"Security advisor?" Fury sneered, his finger running across the projection, and the screen switched to a set of energy readings.
"This advisor's casual blow in battle is powerful enough to destroy Stark Tower. What would happen if he used his full strength?"
Tony put down his glass, the cynical expression on his face gradually fading. "So you're spying on me?"
"We monitor all potential threats." Fury took a step forward, and the distance between them suddenly shortened.
"Especially when some billionaire suddenly starts working with unknown superpowered beings."
The atmosphere in the laboratory suddenly became tense.
Tony could feel the pressure emanating from Fury, but he didn't back down.
"Listen, Fury." Tony's voice turned cold. "Xiao is my partner. The source of his abilities and the purpose of his actions are my personal affairs. SHIELD has no jurisdiction."
Fury's single eye narrowed slightly. "Anything supernatural falls under SHIELD's jurisdiction, Stark. Especially when it could threaten national security."
"National security?" Tony scoffed.
"You are the biggest security threat. I've seen S.H.I.E.L.D.'s safeguards. They're using the Cosmic Cube as a toy for research, though I don't know what this toy can do."
"But from what I know, Hydra uses cosmic magic to do evil."
Fury's expression changed slightly: "How did you know?"
"I know a lot more than you think, Director," Tony interrupted, walking towards another holographic terminal.
"For example, you are currently monitoring the big green guy 24 hours a day."
Fury was silent for a few seconds, then suddenly changed his strategy: "Stark, I'm not here to antagonize you."
His tone softened, "Actually, I'm here to invite you to join the Avengers."
Tony turned, eyebrows raised. "The Avengers? Sounds like some second-rate band."
"A special operations team." Fury took out a encrypted document from his inner pocket.
"Comprised of the world's most exceptional psychics and scientists, they respond to threats that ordinary armies cannot handle."
Chapter 10 Captain America 3.0
Tony took the file and quickly scanned the names on it.
Black Widow, Hawkeye, his gaze lingered for a moment on a candidate to be confirmed, Bruce Banner.
"Interesting list." Tony tossed the file back to Fury.
"But I have a question. Who is in charge of this team? S.H.I.E.L.D.? The World Security Council? Or some secret organization I don't know about?"
Fury's expression became unreadable. "Under special circumstances, the group will have the right to make its own decisions."
"That is to say, in the end, I still have to listen to you."
Tony shook his head, "Sorry, Nick. I'm not good at following orders, especially when the leader is a smug old man."
Tony paused, a little hesitant, and finally said, "Besides, I don't like working for an organization that is more than half-understood by Hydra."
Nick Fury's eye tightened: "Hydra? How did you know?"
"Xiao," Tony lied bluntly, "He has a... special ability that allows him to see through disguises. He said that at least a third of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents work for Hydra."
The laboratory fell into silence.
Fury's expression grew exceedingly serious, and Tony could see he was assessing the credibility of this information.
"Even if it's true," Fury finally spoke, his voice low.
"That's why we need someone like Xiao to join us. His abilities can help us eliminate spies."
Tony walked back to the window and looked at the night view of New York: "Xiao is not the kind of person you can control, Fury. His power is far beyond your imagination."
"No one is uncontrollable, Stark." Fury's voice was dangerous.
"including you."
Tony turned and met Fury's eyes. "Threats don't work on me, Chief. I have better partners."
The air between the two seemed to freeze.
Finally, Fury stepped back and put away the projection device. "We will continue to investigate your partner, Stark. If he is found to be a threat to the public..."
"Forget it, Nick." Tony waved his hand impatiently.
"Instead of wasting time investigating Xiao, why not check your own base? I heard that Agent Sitwell has been particularly interested in the Cosmic Cube recently?"
Fury's expression instantly turned alert.
Sitwell is a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent in charge of several classified projects.
Tony mentioned this name deliberately in order to verify the information Xiao Han had deliberately told him about Hydra's infiltration.
"Thanks for the... reminder," Fury said finally, turning and heading towards the elevator.
"But our conversation isn't over yet, Stark. SHIELD will be watching you."
After the elevator door closed, Tony breathed a sigh of relief and sat down in the chair.
Jarvis immediately reported: "Sir, there is still a heat signal detected on the top floor. Someone is lurking in the ventilation system."
Tony sneered, "Black Widow, I guess? Leave her alone. She won't find anything anyway."
He walked to the hidden safe and took out the modified serum. The blue liquid shimmered alluringly under the light.
"Jarvis, prepare the injection procedure." Tony's voice became firm.
"If SHIELD has already started, we need to speed up."
"Sir, are you sure you want to use a biological agent that hasn't been fully tested?" Jarvis asked.
“According to the agreement…”
"I wrote the agreement, Jarvis," Tony interrupted.
"And...I believe in Xiao's skills."
Even Tony himself was a little surprised when he said this.
He never trusts anyone easily, let alone an alien with unknown powers.
