I'm really not a top magician
Page 31
Because of his good birth, he has a clearer understanding of what a pawn position means.
At the age of fourteen, he will be crowned a king within three years.
If this is the case,
I'm afraid that Aika Sajo will become the youngest crown magician in the Clock Tower.
What a terrifying talent.
"That's impossible." Melvin couldn't help but speak.
But Weber sneered, "Impossible? Have you seen Shajo Aika? If you have, you'll know it's not impossible. And why did the Second Magician accept her as his disciple?"
"The Clock Tower's trend is all about talent and aptitude. Would a disciple like the Second Magician be considered an ordinary person?"
"And yesterday afternoon, that streak of light that seemed to create the universe was seen by everyone in the Clock Tower. Even the monarchs felt ashamed of themselves after seeing it, recognizing Sajo Aika's extraordinary talent. Even if you don't believe others' judgment, the monarch and the Second Magician are not fools."
"Taste it, taste it carefully!"
"Also, don't spread it around, otherwise if Sha Tiao finds out, he'll definitely beat me up."
Weber said this in a very serious tone, the last half of his sentence full of threats and warnings.
Melvin also studied human behavior. At this moment, looking at Weber's expression, he believed it.
but……
Anyway, why do you keep touching my head?
Weber didn't know why he touched Melvin's head.
It’s just that Ai Ge had done the same thing before, pretending to be cool while touching his head, so he followed suit.
"Okay, I have something else to do, so don't spread it around."
After giving a final word of advice, Weber left.
I don't know why, looking at Melvin's expression now,
Weber felt inexplicably happy.
Ah, I feel much better now.
Show off,
That's cool!
After ten minutes,
Melvin came into the classroom. He happily pulled a few classmates over and said excitedly and mysteriously:
"Let me tell you something big!"
"Do you know what rank Sajo Aika is?"
ps: The second volume has begun
ps2: Friendly reminder, some character settings may be different from the original (for example: Leif)
Summary of Volume 1
Let me briefly talk about the summary of the first volume.
I'm not particularly satisfied with the overall writing. The main problem is that I didn't write an outline.
Because I am the kind of person who writes whatever comes to my mind, I didn't write an outline. As a result, I often had trouble grasping the timing of foreshadowing and revealing the foreshadowing. Also, the plot was always poorly set up, and in the end I had to cut out the ending plot.
First up, Luna (the most ooc character throughout). When she first appeared, I defined her as a genius, so I spent a lot of time describing their initial dialogue to highlight her genius. But halfway through the first volume, I suddenly realized a problem: my main character team didn't have a single loser. It's like Saitama's team in One-Punch Man. King was responsible for the comedic moments, Saitama was the finishing punch, and Fubuki was the commentator and the blow. So, the loser parts of the battles had to fall to Genos. It was the same thing here. I hadn't considered the loser role from the beginning, so in the end, Luna had to take on the role of loser. It was unavoidable. If I had written the outline from the beginning, this wouldn't have happened.
The other one is our protagonist, Aika Satiao. I designed Satiao's character from the very beginning: someone who instinctively wants to fight, but is afraid of fighting due to her rationality. This is why when Satiao faces a battle, her first feeling is often not fear, but excitement.
But!!! In the first volume, I didn't set a tolerance limit for such a timid Sha Tiao.
To explain it briefly, when the plot contradictions reach a certain point, Sajo Aika will resolutely withdraw. Because there is no clear tolerance boundary, the protagonist's reactions to various contradictions can be a bit strange and even unreasonable. To quote a friend's book review, "Sajo Aika is too cowardly."
However, my expectation for the protagonist remains unchanged, which is to face his inner self and face it bravely.
At the end of the first volume, although Sajo Aika has indeed drawn the Holy Sword and is indeed known as the Clock Tower genius, her heart is still too weak. Therefore, she is still weak and needs to continue to grow.
And then there's Phareus. This is actually my favorite character. Every time I write about him, I always feel a sense of sacredness. After all, I've already thought of his ending; it's a tragic one. So now I just want to make him as bad as possible, so you can no longer tell he's a tragic character. That's why I ended the first volume with Phareus.
Finally, let me give you a brief spoiler: all the plots in the first volume are paving the way for the second volume.
Chapter 36: Aika Sajo actually entered the root!
Inside the clock tower,
Melvin's words immediately aroused everyone's curiosity.
"Who is Sajo Aika?"
"Is that the Sajo Aika, who is known as the greatest genius in the history of the Clock Tower?"
"She's only fourteen, what rank can she have?"
"What rank? Tell me now! Stop keeping me in suspense!"
All the students started talking, and the topic started by Melvin aroused everyone's curiosity.
"Hey, looking at you guys, no wonder my friends secretly call you idiots."
Melvin made no effort to hide his sarcastic tone.
"Hey, Melvin, what do you mean? Am I wrong? Sajo Aika has been in the Clock Tower for less than a month, and she's still a fourteen-year-old kid. Even if she's incredibly talented, she can only be an opening position at best, right?"
“I feel like there might not even be a spot.”
"That's not necessarily true. You haven't seen the aura of Sajo Aika when she walks. She truly has the word genius written all over her face. I think her rank must be very high."
"Yes, yes, yes. I've never seen a genius walk so elegantly. You're probably yelling here because you're jealous of his talent."
"What rank is it exactly? Didn't all the monarchs of the Clock Tower say that this Sajo Aika is the most talented genius in the history of the Clock Tower? She should be more than just a Kai rank, probably a Priest rank."
"And you guys saw that light the other day, too. Holy shit, it was so cool. If you ask any ordinary magician to do this, they wouldn't be able to pull it off."
Everyone was talking about it, and there were even people who started a bet about it.
