Chapter 436 Chaos
While Roland was busy fretting over his kingdom's food supply, the dwarves and orcs in the Misty Mountains stumbled upon each other by sheer luck, and thus, the dwarven reinforcements from the Blue Mountains and the orcs of Gombard Fortress engaged in a fierce battle on the western slopes of the Misty Mountains...

Ironically, the orcs were somewhat clever this time, though not in particularly large numbers... About three thousand orc soldiers from the Gombada Fortress were lying in ambush at the west gate of Moria, only to run into the Blue Mountains dwarven reinforcements. Normally, three thousand orc soldiers would have been no big deal for the dwarves, but the Blue Mountains dwarven reinforcements had brought their families with them...

The result was a brutal, one-sided battle. The orcs wanted to swallow the dwarven reinforcements whole, but lacked the strength. The other orc high command dared not stay in luxurious tents anymore…

However, it did relieve Moria of some of its predicament. After the Orcs of Dolgodo chased Dain, the situation in Moria changed instantly. The Orcs could no longer trap the dwarves in Moria. Having lost the advantage of having a large army behind them, the Orcs of the Misty Mountains no longer sent troops to attack Moria. They only focused on surrounding the east gate, trying to blockade Moria... But could they really block it?

Less than a "kunshi" (two and a half hours) after the Orcs of Dolgodo left, Thorin led a group of men out and, after beheading nearly five hundred Orcs, elegantly strode away, leaving behind a group of heartbroken and helpless Orcs to collect the corpses. Clearly, the Orcs had not expected the Dwarves to actually come out... However, the Dwarven sentries lying in ambush at the exit of the secret passage had already informed Thorin of the changes in the Orc army.
