Chapter 610 Dumbledore's Ambition
Chapter 610 Dumbledore's Ambition
"I'm sorry, Professor Dumbledore, I was too inconsiderate," Sirius Black said after a moment of silence. "Keeping Mundungus in the Order of the Phoenix is indeed a potential problem."
"Then, what about the European Ministry of Magic's actions? Those wars? And the Dark Arts courses taught in schools, did you also condone those?" Sirius Black followed up with another question.
"Acquiesced?" Tierra retorted. "No, Tierra, Nicolas Flamel, and our other old colleagues all pushed these things to happen."
"What exactly do you want?" Sirius asked incredulously. "Are you so afraid of Voldemort that you'd even risk our children being defiled by dark magic?"
“Oh no, Sirius, no…” Tyella said calmly, “Voldemort is nothing. In my eyes, he’s no different from a petty thug. He’s childish, immature, and too arrogant and insecure. A person like that can’t amount to anything.”
“I’m worried about the Muggles,” Tierra said calmly.
"Muggles?" Sirius exclaimed. "Muggles? Why are you afraid of Muggles? They are such kind and lovely little creatures, why should we be afraid of them?"
“Cute?” Tiera chuckled softly, but behind her crescent-shaped glasses, her eyes held a mocking and sarcastic glint. “Kind?”
“Oh, Sirius, you like Muggle stuff so much, why don’t you go read their history books?” Tiera leaned forward slightly, her eyes fixed on Sirius.
“Or…why not read our own history of magic?” Tiera chuckled again. “Oh, I almost forgot, the subject you studied worst in school was history of magic…no wonder…no wonder…no wonder you’ve forgotten even the little knowledge you had left after twelve years in Azkaban.”
“Muggles… are never a cute, kind species…” Tierra said with a laugh. “Or to put it another way, a small number of Muggles may be cute, kind, and honest, but most Muggles have an innate fear of the unknown.”
“This fear can be so intense and terrifying that it can transform a sweet, kind little lamb into a ferocious gray wolf,” Tiera said. “That’s how witch hunts originated, isn’t it?”
“But, but that was, that was the past… Muggles are cute these days,” Sirius continued to argue.
“That’s why I told you to read more Muggle history books,” Tierra said with a sneer, leaning back in her chair. “Especially those about wars and the triangular trade.”
“Those Muggles are all of the same race, even the same skin color. They could beat each other senseless,” Tiera said. “Not to mention the slave trade and genocide that occurred between different skin colors and races.”
"Even today, wars and genocides orchestrated and instigated by the Muggle-dominated American Onsa-Jewish group continue unabated," Tierra asserted aggressively. "Not to mention the devastating weapons they wield—"
"nuclear weapon."
“A metal bomb about the size of a ship,” Tierra described. “Oh, an atomic bomb.”
Tierra exclaimed, "The pinnacle of human technology, a miracle of human creativity, a single shell could unleash temperatures comparable to the sun, instantly turning a prosperous city into scorched earth, and rendering a radius of hundreds of kilometers around the blast point uninhabitable for over a hundred years."
"So you want to destroy Muggles like Voldemort?" Sirius suddenly became agitated. "Is that why you teach children dark magic?"
“No, no,” Tierra said, “the moment the first atomic bomb was detonated in 1945, we never had another chance. Muggles have entered a completely new era, an era of tremendous development, and what about us? Our wizarding society is still fragmented, still fighting amongst ourselves, still vying for a pitiful amount of power and money.” “How foolish!” Tierra exclaimed angrily, “How pathetic!”
“How pathetic,” Tiera sighed, sitting there dejectedly like a true old man.
“Our wizarding society is so pathetic,” Tierra said. “Once such a wizarding society comes into contact with Muggle society, once it is exposed to all Muggles, we will have absolutely no chance.”
“So I acquiesced to, and even supported, Tierra’s confiscation of Gringotts’ gold coins and further used these Galleons to disrupt the European economy. I acquiesced to Tierra’s signing of postwar pacts with the Ministries of Magic of those countries, allowing the effects of the war to expand and spread throughout the entire wizarding world.” Tierra nodded and said, “Because I want a united and powerful wizarding world, I want the entire wizarding world to come together as one.”
"At the same time, I support Professor Tierra teaching those children dark magic, because this magic will not only protect them in the future conflict between wizards and Muggles, but more importantly, this dark magic involves many magical principles, the essence and truth of magic. Learning and mastering these truths, and inspiring these young wizards to continue thinking, can bring new vitality to our magical academic community."
"The establishment of New Miscatornic University will cultivate generation after generation of outstanding talents for our wizarding world. Among these talents, there may be one, two, or even more genius wizards who far surpass Nicolas Flamel, far surpass me, and far surpass Gellert Grindelwald. Their emergence will set off one technological revolution after another in the wizarding world. Our magic, our spells, and our potions will be like the industrial revolution in the Muggle world, increasing our wizards' capital to fight against Muggles and injecting new vitality into our magical society."
“Professor Dumbledore.” Sirius looked at Dumbledore with a strange expression, as if he were looking at a stranger, a high-ranking politician, rather than Dumbledore.
“You’ve changed,” Sirius said dejectedly. “You’re not as kind as you used to be. The old Dumbledore wouldn’t have left those wizards suffering in Europe alone, wouldn’t have risked having the pure souls of those young wizards tainted by dark magic to resist that elusive danger that could appear at any moment.”
“Oh, Sirius, Sirius,” Tierra said with a smile, shaking his head, but in that instant, his outwardly aged appearance seemed to burst forth with immense vitality—
It's like the sun sinking and releasing its last rays of light.
“You don’t know me at all,” Tierra laughed, looking at Sirius through her crescent-shaped glasses. “You met me too late. By the time you met me, I was already old. By the time you met me, all my ambitions had burned to ashes. All I wanted was to maintain the current peace and stability in the wizarding world. But I wasn’t always like this.”
"Although you ran away from the Black family while you were in school, your parents must have introduced you, the eldest son of the Black family, to quite a few old wizards during the years you lived there, right? And quite a few ancient beings who have lived for over a century, right?"
"I should find some time to visit them and ask them questions."
"Ask them what kind of person I, Dumbledore, really am."
Ask me about my youthful and impetuous past.
"Ask about my story with Gellert Grindelwald."
"Then you will be able to meet the real Dumbledore."
"Then you'll understand why I support Tierra."
"When I was young, I looked so much like Tierra."
