Someone opened the door without even knocking, and Raul rushed into the office.
"Miss Ais is back! She's currently returning to headquarters via the North Gate...!"
Before Finn and the others could even speak, and before Raul could finish his sentence, his emerald hair began to flutter.
Raul rolled his eyes in surprise as he watched Riveria walk past him and leave the room. Finn and the others exchanged glances, trying not to laugh.
After navigating a long corridor and stairs, she made her way to the main entrance.
In that spot bathed in glaring sunlight, one could see the group members packed together, and the blonde, golden-eyed girl being greeted by them.
"Miss Ais! I was so worried about you! Thank goodness you're alright!"
"Oh~, Ais made me cry~"
"Lefia has seemed very worried ever since you left?"
"I'm sorry... Lefia."
"Tch! There's absolutely nothing to worry about, okay?"
"Bert is no different; his tail keeps twitching nervously."
"I didn't! Stop talking nonsense, you idiot Amazon!"
"What did you say?!"
These joyful voices and warm scenes made Riveria squint her eyes.
The young, wounded, and all-too-alone little girl is no longer here.
Only when she finds a home does her daughter's face return to a smile.
This put Riveria at ease, filling her heart with a tender and loving feeling.
Soon, the girl noticed her and walked over.
Ais glanced up at Riveria's face like a child afraid of being scolded, and only smiled back when she saw the smile on Riveria's face.
"I'm back... Riveria."
"Yes, you're back, Ais."
Both of them smiled.
Her blonde and emerald hair swayed slightly.
A gentle breeze passed between the two laughing souls and departed with a smile.
Side Story: Sword Oratoria 9 Afterword
This concludes the ninth episode of the spin-off, which, chronologically speaking, represents another aspect of the eighth episode of the main story.
I'm a little embarrassed to admit that the structure makes it seem like an abridged version of the modern story, but I think readers will enjoy it even more if they read through the eighth volume of the main story.
The second season ends in this episode.
Unlike the first part, which was filled with dungeon raids by the supposedly strongest faction or their exploits, the second part focuses primarily on the past of each character. I wrote this interlude because I wanted to give the protagonist of the spin-off a grand finale (although there are still some characters who haven't been explored much yet).
Personally, I hope that the protagonist's past in the side story will be revealed in the main story, so while writing this series, I was always worried about how much of her past I could depict. However, as I was writing this time, I felt, incredibly, that the protagonist's past... or rather, her bonds with her family (familia) seemed to slowly become the theme.
The frivolous gods are the same, as are the dwarves who wait for the protagonists from a distance, the dwarves who are bold in nature but laugh like old men… and even the elven royalty, who can be called another mother figure. I think these characters surrounding the protagonist probably add more color to this episode's story than I imagined.
Especially the elven royalty, whose inner turmoil mirrored that of the protagonist, led the author into a story they initially thought they couldn't write. When she uttered the line, "I hope to love you," I was genuinely, truly startled. I'm sorry, I shouldn't have made you single. In short, regarding the protagonist and the elven royalty, whose expressions are far more varied than in modern times and who are always arguing, I hope there will be another opportunity to write about their side stories.
Now, allow me to move on to the thank-you remarks.
To editors Takahashi and Kitamura, thank you both for supporting the author who suddenly applied the brakes just as the project was nearing its end; you truly helped me a great deal. Thank you to Haimuraki Yotaka for illustrating the adorable side story protagonists, such as the past chapters and the village girl, which are different from her usual style. Author, despite making your schedule so tight, you still added beautiful illustrations to the work; I am extremely grateful. Deepest thanks also to everyone involved. And finally, to all the readers, thank you for purchasing this book.
I hope to see you all again in the next episode.
Thank you everyone. Goodbye.

Gaiden: Sword Oratoria 9 - The Epilogue of the Bonus Girl and the Wolf
"Hitting me like that with 'Come with me' all of a sudden, Bert Roca is really rude! But I like that assertive side of you!"
"Shut up, you brat!"
As the sun set and the moon shone brightly, the voices of a young girl (an Amazon) and a werewolf (a werewolf) echoed through the Reconstruction District of the "Moonlit Street" in southwestern Orario. A female contingent of the Loki Familia followed behind them.
It's the fifth night since the war began against the kingdom of Lachia, which is attacking the labyrinth city. After the Loki Familia decides to retreat, member Bert insists on taking Lina Tarly, who was on the same battlefield, with him, to resume addressing a previously unresolved issue—the search for the "key" to the man-made labyrinth (Knossos). They are currently heading to the "Palace of the Goddess (Bèlit-Babili)," where Lina mentioned seeing a similar object.
