Harry Potter and the Great Old Ones
Chapter 25 Professor McGonagall
Chapter 25 Professor McGonagall
The train gradually slowed down, and Harry and Ron stood up nervously, while Tyella remained seated on the train's sofa.
But her clenched hands suggest that Tiera is not as composed as she appears.
"The train will arrive at Hogwarts in five minutes. Please leave your luggage on the train and we will take you to school."
The sound echoed on the train, and Tyella knew it was the house-elves of Hogwarts.
Harry was so nervous that his stomach was churning, and he saw that Ron's face, beneath his freckles, had also turned pale.
They stuffed the remaining candy into their pockets and surged forward with the flow of people in the aisle.
The train gradually slowed down and eventually came to a stop.
The young wizards jostled and pushed their way to the train door, disembarking onto a small, dark platform. The night air chilled Harry.
Then a lamp flickered above the students' heads, and Harry heard a familiar voice calling out, "First-years! First-years, come this way!"
"Oh, Harry, Tyella, you've finally arrived! Come over here, come over here quickly! Are you alright?"
The towering Hagrid stood out like a crane among chickens among a group of young wizards, extremely conspicuous.
Hagrid smiled at Tyella and Harry with his bearded face.
Tierra tried to read something from Hagrid's large face.
But Hagrid's smile remained as bright as ever, revealing nothing.
He actually hoped Hagrid would look more serious or disappointed.
Tierra squeezed next to Hagrid and gave him a big hug.
Hagrid seemed flattered and smiled even more broadly.
Tierra shook her head and, along with the other young wizards, followed Hagrid, gliding and stumbling, seemingly down a steep, narrow path.
The path was pitch black on both sides, flanked by dense woods, and no one spoke. Only the occasional sniffle could be heard.
Like evil medieval sorcerers from legend, they walked along a dark, moonless forest path, led by a guide, toward the mysterious castle in the center of the forest.
“Turn this corner, and you’ll see Hogwarts for the first time,” Hagrid called back.
A black lake suddenly unfolds at the end of the narrow path.
On the high hillside across the lake stands a magnificent castle, its spires towering and its windows gleaming like diamonds in the darkness.
"Hogwarts," Tyrell whispered, her voice brimming with barely suppressed excitement.
“No more than four people per boat,” Hagrid shouted, pointing to a group of small boats moored on the shore. Harry, Ron, and Tierra boarded one of the boats, and Hermione followed.
Neville could only go to the ship next to it.
"Is everyone on board?" Hagrid called out, as he was traveling alone in his own boat.
"That's good. Well then, let's go!" A fleet of small boats immediately glided across the mirror-like lake and sailed forward.
Everyone remained silent, gazing at the colossal castle that soared into the clouds. As they approached the cliff where the castle stood, it seemed to rise directly above them. "Duck!" Hagrid shouted as the first small boats drew near the precipice.
Everyone lowered their heads as the small boat carried them through a canopy of ivy covering the cliff face to a hidden, open entrance. They followed a dark tunnel that seemed to lead them into the castle's underground.
Finally, they arrived at a place that resembled an underground dock, and then climbed up a ground paved with gravel and pebbles.
“Hey! Is this your toad?” Hagrid said, pointing to an empty boat as he inspected the empty beds.
“Oh, thank you, Merlin,” Neville said with delight, quickly taking the toad from Hagrid’s hand.
Then they followed Hagrid down a winding path to a huge wooden door.
Hagrid raised his enormous hand and knocked three times on the wooden door.
The wooden door slowly opened.
Standing behind the wooden door was an elderly witch wearing a bright green robe, with her hair neatly styled and a straight nose.
“First-year student, Professor McGonagall,” Hagrid said.
“Thank you, Hagrid. Leave this to me; you go and enjoy the feast.” Professor McGonagall nodded.
Professor McGonagall flung the door wide open, so wide it looked like it could fit ten Gringotts. The ceiling was so high it was almost invisible, and torches blazed around the stone walls. It was even more magnificent and imposing than the movies Tierra had seen in her previous life.
Tierra followed behind Harry, his body trembling uncontrollably. His knuckles were white from gripping his fists so tightly. He pursed his lips tightly, trying hard not to suddenly laugh like a fool.
Tierra knew that if he didn't control himself, he would burst out laughing, because that was exactly how he reacted when he first entered the Harry Potter area of Universal Studios.
He was surrounded by a group of laughing people back then, but now he's surrounded by a group of nervous little wizards.
“Tiera, don’t be nervous…” Ron gently patted Tiera’s shoulder and said, “My brothers… my brothers said the entrance ceremony won’t be too difficult. They won’t just send us packing and going home, right?”
Ron thought Tiera was nervous, so he quietly comforted her.
“Oh, okay,” Tierra said, taking a deep breath and trying to relax her body. “Thank you, Ron.”
“Welcome to Hogwarts,” said Professor McGonagall. “The opening banquet is about to begin, but before you take your seats in the dining hall, you all need to decide which house you will be in. Sort is a very important ceremony, because during your time at Hogwarts, your house will be like your home. You will attend classes with your classmates, live in your house dormitories, and spend your free time together in your house’s common rooms.”
A group is like a family, and comrades are like brothers and sisters.
For some reason, Tiera suddenly remembered this sentence.
"The four houses are Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. Each house has its own glorious history and has produced outstanding wizards and witches. During your time at Hogwarts, your excellent performance will earn points for your house, while any misconduct will deduct points. At the end of the year, the house with the highest score will receive the House Cup, a great honor. I hope that whichever house you are sorted into, you will bring glory to your house."
Soon you will become more "Gran" (a derogatory term for people who are overweight or have a large share of the profits).
"In a few minutes, the college selection ceremony will be held in front of the entire school. I suggest you take some time to tidy yourselves up and look your best while you wait. After all, this is a big event."
Her gaze lingered on Neville's cloak and the grime on Ron's nose for a moment, then she nodded silently when she saw Tierra's impeccable hairstyle and attire.
Harry nervously tried to smooth his hair.
“I’ll come pick you up when they’re ready,” Professor McGonagall said. “Please keep quiet while you wait.”
Harry only breathed a sigh of relief after Professor McGonagall left the room.
