Chapter 433 The Orc Accidentally Injured
Chapter 433 The Orc Accidentally Injured
"Good heavens! Beard, Your Highness, you're amazing!" A dwarven scout who had bravely crawled out to scout returned and gave Thorin a thumbs up.
"How's the situation?" Thorin asked casually.
"You shot that thing in the eye! Its right eye must be blind! Now that guy is retaliating!" The dwarf scout gasped for breath.
"The fighting outside is even more terrifying than the Black Gate battlefield. A lot of rocks have been smashed down on the mountain. That guy is like a madman, smashing anything he can get his hands on!" the scout continued.
Thorin and his group exchanged glances. They weren't stupid; any living person could feel the earth-shattering impact and tremors just now. It was obvious that the place they had just been standing in must have been smashed to the surface of the moon. The berserk Behemoth was no joke.
"Ah~"
"Aww~ Ah!"
Suddenly everyone fell silent, their ears perked up, and they exchanged glances, all seeing the surprise in each other's eyes. The screams of the orcs could be heard all the way here; could it be that the dwarven reinforcements had arrived?
……
At this moment, the wounded Bronze Behemoth had pulled out the dwarven crossbow bolt from its left eye. The heavy arrow, like a spear, embedded itself directly in its eye socket. With a shrill roar, an eyeball, bloodshot and with nerves, was ripped out.
"Whoosh!" The enraged Behemoth opened its giant claws, and battle aura instantly covered the claws, with a giant claw several meters long condensed from the claw tip extending out.
"Whoosh!" The sharp battle aura claws swung wildly.
"Hiss!" Thorin and the others gasped as they lay on the hilltop. That thing looked incredibly painful... Thorin couldn't help but feel sorry for the orc whose limbs were torn apart and flying around haphazardly.
Although it wasn't exactly reinforcements to hold them off, this thing was even more effective than reinforcements... Especially after everyone saw the beast tamer sent by the orcs to appease the Behemoth get sliced into "fish sashimi" by the enraged bronze Behemoth, their mood was incredibly pleasant. They no longer felt any fear of the Behemoth attack, only the pleasure of watching the famous dog-eat-dog scene.
"What a pity, it's just a bronze Behemoth. If it were a gold Behemoth, the orc could go back to its homeland!" You have to admit, otherwise Thorin wouldn't be the Dwarf King! Even his daydreaming is extraordinary!
The others glanced at him but didn't say anything. A Golden Behemoth, huh? The Golden Behemoth, battle-hardened and protected by countless battles, couldn't possibly be easily ambushed by a mere heavy crossbowman. Those creatures were on par with dragons; Behemoth knights were practically equal in status to dragon knights, the only difference being that they were mere ground-dwellers. Besides, in the Lord of the Rings games, Behemoth knights had already developed into heavily armored Behemoths. These Behemoths, wielding ten-meter-long javelins, under the knight's command, could easily shoot a dragon knight down from hundreds of meters in the air with a single spear. Of course, this was only the Third Age; the future elite class of orcs, the Behemoth knight, might not even have appeared yet.
"The orcs shouldn't bother us for a while. This Behemoth will give them a headache for a long time!" Dvalin said casually, looking at the rampaging bronze Behemoth. As long as the dwarves didn't destroy the Moria caverns, the flowers and grass outside were free for the Behemoth to vent its anger on. As for the orcs on the flowers and grass? It didn't matter. The dwarves hadn't invited them to Moria anyway. What business was it of the dwarves of them coming to their deaths?
“Yes, we can take this opportunity to organize a team to clean up Qazadoom. His Highness Balin has always been short-handed, and there are still many places in Qazadoom that haven’t been cleaned up!” Olli said to Thorin.
"Hmm!" Thorin nodded. After all, it's better to beat a child on a rainy day than to do nothing else. Anyway, the dwarves aren't going to open the pile of rubble at the entrance to Moria right now. It wouldn't be bad for the thousands of idle people to give Moria a thorough cleaning. After all, it's the ancient capital of the dwarves and the ancestral land of the Turin tribe. Even if Thorin doesn't plan to stay, helping Balin is a good idea.
……
"Your Highness Dain!" Ad, the commander of the Dragonhawk Knight squad, appeared before the weary Ironfoot Dain. "Why did Knight Ad block my way?" Dain asked, puzzled. Logically, the Moria garrison was anxiously awaiting reinforcements, and Thorin had already clashed with the orcs. He should have led his troops to provide rapid support, but instead, he was blocked by the Dragonhawk Knights halfway there.
Dain hadn't considered the possibility of the Dragonhawk Knights betraying them; he was simply puzzled. If the Dragonhawk Knights all turned to darkness, the Turin race might as well give up and jump into the abyss.
“The situation has changed! Prince Thorin has led his troops to retreat to Moria, and the orcs are using heavy machinery to indiscriminately attack the battlefield…” Ad said.
"Hmm... The orc commander is really ruthless!" Dain was taken aback for a moment before slowly saying that it was indeed not worth trading his life with the orcs in this situation, and Dain could understand Thorin's retreat to Moria because he had no other choice.
"It seems Moria hasn't fallen, and Balin and the others held it..." Dain thought to himself and instantly relaxed.
“But the situation is not optimistic. We are still waiting for more specific information. However, the orcs have brought in a bronze behemoth to help them, and they are attacking Moria now!” Yad shook his head.
"What?! You damned bastards! Children, advance!" Dain panicked at the mention of it. What the hell? They've even used Behemoths, so isn't Moria finished? What are we waiting for? Are we waiting to collect Thorin's corpse?
"Your Highness, they have blocked the east gate of Moria with stones, and they can still hold out for now. Your troops..." Yad hesitated, then stopped.
"..." Dain calmed down instantly. After all, even if Thorin and the others were at their worst, they could still defend their positions. It was okay for his thousand or so men to fight the orcs on flat ground, but to fight the Behemoths would be brain-dead.
"Everyone rest! Await orders!" Dain waved his hand, ordering the troops to take a break and eat, as they might have to set off at any time.
He and Yad arrived at the Dragonhawk Knights' temporary stronghold, which was more like a few shacks than a proper stronghold. However, Dain wasn't one to nitpick, so he simply sat down by the campfire and quietly roasted the rations he had brought.
"Would Your Highness like some water?" Yad handed a jar of hot water to Dain.
Dyne did not refuse his kindness. After taking the jar, he tore up the jerky he had brought and threw it into the jar, then placed it by the fire to roast.
"Tell me the details, I want to know what happened!" Dain had a headache. He was completely clueless, except for a few limited pieces of information. He didn't know anything else, he was just there to support his cousin out of sheer enthusiasm.
“Okay!” Yad didn’t stand on ceremony and quickly explained the current situation and events to Dain.
……
"Tsk tsk tsk! You guys were actually suppressed by the orcs' heavy crossbows?" Dain clicked his tongue in amazement. Good heavens, the dwarves almost lost air superiority because of the air force.
“Dragonhawks aren’t dragons…” Yad said with a dark face. If he were riding a dragon from the Kingdom of Lagrang instead of a dragonhawk, he would have dared to run his hand over the orc’s face. The problem is, the dragonhawk’s defense… emmm, opinions may vary.