"Bert, you're so noisy! The guild guards will find us!"
"But he seemed quite happy."
As a large group of people moved in droves in search of the most compelling clues to the "key," Tiona and Tione spoke slowly behind Bert and his companions.
"You two might as well just get married—although that girl is a bit... scary—"
"Yeah, you're the only weirdo who would kindly like you, besides Lina and that girl, there's no other one."
"Thank you, my compatriots! Thank you everyone! My sister Lina is marrying Bert Roca!!"
"Believe it or not, I'll kick you stinking Amazons to death!?"
Lina raised one hand, beaming, while Bert roared angrily beside her. Furious, he felt he could no longer associate with these people and stormed off, leaving Tiona and the others behind. Lina quickly followed.
When only the two of them were walking side by side, the girl stopped acting silly as before.
She smiled faintly as she murmured beside Bert:
"Hey, Bert Roca."
What's wrong?
Thank you for the flowers.
Bert's shoulders swayed slightly.
I'm so glad you still remember.
"It's so noisy."
"When I saw those flowers there, I almost cried."
"It's so noisy."
"Thank you, I like you the most."
"...It's so noisy."

You will come back again.
Someone said this to me.
*
"No, I can't find Ryu anywhere."
When the human employee Lunova returned, she shook her head.
Inside the tavern "The Abundant Mistress" on East Street before it opened.
Upon hearing her report, the shop assistants immediately became noisy.
"Where did Ryu go, meow?! He must have skipped work, meow, unforgivable, meow..."
"But this is the first time she's disappeared without telling anyone, leaving only a letter..."
Anya, the cat-person, slumped over the table, complaining, her tone lacking any energy. Lunova, clutching a letter in one hand, also sighed, as if she had lost her composure.
Ryu disappeared from the tavern.
Without giving any notice, they simply disappeared.
She left a letter in her room in another building, written in beautiful handwriting, explaining that she was temporarily leaving the shop, along with her apologies.
"She sometimes disappears suddenly, but... I feel like this time..."
Something is different from before.
The shop assistants had this intuition, and so until just now, they had been splitting up to search for places where their elf colleagues might have gone.
"After all, she's been very tense lately. Just watching her... makes me very uneasy."
"Hey, you heartless cat, what kind of talk is that?"
"oops."
When Lunova corrected her, Kroy covered her mouth with one hand.
The cat-person, who had been squinting as if she had become a completely different person, seemed to have instantly switched personalities, and when she removed her hand, her usual smile returned to her face.
"Meow~...I've been forced to do things that are dirtier than cleaning stinky sewers, so I worry about whether something has happened to her, meow. Or rather, I worry about whether she'll do something, meow."
She spoke with a flippant smile, wagging her cat tail.
That was less insight and more a premonition.
It was a premonition that arose from being one of the people who knew about the past of the spirit named "Swift Wind".
"Hello."
Lunova stopped her from making that half-joking remark again.
She glanced at the pale gray-haired girl who was silently standing in the corner.
Seele remained silent, looking preoccupied.
Anya and the others shut up for a moment, then started talking all at once, as if trying to change the atmosphere.
"That white-haired guy is always holed up in the dungeon, making Seele increasingly listless, meow! This must be a conspiracy by that white-haired guy, meow!"
"That's right! It's all the young man's fault, meow! As an apology, the cat wants him to bury his face in his butt crack, meow!"
"That's utter slander, and what nonsense are you spouting?"
Anya and Chloe spout nonsense, which is then ridiculed by Lunova; seeing this common scene in daily life, Seele is still depressed.
Because within their small circle, the composed and earnest spirit who calmly corrects people doesn't have that position.
Just as everyone was arguing, the door suddenly opened.
"What are you silly girls doing! Stop chatting and get to work!"
It was Mia, the dwarf shopkeeper.
Her roar startled Anya and the others, who scattered like birds and beasts and left the store.
In the blink of an eye, the store became quiet.
Seele and Mia were left gazing at each other.
"Miya's mother...do you know anything?"
"If you don't know, how would I know?"
You have the deepest bond with that elf.
The dwarf shopkeeper dismissed the statement with indifference.
She turned her back to the girl and left.
"What a little elf who needs to be taken care of."
He left these words behind as he departed.
"Ryu..."
