Chapter 83 Release Update Notice

It will be available at midnight tonight, with 8 chapters.

I'll release half of the four chapters at midnight, and the remaining half at 6 pm tomorrow.

After it's published, there will be a minimum of 3 to 5 chapters per day, but chapters may be combined (for example, two chapters of 2 words each will be combined into one chapter of 1 words). The specific update time will be adjusted, and I will notify you in the author's notes after all 8 chapters are published tomorrow.

As for extra chapters based on donations, we'll wait until we have donations like those from patrons.

Alright, now that we've covered the important stuff, what follows is just rambling. If you're not interested, you can skip it and wait for the midnight update.

———————————————————————————————————————————————————— ——————————————

To be honest, I never imagined that my novel, "The Great Villain Who Saves the Suffering," would end in that way. Even the day before I was in the hospital preparing for surgery, I still asked my dad to bring the keyboard to the hospital so that I wouldn't have to stop updating it.

I really liked the concept of that book because after I finished writing "The Fourth Calamity, Yet They Call Me a Saint," I talked with the editor-in-chief, Captain Dragonfly, for a long time and sent him many manuscripts with different backgrounds, such as cyberpunk science fiction and cultivation novels.

He wasn't satisfied with any of that; he just asked me what I wanted to write.

From a commercial perspective, online writers generally choose suitable themes based on what kind of topics are popular in the market.

But when I saw this question, I was momentarily stunned.

Because the content of online novels basically depends entirely on what the protagonist wants to do.

Speaking for myself, when I write about the protagonist's biggest purpose or goal in a book, I always put myself in their shoes and think, "What would I do in this situation?"

It might sound a bit grandiose and unrealistic, but isn't the point of a novel to write about things that people want to do in real life but can't, right?

What are some things I dare to think about but not dare to do in reality?

I honestly told Captain Dragonfly, "I want to write something about anti-oppression, about revolution, and preferably something with a bit of 'red' in it."

This is practically a slippery slope that online novels should never touch.

But Captain Dragonfly is a good editor-in-chief, and he still gave me an idea—"an alternate history of the Republic of China".

There is no more dangerous background than this, but there is also no more suitable background!

I was so excited when I heard that I tossed and turned all night, unable to sleep. My mind was filled with countless thoughts, like waves crashing on the shore.

In less than a week, I wrote a draft that I felt was excellent and sent it to Captain Dragonfly. He gave me the highest praise I've ever received: "It's got the feel for it!"

So I posted the book on my alternate account, 【船頭鸦】, on February 5th as promised, and it just finished posting...

I revised it overnight, and with the help of my editor Jiang Cha, I finally managed to send the book out.

From beginning to end, I understood that writing that book well was not only a responsibility to myself and the readers, but also a way to live up to the expectations of the editors in Group 10.

Even though the book was almost completely banned later, I didn't get discouraged. I tried my best to revise all the potentially prohibited content without going against my original intention. I was practically begging the censors to let me do it.

Although the final subscription only reached 1,000, I am still optimistic.

Whether it's "Hogwarts Without a Savior" or the original book about the saint, my initial subscription numbers were only around a thousand, or even less than a thousand.

However, the savior got the 10,000-subscription badge a year after the series ended, while the saint started a new account and achieved a great product with more than 7,000 subscriptions without any traffic generation.

Therefore, I believe I can definitely write better and better, and present this story in the most perfect state.

As a result, I was sent to the hospital the very next day after it went on sale.

I underwent three full days of examinations. I was in so much pain that I only slept for four hours during those three days. The doctor had almost diagnosed me with cholecystitis based on experience, but even a color Doppler ultrasound specifically targeting the gallbladder couldn't detect anything.

When my mother was crying and preparing to take me to Shanghai for a checkup, the last MRI finally revealed the problem: cholecystitis caused by gallstones blocking the bile duct.

Because it was delayed for too long, the situation has worsened. The gallbladder has become completely necrotic and suppurated, and the infection has spread to the liver and lungs, causing pneumonia and liver abnormalities.