But some intuition told him that Xiao Han was serious, and that the serum was indeed a gift as he said, not a trap.
"Also," Tony continued, "activate the Iron Legion Project. I want all Mark series armors on combat readiness."
"Executed, sir," Jarvis responded, "but based on an analysis of Mr. Xiao's abilities, our weapons systems are virtually ineffective against him."
Tony looked at the liquid in the test tube, a smile on his face: "Who said it was used to deal with Xiao?"
He placed the serum into the auto-injector, his eyes sharpening.
The sudden visit from S.H.I.E.L.D. confirmed his guess that Fury would not easily let go of someone like Xiao Han.
And if Hydra has indeed infiltrated S.H.I.E.L.D., then a more dangerous enemy may already be operating in the shadows.
"Prepare the holographic projection. I want to redesign the Mark armor." Tony rolled up his sleeves.
"Also, contact Rod and tell him that the weekend party is cancelled. I have more important things to do."
As the auto-injector pushed the blue liquid into Tony's vein, a strange warmth instantly flowed through his body.
He felt his muscle fibers reorganizing, his nerve conduction speeding up, and his senses becoming unusually sharp.
"Vital signs are stable, and all indicators have improved significantly," Jarvis reported. "Preliminary tests show a 240% increase in muscle density, a 180% increase in bone strength, and a significant increase in metabolism..."
"Based on muscle density analysis, it can exert a force of 16.7 tons at full strength."
"Sir, you have surpassed Captain America..."
Tony stood up before he finished listening, feeling the power surge through him.
He picked up a metal wrench and squeezed it gently, causing the hard steel to deform like plasticine.
"Wow." Tony exclaimed softly, his eyes gleaming with excitement. "Xiao wasn't lying, this is indeed version 3.0."
He walked to the center of the laboratory and suddenly accelerated his running speed, almost becoming a blurry shadow in the eyes of ordinary people. Then he easily jumped three meters high and landed steadily on the workbench.
"Sir, your heart rate is a little elevated," Jarvis reminded.
"That's because I'm so excited, Jarvis!" Tony laughed and jumped down. "This feels... incredible!"
But soon, his expression became serious again.
Improved physical fitness is just the beginning, he needs more preparation to deal with the coming storm.
Whether it's from S.H.I.E.L.D., Hydra, or even more dangerous enemies.
"Jarvis, send a message to Xiao." Tony walked towards the armor assembly area, "Tell him...I accepted his gift, and I can't wait to see what the second surprise is."
Outside the window, the night sky of New York was covered with dark clouds, and a storm was brewing.
And in Stark Tower, a brand new Tony Stark is born. He is no longer just a technological genius, but a superhuman in the true sense.
Tony knew that starting tonight, everything would change.
SHIELD, Avengers Project...these once important terms have become less important after Xiao Han appeared.
"With such power and technology..." Tony looked at his clenched fist and whispered to himself, "Maybe we really don't need S.H.I.E.L.D."
Chapter 11 New Mexico
New Mexico
Desert Town
The setting sun dyed the sky blood red, and the dry wind blew up sand and dust, beating against the dilapidated motel.
There was constant quarreling in Jane Foster's makeshift laboratory.
"I said, I'm Thor Odinson! The God of Thunder from Asgard!" The blond burly man slammed the table, anger and unwillingness burning in his eyes.
"I have been banished here, but my power will return!"
"Enough!" Jane rubbed her temples, looking tired.
"I don't know if you're on drugs or have a mental problem, but if you keep talking nonsense like this, I'll have to call the police!"
Daisy Louise's eyes lit up, and she approached Thor excitedly: "You said you are the God of Thunder? The one in Norse mythology? How about..."
Thor clenched his fists, looking anxious: "If Mjolnir were here..."
at this time
boom!
Suddenly, gravel flew outside the house!
A dark figure fell from the sky and landed heavily on the ground.
The dust cleared and Jane and Daisy hurried towards the door.
He was a man wearing a black exoskeleton armor with sharp lines. The golden "S"-shaped emblem on his chest glowed coldly under the dim light.
His face was stern and there was a faint golden light in his eyes.
Thor stood up straight suddenly and stared at the newcomer warily: "Who are you?"
Xiao Han's gaze swept across everyone and finally landed on Thor.
"I believe you." His voice was low. "You are Thor, the god of thunder, son of Odin."
Thor was stunned for a moment, then ecstatic: "Finally! Finally, there's someone in the Midgard who understands!"
Jane's eyes widened. "Wait, are you crazy? How could he possibly…"
Xiao Han ignored her and walked straight towards Thor: "I need you to take me to Asgard."
Thor frowned, "Mortals cannot travel to the divine realm."
"I am not a mortal." Xiao Han said lightly, then grabbed Thor's shoulders.
"Besides, don't you want your hammer back?"
Struggle flashed in Thor's eyes, but it was quickly replaced by desire: "Okay! I'll take you there! But first, I have to find Mjolnir!"
Xiao Han nodded, and the next second
