Chapter 151 Missing
Chapter 151 Missing
"Retreat!" Peter Groh watched the soldiers retreating from the main hall. Upon hearing the news of the attack on Iovia, he immediately rushed against the current towards the Royal Palace. When he saw that it was Khammur who had emerged, he had a bad feeling. Then his gaze fell on the blood-stained longsword in Khammur's hand! A sense of sorrow welled up from the bottom of his heart. He roared shrilly as he organized the Star Elves' retreat. He gripped the Dragon Flute tightly in his hand, pointed his sword at Khammur, and tears welled up in his eyes.
"Retreat! Get out of here!" Seeing the orcs, goblins, and trolls surging in from all directions, Peter Gro understood that the war was over and it was time to take everyone back. No matter what happened to Iovia, the Star Elves had to keep going. Peter Gro shamefully covered the rear. He didn't even dare to lead his troops to charge into the Royal Palace to see if Iovia was alive or dead. It wasn't that he was cowardly, but the black knight, engulfed in black flames and looking like he had returned from hell, made him completely give up the desire to fight back. He was just a fourth-tier ranger. Without the Star Dragon, he couldn't even last two rounds against Khammur.
"Get out of here! Go now!" Peter Groh cried out mournfully, leading the unicorn that Iovia had left at the entrance.
……
"Any news of the King?" Although Peter Gro had led the elves away from Dolgodo, he still sent out a large number of rangers to search for Iovia's whereabouts around Dolgodo. He knew that Iovia possessed the power of space, which made her very difficult to kill.
“There are no adults, but the orcs are not far from us! That black hero led the orcs out of Dolgodo!” the scout said.
“Damn it! We didn’t even consider that there would be Ringwraiths here! I should have thought of that!” Peter Groh teared at his magnificent long hair in self-reproach.
"My lord, please forgive my intrusion, but His Highness's fate is currently unknown. However, we must continue with our people; we need to bring the rest of them home!"
Peter Groh glanced around at the dejected elven soldiers and felt a pang of sorrow. Not long ago, they were a spirited army, but now they seemed to have lost their bones, hunched over, heads bowed, their eyes filled with gray.
“Let’s go! I’ll cover the rear!” Peter Groh raised his head and decisively began to play the dragon flute.
At that moment, Skye, who was dozing in Singri, heard the familiar melody and call and let out a long howl, then was teleported to Peter Gro's side through the special channel opened by the dragon flute.
"Boom!" The enormous dragon body crushed the surrounding trees.
"Dragon Knight?" Khamur's expressionless face finally showed a hint of seriousness. Khamur, who had been playing cat and mouse with the mouse, began to take the fourth-tier ranger in front of him seriously. His previous contempt gradually disappeared when the Star Dragon descended from the sky and he slung it over the dragon's back.
"Where is my king?" Peter Gross finally couldn't help but ask.
"King? That piece of trash who can't even withstand a single sword strike from me?" Khamur let out a harsh laugh.
"Damn it!" The massive longbow was drawn to its full extent in Peter Gro's hands as if it were nothing. His battle aura instantly merged with the dragon power of the dragon beneath him, and an ice-blue arrow shimmering with starlight condensed on the longbow. With a flick of Peter Gro's finger, a sonic boom rang out, and the arrow traversed space in concentric circles, arriving directly in front of Khammur.
"Boom!" A dazzling starlight erupted from the jet-black knight's shield, and amidst the violent roar, the shield stood motionless like a mountain before Khammur. "Is this all you've got? Hahaha! But you are indeed better than that useless Elf King; at least you have the ability to put up a fight, hahaha!" Khammur mocked wildly, attempting to disrupt Peter Gro's actions with words, while countless orcs surged forward behind him.
"Dragon-hunting crossbow!" Peter Gro's eyes narrowed. His excellent eyesight immediately spotted the heavy crossbow carried on the shoulder of an troll among the orcs. They had brought the dragon-hunting crossbow because they were chasing elves, but they never expected to actually encounter a dragon.
"Whoosh!" Seeing that the soldiers had successfully broken away from the orc pursuers, Peter Groh pulled on his dragon saddle and ran away without saying a word. Faced with a hexagonal black hero and the support of the dragon hunter crossbowman, anyone would know what to do.
"Damn it, these orcs are chasing us too closely!" Peter Groh roared in a fit of impotent rage. Khammur's presence prevented him from indiscriminately slaughtering those fragile orcs. The sheer power of a Ringwraith was something even Peter Groh, a dragon rider, couldn't ignore. Even though it was merely driving Nightmare, leisurely lingering behind the elves, Peter Groh was powerless against it. Forget about forbidden spells; Star Dragons didn't have single-target forbidden spells, and area-of-effect forbidden spells were utterly ineffective against Khammur. Moreover, casting a forbidden spell would leave Peter Groh and Skye weakened for a period of time. If they couldn't kill Khammur, it would be a catastrophe. Once Peter Groh was incapacitated, no Star Elf could stop his slaughter. Annihilation of their race was foreseeable!
"Retreat! Ignore those orcs!" Peter Gro had no choice but to give the order. Singri was exposed, so at least everyone had to get back alive. Besides, the Star Elves weren't fighting alone; their allies near Lonely Mountain could head south at any time.
"Quickly go to the Woodland Kingdom, the Lagrange Kingdom, the Akvia Kingdom, Irubor, and the River Valley Kingdom for help!" Peter Gro was fortunate enough to find several elven warriors still riding moon deer.
"By the stars above! Goddess, please help us! We must catch up! The life and death of the Star Spirits are in your hands!" Watching the Moon Deer leap and bound through the forest and quickly disappear from Peter Gro's sight, he silently prayed to the Star Goddess, gritted his teeth, and continued to the back of the group to confront Khammur in the distance.
……
"When will we get there?" Roland wiped his sweat and sighed as he looked at the uniform jungle around him.
"It will be soon, Your Highness!" Omske said after silently calculating in his mind.
"Then let's charge through in one go!" Roland was clearly losing patience. After riding at full speed through the dense forest for nearly two days, Roland simply couldn't stand the harsh environment of the jungle any longer. It was only spring, yet there were already countless flying insects bothering him...
"Your Highness, you mustn't!" Omske shouted, his heart already breaking out in a cold sweat.
"Your Highness, have you forgotten the story of Prince Éovia? He was attacked by Ringwraiths! We can only know from the elves' accounts that there is one Ringwraith, but only the Dragon God truly knows how many Ringwraiths are here! We need to carefully enter Singrei and wait for other reinforcements!" Omske hurriedly spoke up. If there really were other Ringwraiths, Roland couldn't withstand the attack of a sixth-tier professional. Once he was targeted, it would be certain death. This was the fundamental reason why Omske dared not gamble. If it were just him alone, sorry, I, Omske, would slaughter these orcs today. Now Omske already regretted bringing Roland along as a burden.
“Your Highness, King Iovia has already disappeared, and I don’t want you to disappear too!” Omske sighed.
"..." Roland.
