The fisherman glared at him, then reached his hand into the sewer.

"Human, what happened to the task I assigned you?"

A moment later, he spoke with his eyes closed, while the white tumor on the top of his head quietly opened.

“I have deepened my relationship with the gravedigger, and once I complete his commission, I can ask him about the whereabouts of the escaped will.”

Liu Zheng replied calmly.

"What does he want you to do?"

The sewer asked.

"He wanted me to go grave robbing."

The gravedigger only asked him to do this to get by, and he didn't ask him to keep it a secret. It shouldn't be a problem if he tells.

"Oh, go to the right."

The sewer worker raised his hand and said.

"Ok."

Liu's expression remained normal, but inwardly he rolled his eyes.

When the sewer worker asked him that, he thought he was going to get some help, but this was all he got?

As expected, all leaders are equally corrupt.

After walking a short distance, he soon discovered the security door on the wall.

Liu Zheng knocked on the door, and after about ten seconds the security door opened automatically.

"Uncle Electrician."

Unsurprisingly, he was greeted by little Tonya and the emotionless Red Ghost behind her.

"I brought some food and drinks for the children and left them by the river over there. I'll move them over here in a bit."

Liu Zheng said to Red Ghost.

"No need, you go in first, I'll take care of it."

Red Ghost shook its head.

"Row."

Without hesitation, he picked up Tonya and carried her into the shelter.

"Uncle Electrician!"

As before, the children rushed over enthusiastically.

This time, however, one short but tall figure was missing from the crowd.

"I'm sorry, children, I've lost Paul."

Liu Zheng said somewhat sadly.

Paul had already sacrificed himself, leaving only a cobbled-together body to enjoy his final moments of peace in the shelter. In the end, he burned himself out completely for him, leaving not even a trace of his existence.

What Liu Zheng did for Paul was not worth it at all, but he did it anyway.

“A soldier will not be lost, comrade electrician, Paul has simply gone where he was meant to be.”

A slightly hoarse voice said.

Liu Zheng turned around and saw a little girl quietly watching him.

She wore a blue and white striped sailor uniform and a light gray skirt, her neatly combed hair only reaching her ears, making her look both youthful and capable.

"Are you Rita? Or should I call you Comrade Ustinovich?"

Liu Zheng remembered her name.

"Whatever you like, Electrician. A name is just a label, just like we call you Electrician."

Rita said calmly.

"Oh. I must say, you're actually quite cute when you're pretending to be an adult."

He suddenly stretched out his tentacles and ruffled Rita's hair.

This sudden action caught Rita off guard. By the time she realized what was happening, her head was a messy doghouse, and even the glued-on scalp was wrinkled.

"what!!!"

Rita let out a soul-piercing scream that almost pierced the shelter.

“Яубьютебя, ублюдок (I’m going to kill you, you bastard!)”

She lunged at Liu Zheng with bared teeth and claws, like a ferocious female leopard or more like a Pallas's cat.

Of course, Liu Zheng wouldn't let her catch him; he had already fled the scene before she could scream.

The two chased each other around the classroom, knocking over desks and chairs.

“Good job, Rita, kick his heel with your little leather shoes.”

"Electrician, she's coming from the left."

Don't throw my pencil case away!

Upon seeing this, the children clapped and cheered, splitting into two factions and becoming their advisors.

"Okay, stop making trouble."

This farce continued until Red Ghost returned.

Lida reluctantly loosened her grip and jumped off Liu Zheng.

"Ouch, ouch, ouch! Your scalp is so loose, but your teeth are so tight. Did you secretly take calcium supplements?"

The latter said, rubbing the teeth marks on his face.

"Say it again!"

Rita raised her eyebrows, looking like she was about to explode again.

"Alright, Rita, you're a good girl, don't take it to heart by arguing with adults."

Red Ghost smoothed Rita's hair and offered words of comfort.

"As for you, I brought you in to help with the work, not to be the leader of the kids."

