Chapter 82 Extra Chapter 2: The Red Spark
On December 26, 1995, an airplane took off from London Airport in the United Kingdom and landed at Beijing Capital International Airport after a flight of more than ten hours.
Because it is currently the Christmas holiday season in the West, there are not many passengers on this flight; most of them are international students who were unable to buy return tickets before Christmas.
One of them, a tall, thin Chinese boy of about fourteen or fifteen years old, wearing a red cotton-padded jacket with gold trim, was mixed in with the travelers returning home.
"Next!" an airport staff member sitting inside the glass window called out to the people behind him.
The Chinese teenager stepped forward, carrying a lone suitcase, and handed his passport to the other side of the bulletproof glass.
"Tierra Wu?" The security guard sitting inside the bulletproof glass window murmured the somewhat strange name. "An Englishman?"
“No, we will always be Chinese.” Tierra smiled faintly.
"Alright, you can go now." The security guard didn't ask any more questions. After checking the relevant documents and confirming that the photo on the passport was of her, the customs officer didn't give Tiera any trouble. He stamped her passport and let her go.
"Thank you," Tierra said, putting away her passport.
Tiera, who passed through customs smoothly, did not appear as a phantom. Instead, she walked to the airport like an ordinary person without magic and got into one of the taxis waiting in line.
"Master, shall we go?" Tiera asked in fluent Chinese.
"Where to?" the driver asked, seemingly a native of Beijing, speaking with a thick Beijing accent.
“Go to Tian…” Tiera paused, then changed her mind and said, “Go to Qianmen Street.”
"Alright." The driver stepped on the gas, and the taxi sped off on the empty airport expressway.
Tierra watched as the surrounding scenery gradually became more prosperous—
Tierra gradually recovered the vague memories of her childhood from her previous life—
The Bird's Nest, Water Cube, and Pangu Plaza, once famous both at home and abroad, are now just rice paddies.
Because it is winter, the rice paddies are still barren, revealing the frozen, hard earth.
As the car sped through a residential area, Tierra's eyes caught sight of a familiar, pale white apartment building.
Building 12!
That building! It was the building where he lived during his childhood—
Unfortunately, the taxi was going too fast, and the building was quickly left behind.
The taxi drove on for a while longer, passing a brightly lit restaurant—
That was the place where his family had their New Year's Eve dinner one year... If I remember correctly, it was 2001, the year he was 16 and had just started high school in his previous life. To celebrate his excellent grades, ranking 17th in his first semester of high school, his family decided to spend the Spring Festival away from home. After that, Tiera never encountered anything familiar again.
"That's 56 in total," the driver said, taking down the meter.
Tierra took out a hundred dollars from her pocket.
"keep the change."
After saying that, Tierra got out of the taxi with her suitcase, glanced at her watch—9:36
With plenty of time, Tierra made a point of taking the flight yesterday afternoon.
Therefore, Tierra did not rush to East Street, but instead lingered in the shops on both sides of Qianmen Street.
Just like his parents used to do with him when he was a child in his past life.
There was little entertainment at that time, and they didn't have much money. His parents either let Tierra roam freely in the rice paddies and ponds next to their neighborhood, chasing cats, dogs, insects, and frogs.
Or, on weekends, the whole family would dress up and go to Qianmen Street, strolling around and looking at things, walking from Qianmen Street to the Monument to the People's Heroes.
If Tierra does well at school this week, his parents will treat him to KFC for lunch.
Those were the happiest times of Tierra's childhood. The entire Qianmen Street, the university in front of his house, and the rice paddies formed all of Tierra's childhood impressions of Beijing.
At 11:15, Tierra, who had been walking and stopping along Qianmen Street, finally stopped at the entrance of the memorial hall.
After showing her passport and going through security, Tierra was allowed inside the memorial.
Because the morning tour was nearing its end, there weren't many people in the memorial hall. Tierra left her suitcase at the entrance security checkpoint and arrived at the viewing hall empty-handed.
Tierra did nothing else but leave the memorial before it closed at 11:30 a.m.
Tierra, carrying her suitcase, glanced back at the entrance of the memorial hall, then resolutely turned around, took a few steps forward, and vanished into thin air on the deserted street.
Meanwhile, in the Scottish Highlands, England.
Tyella appeared at the Observatory, the tallest building in Hogwarts. She gazed upon the magnificent castle, the surrounding mountains, rivers, and the vast Forbidden Forest.
And there are also the surging evil forces and corrupt bureaucratic power lurking beneath the surface of the magical world.
"Capitalists, bureaucracy, and rural terrorists—"
"Your proletarian grandfather is back!"