That book I had high hopes for is completely impossible to write. If it's delayed any longer, I'll go into shock and be sent to the ICU.

We need to save our lives first before we think about anything else.

After the surgery, I spent ten days in the hospital recuperating, and I kept thinking about how to restart "The Great Villain Who Saves the Suffering".

But my mindset after escaping death was obviously a bit off. I was impatient, feeling sorry for both the readers and the editor, and I was eager to write a new book that could start like that one.

The final result was that it only got worse and worse, and even I couldn't stand it anymore, let alone the editor.

After clearing my mind for two or three days, I finally realized that what I need to do now is not to think about writing something more brilliant, but to calm down as soon as possible.

That's how the book "Hogwarts' Sunny Snape" came about.

Don't laugh, but I already wrote the beginning of this book a long time ago.

It was probably around July of 2024.

When I had written about saints on my alternate account to around 100,000 words, starting a new book on my new account put a lot of pressure on me. I was anxious every day looking at the meager numbers, and I kept thinking about whether I should just shamelessly go back to writing fanfiction.

Then, with the mindset of relaxing myself and writing for myself, I came up with this idea and wrote the beginning of the first three chapters. But after enjoying it for two days, I threw it into the draft library and ignored it. I also like the book about the sage more and more as I write it.

It wasn't until last month that I decided to change my mindset and sent the opening paragraph I wrote a year ago to my editor.

She thought the story was great, and I wrote it well too. I'm just worried that my mindset is different now than it was a year ago, and I might not be able to write it well later.

So I rewrote the first three chapters all the way up to the part where Harry was taken away, and sent it to her again. She confirmed it was okay, so I felt relieved and sent the book out.

I really love every story I write, truly, from the bottom of my heart.

The same goes for the cheerful and optimistic Snape. The book that made me known to more people was undoubtedly the one with a dark and oppressive atmosphere, "No Savior".

But actually, my first book, "Big Problems," and my second book, "Defense Professor," are both lighthearted and cheerful.

Now that I've accumulated so many books, I'm confident I can write this story well!

The first vampire story is proof of that; it was so complete and well-developed that it didn't leave any loose ends for the werewolf story that followed. As a result, many readers started to skip the rest of the book after finishing Blood Nyx, and my reading data dropped so much the other day that I was practically numb.

However, just like my previous books, I am confident that I will write better and better and will not let everyone down!

Don't worry, I will definitely try my best to update after it's published. I love reading, and I love writing even more.

I will continue to improve, and I'm sure I'll be able to write even better stories in the future!

———————— July 15, 2025. A large ship.

Chapter 84 Snape, you just wait!

The moment the blinding flash of light shot out from the barrel of the gun Granger was holding.

The werewolf charging at him was swept away by a powerful force, flying backward like a kite with a broken string!

The loud noise attracted the attention of everyone present!

The three werewolves who were still standing all saw their companion fall to the ground with a bloody mess on his chest, blood gushing from the corner of his mouth, and he was clearly not going to make it!

Not to mention the werewolves, even old Lupin was stunned.

His wife was a Muggle, and old Lupin probably knew just how deadly a "gun" could be to Muggles!

But this was the first time he had seen this weapon in action, especially since Granger was holding a double-barreled shotgun.

The shotgun shells fired at close range were enough to overwhelm even the most self-taught werewolf wizards, most of whom had never been to Hogwarts and couldn't even use the Armor Charm. Even if they were protected by the Armor Charm...

Old Lupin could hardly imagine what level of Ironclad Curse could withstand such violent damage at such close range!

The werewolves howled as their companion's blood splattered all over them. Granger's shot had almost instantly robbed them of their will to fight, and the remaining three turned and ran away in the next second!

Granger's expression was cold, but the splatter of blood clearly made his breathing more rapid.

As a dentist, he always obeyed the law and never imagined that he would one day shoot a bullet into a person's flesh, except when he sometimes used the gun for hunting.

But after his daughter was captured and he witnessed the wizard's magic, he completely abandoned his former peace and kindness.