It nodded at Liu Zheng and said.

"Playing with others is also a form of work, right?"

Liu Zheng argued illogically.

"Rita, Seryozha, go and move five boxes of cardboard out of the warehouse."

Red Ghost commanded.

"Okay, mentor."

A tall boy with a long face stepped forward and pulled Rita toward the warehouse, while Rita did not forget to turn back and give him an indignant look.

"I thought we would live peacefully in the shelter until the end of the metropolis..."

Red Ghost said with his back to Liu Zheng.

"I shouldn't have bothered you."

Liu Zheng put away his smug smile and said...

“You did bother us, but it wasn’t something you shouldn’t have done.”

Red Ghost shook its head.

"No soldier would rather be a living epitaph than perish with the enemy. They were great in life, and you have made them glorious in death."

"Whether as their leader or their mentor, I should thank you."

"So, where do you come from, stranger?"

It turned around, looked directly into Liu Zheng's eyes, and slowly asked.

Chapter 538 Red Ghost: Don't Let It Go Bad, Comrade

"Warning: Disclosing information related to Hell Game is prohibited."

A system notification sounded in Liu Zheng's mind.

"I can't say."

He said frankly.

“There are many visitors from other dimensions in Metropolis, but you seem to be more special than them all. My ability can erase the ‘abnormalities’ on them, but it cannot erase yours.”

“I don’t like City Hall, but I dislike uncontrollable variables like you even more. The metropolis is like a cesspool full of toxic substances, but those who want to survive can still try to survive.”

"After all, that person only wanted the metropolis to exist, but the higher-dimensional wills behind you may not."

"So when I first met you, I wanted to get rid of you as soon as possible. But considering that every life is precious, I decided to give you a chance, and you seized it."

Red Ghost stated bluntly.

"I've always been good at seizing opportunities, otherwise I wouldn't be alive today."

He boasted a little.

“Indeed, you seized every opportunity after that. So, I’ve decided to give you another chance.”

"Tell me, what is your purpose? If you don't want to tell me, I will banish you back to your original world. If your answer satisfies me, I will allow you to stay in the Metropolis."

"But if you lie, then stay in the shelter with us forever. Don't even think about escaping with your tricks; they won't work against me."

Red Ghost reached out and clenched his fist, and six iron curtains appeared in the air, trapping Liu Zheng inside.

"Warning: Player is bound by an unknown skill and cannot complete the dungeon until the skill is removed."

The system prompt sounded.

"I knew it."

Liu Zheng was not surprised by the result.

The metropolis is so high that even gods must abide by its rules. Even the Primordial Time Dragon, who can traverse multiple timelines, has to submit a report before resigning. As one of the strongest beings in the metropolis, it is expected that Red Ghost can detect the system's presence and interfere with its functions.

Rather, it's much better to be discovered by Red Ghost than by anyone else.

“I didn’t come into this world voluntarily. Before that, I was just an ordinary person with ALS. The mission required me to survive in this world for more than 72 hours, so I did my best to survive.”

"Eating food that no human can eat, doing things that no human can do, enduring pain that no human can endure, and finally becoming this inhuman, ghostly creature."

"You ask me what my purpose is? I have no purpose. At first, I just wanted to survive, and now I still just want to survive."

Liu Zheng said calmly.

His mental state has long since entered a state of chaos. Living is of course the best, but death is not necessarily a bad thing.

Given his relationship with Red Ghost, it shouldn't be a problem for it to send him to a cemetery for burial.

With a tomb keeper as a backer and a red pig as a bodyguard, life might be even more comfortable than when they were alive.

How much longer are you going to stay in the Metropolis?

Red Ghost asked.

"Theoretically speaking, I should be able to leave now."

Liu Zheng said.

"Then why aren't you leaving?"

"Because there are still many things left to do."

he replied.

"For example?"

"There are too many to remember them all."

Liu Zheng smiled wryly.
