Harry Potter and the Great Old Ones

Chapter 54 Keeping a Secret: Rupert Hagrid

Chapter 54 Keeping a Secret: Rupert Hagrid
"Be careful." After saying that, Tyella removed her hand from Hermione's arm.

"Thank you," Hermione said, blushing, completely unaware that a ring-shaped worm, similar in color to her clothes, was attached to her robe.

Hermione struggled through the crowd to the stands where Snape was. She was walking quickly along the row of seats behind him, panting heavily from the cold and the chaotic crowd. Her movements were somewhat rough.

As she passed Professor Quirrell, she bumped into him, causing him to fall headfirst into the front row of seats. The worm that had been clinging tightly to her robe suddenly detached and, taking advantage of the chaos, quietly entered Professor Quirrell's body and disappeared.

After much difficulty, Hermione finally managed to squeeze next to Snape. She crouched down, drew her wand, thought for a few seconds, and whispered a few carefully considered words. A bright blue flame shot out from the tip of her wand and rushed towards the hem of Snape's robe.

About thirty seconds later, Snape realized he was on fire. But it wasn't until his teacher behind him patted him on the shoulder and shouted in his ear that Snape came to his senses.

"Ah—" Snape was startled and stood up.

Hearing a scream, Hermione knew her job was done. She quickly tucked the fire away from him, put it in her pocket, and hurried back along the row of seats.

On the way back, I stumbled again.

"Neville, look!" Ron exclaimed excitedly, pointing to the sky.

Harry's broom stopped shaking, and he was able to climb back onto it.

For the past five minutes, Neville had been burying his face in Hagrid's jacket and crying.

Tierra had to pat Neville on the back while gently comforting him.

Although he had read it in his previous life, Tiera simply couldn't believe that there could be such a timid child, especially since it wasn't him flying in the sky.

If Tyrell hadn't read the original books, he couldn't have imagined that the little crybaby would actually bravely stand up against Voldemort during the Battle of Hogwarts in the seventh book.

It seems Neville's path to becoming the Gryffindor Sword Saint is still quite long.

After climbing back onto his broom, Harry quickly spotted the Golden Snitch and rushed toward it.

It has to be said that Harry's Quidditch talent is exceptional.

With a casual dash, the golden thief vanished.

Then people saw Harry plummeting toward the ground, and they saw him cover his mouth with his hand as if he were about to vomit.

Harry landed on all fours, coughing and gagging...

A golden object was spat out of his mouth and landed in his palm.

"I've caught the thief!" Harry shouted excitedly.

"I caught the golden ball and it flew away!" He swung the ball high over his head.

"He caught the Golden Snitch!" Hermione screamed excitedly as she returned to the Gryffindor stands, giving Tyella, who was standing next to her, a thrilling hug.

Ron then hugged Neville.

"He caught the Golden Snitch!" Li Qiaodan, the commentator, immediately announced.

The match ended in chaos.

No one except Tierra had expected Harry to catch the Golden Snitch in this way.

"He failed to catch the thief; he almost swallowed it whole!"

Twenty minutes later, Slytherin's Flint was still grumbling indignantly, but to no avail, because Harry had not broken any rules, and Lee Jordan was still joyfully shouting the result: Gryffindor won by 170 to 60.

However, Harry didn't hear any of this. After the match, he returned to Hagrid's hut with Tyella, Ron, and Hermione, where Hagrid made each of them a strong cup of tea.

They also took fresh rock crust pastries out of the oven.

“It was Snape!” Ron explained to Hagrid. “We all saw it. He was chanting a spell on your flying broom, muttering to himself, and staring intently at you.”

“Nonsense,” Hagrid retorted, completely unaware of what was happening around him in the stands. “Why would Snape do such a thing?”

The three young wizards exchanged glances, and Harry and Hermione gave Tyella a special look, as if they wanted to ask for his opinion.

But Tierra had no objections and ignored them, focusing instead on drinking the strong tea Hagrid had brewed while tapping on the rock cakes one by one.

Not knowing how to tell Hagrid, Harry and Hermione decided to tell the truth.

“We’ve found out something about him,” Harry told Hagrid. “On Halloween Eve, he tried to get past that three-headed dog, but it bit him. We think he was trying to steal what the dog was guarding!”

Hagrid put down the teapot with a serious expression and looked at the four young wizards in front of him with some unease.

“How do you know about the three-headed Lu Wei?” he asked.

"A three-headed Fluffy?" Hermione, Harry, and Ron asked in surprise.

“Yes…it’s mine. I bought it from a Greek guy I met at the hotel last year…I lent it to Dumbledore to keep watch…”

"What?" Harry asked eagerly.

"Alright, stop asking," Hagrid said gruffly. "That's top secret, understand?"

"But Snape wanted to steal it."

"Nonsense," said Hagrid again, "Snape is a teacher at Hogwarts, he would never do such a thing."

"Then why did he want to kill Harry?" Hermione asked loudly.

The events that afternoon seemed to have greatly changed her opinion of Snape.

“I can easily recognize a malevolent curse!” Hermione said, tilting her head back. “I’ve read everything about them in the books! You have to make eye contact with them. Snape’s eyes never blinked, I saw it!”

“Nonsense! I’m telling you, you’re wrong!” Hagrid snapped. “I don’t know why Harry’s broomstick behaved that way, but Snape absolutely, absolutely, absolutely would never have wanted to kill any student!” Hagrid repeated “Absolutely” three times. “Now, all four of you listen to me… You’re meddling in things that don’t concern you. That’s dangerous. Forget about that big dog, forget about what it’s guarding, and forget about Snape. This is between Professor Dumbledore and Nicolas Flamel…”

“Oh, Merlin’s beard!” Hagrid exclaimed suddenly.

“Aha!” Harry exclaimed excitedly, “So this involves a man named Nicolas Flamel, is that right?”

Hagrid glared at him, but he was angry with himself.

"Keep your mouth shut, Rubelhag," Tyella thought to herself.

Tierra, who was drinking tea, gently made a toasting gesture with her teacup.

Congratulations to Rupert Hagrid, the gamekeeper, for issuing the main quest – Find Nicolas Flamel (0/1)

Hello everyone, I'd like to take a more sentimental approach to the story of the Mirror of Erised. The following plot might be a bit weak, and the second update will be a little later.

Happy reading!