Having spent so much time with Severus and Lupin, even if he didn't understand the situation in the wizarding world, he knew just how dangerous the werewolves who had captured Hermione were!

His wife's tears before leaving home and his worry about his missing daughter finally erupted at this moment.

After firing the first shot, Granger didn't hesitate at all. He immediately broke open the barrel, ejected the spent cartridge, and took out two new shotgun shells from his pouch, smoothly reinserting them into the barrel!

By this time, Severus and Lupin had already chased after them, and Granger followed suit.

Just as they rushed along the path into the werewolf's camp by the sea, Greyback, who had heard the commotion, also discovered Severus and his two companions with his other men!

The moment Greyback saw Snape, his eyes widened in disbelief!

"Severus Snape!"

He was clearly very familiar with that figure.

Ten years ago, when Voldemort was all-powerful in the wizarding world, Snape, as one of the group hired to help the Dark Lord achieve his great vision, was someone Greyback could only look up to.

Greyback was naturally paying attention to what was happening in the wizarding world recently.

After listening to the trial, Greyback and Lucius had the same thought: he simply did not believe that this Death Eater, who had once been completely evil by the Dark Lord's side, would suddenly change and actually say something about atoning for his past sins.

Merlin would laugh his head off if he heard that!

So he simply assumed that Severus was putting on a show for everyone else in order to exonerate himself.

He saw Severus himself here today.

This former die-hard Death Eater led his men into his lair and went on a killing spree, showing no sign of turning his back on them!

This infuriated Graybuck.

When the werewolf leader called out his name, Severus, of course, noticed him as well.

“Fenrir, you’re really going downhill,” Severus sneered. “Now you even have to use the Dark Lord’s name to kidnap a child?”

"You traitor! What do you know!" Greyback roared, "The Dark Lord will punish you! He'll make you wish you were dead!"

However, just as Greyback finished speaking, Severus suddenly swung his wand!

"The Divine Edge is Shadowless!"

This extremely powerful dark magic, developed and created by Snape himself, possesses a cutting ability unmatched by any other spell.

Graybuck felt a chill run down his spine!

His eyes turned vertical in fright, and he instinctively hunched over. Even without the physical deformity, he looked like a real wolf as he suddenly darted to one side!

But he escaped unscathed; the other werewolf beside him was not so lucky.

"what!!"

With a pitiful howl, the werewolf's arm flew off suddenly, the cut at the shoulder as clean as sliced butter.

After Severus made the first move, Lupin the Elder and Granger behind him did not hesitate and aimed their wands and guns at the other werewolves.

Greyback glared at Severus as if he wanted to devour him alive!

But what the werewolf leader shouted was still true.

"You just wait, you despicable traitor! Release those kittens! Run! Run, all of you!"

Even before he gave the order, the werewolves were already scrambling to escape, while one after another, small black heads emerged from the shadows of the sea cliff.

Pairs of eyes, unique to wild beasts, lit up in the shadows—it turned out to be eight or nine black kittens!

It was obvious that some kind of magic had been used to conceal and bind them before. After the werewolves escaped, the black cats broke free of their restraints and glared angrily at Severus and his companions, making them the targets of their rage!

“Robert! Get between me and Lyle! There are too many of them, you're not safe!”

Severus acted decisively, and old Lupin protected Granger in the middle.

“It’s a Madago cat! Werewolves couldn’t possibly tame such a magical creature! They must have stolen it from somewhere else!” Old Lupin said urgently.

The moment Old Lu Ping finished speaking, those seemingly harmless little black cats suddenly grew to enormous sizes!

They grew sharp teeth and claws like cheetahs, and then, in a pack, pounced on Severus and his two companions without hesitation!

"Lyle! Protect Robert!"

Severus gave a final, loud instruction, then swung his wand violently.

"The ground is frozen and the sky is cold!"

He unleashed a wide-range freezing spell, freezing five Madago cats in place in just a few seconds, but a few still managed to escape and rush towards him.

"Thunderbolt explosion!"

"Boom!"

An explosive spell, equivalent to more than 20 kilograms of TNT, exploded beside Severus!