"What rank is it? Why don't you tell me quickly? Stop keeping us in suspense!" someone couldn't help but ask.
Seeing everyone's eager expressions, Melvin raised the corners of his mouth slightly. He took a deep breath and said in a low voice:
"I'm telling you, I heard this from my mommy. You must keep it a secret and don't let anyone know. Otherwise, my mommy will definitely come after me, understand?"
Melvin acted very mysterious and serious. He had been asking Weber questions just because he was curious about Aika Satiao's rank, but now his thoughts have changed a little - if everyone in the Clock Tower knew Aika Satiao's rank, what would the rumors say?
When Melvin imagined the scene at that time, he almost couldn't recognize the sound was muted. It was so joyful.
In order to make the news more authentic, he brought out his mother.
"Don't worry, don't worry, we definitely won't tell."
"Don't worry, don't you know who we are?"
"We are the most tight-lipped, please speak quickly!"
Everyone looked indifferent, but each one was more curious than the other.
"Then I told you, that Satiao Aige has broken through to the Classic rank," Melvin said seriously. Although he spat out blood while speaking, it did not lessen the seriousness in his eyes.
"Fuck, Dianwei?"
"True position?"
"Isn't this possible?"
"Impossible! Absolutely impossible!"
"She's only fourteen, and she's already pawning her throne?"
"Who are you lying to?"
"Noriyuki? Sajo Aika is amazing."
"That's what I was saying. No wonder all the monarchs of the Clock Tower call him the Clock Tower's greatest genius. It's not groundless."
The classroom immediately erupted in discussion.
Some people simply don’t believe it and say it’s too exaggerated;
Some people believed it, after all, the words of other monarchs were just one sentence.
Looking at everyone's current expressions, Melvin pinched his thigh hard to keep his expression serious and avoid laughing. He took a deep breath and said seriously:
"Don't believe it? That's why my friend called you idiots."
Melvin mocked directly, and then continued: "Why would I lie to you for no reason? Besides, this is what my mom told me herself, and you answer these questions for me."
"First, the Second Magician is extremely powerful and can travel through various parallel worlds. Such a great figure must have seen countless ways of the world, experienced countless storms, and accepted countless gifted disciples. But why did he accept Sajo Aika as his disciple and even teach him the Second Magic?"
"Secondly, the 12 monarchs of the Clock Tower are incredibly powerful. They say Sajo Aika is the ultimate genius. Is that true?"
"Third, ask those geniuses defeated by Sajo Aika last time. They were all impressed by her. Even if you don't believe the result, you should still believe in their talent. I'm just asking how many people here have high magic skills. Who has the highest level?"
"Finally, all the monarchs of the Clock Tower have confirmed that the streak of light that pierced the sky yesterday was the mark left by Aika Satiao wielding the Holy Sword. Putting aside the question of how many magicians in our Clock Tower are capable of such a miracle, the fact that Aika Satiao was able to retrieve the Holy Sword from the Lake Fairy shows that she is undoubtedly on par with King Arthur. How could a mere magician like you question that?"
"Who is Sajo Aige? She's the most gifted person in history, having reached the rank of a dhyana at the age of fourteen. She's the owner of the Holy Sword and the future King of Britain. She doesn't say anything because she's being modest, afraid that spoiled egomaniacs like you will feel inferior."
"Look at what you're doing now. All you do is slander Sajo Aika all day long, just like ordinary people who haven't seen the world. They probably don't even know what magic is. If you explain magic to them, will they believe you?"
"They absolutely don't believe it, because they don't want to. They only believe what they see, understand, and know. And you don't believe it either. Why? Because you only want to believe in yourselves, only want to believe in the bubble you weave for yourself, and you disdain the reality outside. Weakness and ignorance aren't the magician's greatest weaknesses; arrogance is!"
Melvin vomited fragrantly, and these guys were stunned.
If he hadn't pinched his thigh so hard, he would have laughed out loud.
"That being said, it's true."
"Yes, yes, I heard about the Moon Spirit Marrow Fluid from the people in El-Melloi's classroom a while ago."
"Although Melvin likes to mess around on weekdays, this time it must be serious."
"That must be true, otherwise why would all the monarchs recognize Sajo Aika?"
Everyone believed what Melvin said.
Although some people still had doubts, what Melvin said made sense and they couldn't refute it. Moreover, if they said it casually, they would be laughed at and treated as an idiot by others.
Adapting to the trends and ideas of the public is the way for ordinary people to survive.
"I'm telling you, don't spread this matter. Don't spread it. Otherwise, Mommy will definitely make trouble for me."
After saying this, Melvin looked around at everyone present with great seriousness.
I really hope someone can understand how hard it is for me to hold back my laughter.
"Don't worry, I won't tell anyone."
"Yes, yes, yes, who am I? I must keep my mouth shut."
"Keep your mouth shut, keep your mouth shut."
Everyone nodded and promised not to tell anyone.
Melvin nodded, and finally couldn't help but smile. He glanced around and saw that the person who usually loved to show off suddenly became silent, with an uncomfortable look in his eyes.
Inexplicably, Melvin felt another kind of pleasure.
Ah!
So cool.
After Melvin left the classroom, the other students also left.
Then, a few hours later,
Rumors circulated within the clock tower.
"Have you heard? That Satiao Aige has reached the color level."
"It's absolutely true. I heard this from my father. Please don't say anything nonsense."
"Sajo Aika is the champion, Sajo Aika is the champion!"
"What? You still don't know? You are such a frog in a well!"
"Shocking news, shocking news! Lord El-Melloi said it himself. That Sajo Aika has completely surpassed the former Clock Tower Prodigy. She has already achieved the title of Crown a few days ago."
"What? You're asking me where I got this information? Didn't I tell you it was Lord El-Melloi himself who said it?"
