Tetanus!
"Move away the obstacles! Prepare for battle!" Thorin was overjoyed. After returning from the attack, Thorin was delighted by the weakness of the orc army. The dwarf army could finally have a happy fight with the orcs.
"Wait! Thorin!" Dvalin grabbed Thorin and pulled him to a corner.
"What are you doing, Devalin! We must fight back! Our reinforcements have drawn away the Orc army of Dolgodo! We can't waste this opportunity! I can't risk the lives of ordinary soldiers! There can't be a second Battle of Azanubiza here!" Thorin's spittle flew everywhere.
"We're running out of arrows..." Dvalin whispered to Thorin after looking around. He couldn't say this in front of everyone; it would be very demoralizing.
"How is that possible? We have Qazadoom behind us!" Thorin's pupils contracted sharply. He was being told he was out of arrows while backed by the old dwarven capital? Wasn't this like begging for food while sitting on a mountain of gold?
"Look!" Dvalin handed something to Thorin.
Thorin looked closely and saw that it was a dwarven-made iron arrow, but due to lack of maintenance, it was rusty and peeling, clearly unqualified as an arrow.
"This..." Thorin's expression turned ugly.
"To be honest, it's lucky these arrows survived! Orcs don't know how to maintain weapons." Dvalin shrugged helplessly.
"Damn it, order the soldiers to take these! Even if they're rusty, the dwarves' crossbows can still pierce an orc's torso!" Thorin hesitated for two seconds before ordering the counterattack to continue. Although these arrows weren't particularly sharp, combined with the dwarves' powerful crossbows, they could easily kill ordinary orcs.
Thorin himself probably didn't realize how devastating these arrows would be to the orcs; in the months following the battle, almost all the orcs struck by these arrows died.
If Roland were here, he would surely marvel at Thorin's good fortune. After all, it takes more than just anyone to be able to wield these insidious weapons correctly. By sheer chance, Thorin led the dwarves ahead of schedule to unlock the artifact—the Tetanus Blade!
These rusty iron and copper arrows are covered with a layer of rust or copper rust, and this rust has become the most powerful killer!
When the dwarves unleashed a hail of arrows, the orcs were filled with panic. But after the first wave of arrows fell, the orcs realized that few had actually died at the hands of the dwarves; most had only been struck in the flesh by the arrows. These wounds were like a mere scratch to the thick-skinned orcs. Enraged, the orcs howled and snapped their arrows in two, then charged at the dwarves…
In the end, the battered orc army had no choice but to retreat. They discovered that while the quality of the dwarven arrows was "pathetic," their quantity was equally pathetic! The orcs were easily suppressed by the dwarven crossbowmen, and the orcs who charged forward could only retreat helplessly in the face of the dwarves' rain of arrows.
……
These orcs are doomed! This was Roland's first thought upon receiving the battle report. He knew without even reading it that these orcs would die from infected wounds and tetanus… After all, there was really no way to counter the tetanus attack, and the orcs' rudimentary skill tree barely included any apothecaries or similar abilities. This meant the orcs were completely unable to treat those with infected wounds.
"The dwarves are ruthless?" Roland slammed the battle report on the table. After all, the dwarven dragonhawk riders had always maintained contact with Lagrange, so it was normal for Roland to receive the dwarven battle report. Although Roland hadn't sent out any troops, his two dragonhawk generals were on standby. Their role was to intercept any potential Ringwraiths, but the Ringwraiths seemed rather cowardly and hadn't shown themselves yet.
"Rusty arrows? Who came up with such a wicked idea?" Caslo clearly knew how insidious this thing was. "Thorin got lucky. Moria's arrows were running out, so they had to use the arrows left over from before, and those arrows just happened to be rusty..." Roland shook his head.
"Tsk! That's ruthless! Those orcs are doomed. With the orcs' level of medical care... I'm afraid there will be a plague in the Misty Mountains!" Caslo said, both amused and exasperated. As for why there would be a plague? Of course, it was because too many orcs had died.
"It would be better if they all died! If those bastards don't die, where will I reclaim the empire's territory?" Roland said casually. Those wandering orcs were the most disgusting. They were always roaming the wasteland, and they were the source of instability in the entire Lagrange Plains region!
“However, the key is how to handle the relationship between the two sides!” Yun Feng suddenly said.
"..." Roland fell into deep thought.
“If the king of the mountain returns with a great victory, the order in the North may change as a result!” Yun Feng ignored Roland and continued talking to himself.
"The dwarves are going to attack us?" Caslo was taken aback, then asked incredulously.
"Idiot!" Yun Feng covered her face.
"What I mean is that the dwarves might take advantage of their military might to destroy the orc fortress! Not that the dwarves are going to attack us! What do we have that would make the dwarves want to attack us?" Yunfeng was speechless. After all, there were still countless powerful enemies surrounding the North. Thorin wouldn't attack his allies unless he had a screw loose, otherwise the Ringwraiths would be laughing their heads off!
What Yunfeng was worried about was exactly what Roland was worried about. The last expedition to Dolgodo failed, but if the Dwarf King was determined to start a war this time, the entire North would have to play along with him. After all, everyone's fate was intertwined! Roland could almost see the man-eating face of the Elven King Iovia of Singrey.
"If Thorin really wants to fight, he'll probably go to Dolgodo! That's where he'll get the support and aid of the elves! At the very least, the Singree elves will definitely fight to the death," Roland analyzed.
"Now is not a good time to start a war. The kingdom has just recovered and I don't want anyone to drag my country into the quagmire of war again!" Roland said coldly.
"So we have to keep the dwarves in the Lonely Mountain. Dolgodo is definitely heavily guarded now, and we no longer have a good opportunity to launch a sneak attack. All we can do now is crush them with our army!" Yun Feng said calmly.
“What we lack most is large troops… Of course, if you include Swift Infantry, we still have some!” Caslo scratched his head.
"Stop ruining those good young men! I never intended to raise cannon fodder!" Roland glared fiercely at Caslo.
Realizing his slip of the tongue, Caslo quickly feigned death. He knew that the Swift Infantry unit at the foot of Lonely Mountain was Roland's lifelong pain. Therefore, for non-high-risk positions, Roland assigned ordinary soldiers to do them, while the rest were handled by the professional army.
"If a real battle breaks out, they'll just be cannon fodder! At the very least, they'll have to provide support for us outside of Dolgodo!" Yun Feng shook his head and sighed. After all, the initial purpose of the Swift Infantry was to wear them down!
