The author seems to recall seeing this game advertised as an "overwhelming dungeon fantasy" somewhere before (there must have been some). But honestly, even the author feels that this game isn't really that much of a dungeon. It seems like it's just a repetitive process of going into dungeons to gain experience points and defeat monsters to level up.

Before the story moves to the surface, I wanted to incorporate plenty of "dungeon" elements. This was the only thing on my mind when I was writing the fifth volume.

When I hear the word "dungeon," the first things that come to mind are dark labyrinths, treasure chests slumbering within, overflowing with gold and silver, and then colossal monsters guarding those treasures like sentinels. The author, in particular, considers the last of these colossal monsters indispensable. A powerful monster—or even better, a dragon—that plunges adventurers into the dungeons into the deepest abyss. Whether it's escape or battle, this is what fantasy literature should be about, though this is just my personal opinion, I firmly believe it. This work, too, only finally includes this kind of content in the fifth installment of the series. "Shouldn't it have been in the first volume?" I can almost hear this question coming from all directions; I'd better cover my ears.

Will the monster elder unleash a ferocious fire breath, or a devastating limb attack capable of easily sweeping away an entire army? Perhaps it's a cursed ray that can turn anyone who meets its gaze into stone. Even when toyed with by such an absurdly powerful opponent, even when bloodied and battered, these people from the fantasy world still fight bravely and unitedly with their comrades. They are truly amazing.

No matter how old the author is, he can never forget the excitement and longing he felt as a child.
