"Please call Jinx for me, thank you, I will deal with these documents as soon as possible." Nodding, Enoch prepared to continue the repairs.

"Sorry." Enoch looked up at the woman with an awkward smile and said, "Excuse me...who is Jinx? I've been here for less than half a month, and I don't know her...nor have I heard anyone talk about her."

"It's the girl with blue hair who looks lively. Tell her to come quickly. I need her to help me." After saying that, Enoch picked up a screwdriver and tried to fix the prosthesis.

"Do you need my help? I have some industrial knowledge." Tamara did not turn around and leave to look for Jinx. Instead, she took a step forward and looked through the opened metal casing at the screws that Enoch was tightening. "I need a No. 4 wrench, right?"

Hearing this, Enoch stopped and looked Tamara up and down carefully. The woman in front of him looked like a doll that some Piltover people liked to collect, except that Tamara had a thick layer of calluses on her hands and a little black mud between her nails - these were the marks left by frequently holding something and dealing with oily mud.

"I don't quite understand why you are doing this kind of... clerical work here. With your knowledge, you can be a tinkerer." Enoch looked at Tamara skillfully twisting some broken screws with a wrench and asked puzzledly, "Of course, with your looks, you can live well in Piltover."

"Because the salary here is very high." Tamara smiled very brightly - that kind of bright smile should not appear in Zaun

"I have a younger brother who is studying at the Piltover Tech School... the way the Zauns usually do, buying a high-priced school uniform and sneaking in to attend classes, so I have to find a well-paid job. Waiting for repair orders from the Piltovers won't cover the cost of the experiments."

"I think many ladies in Piltover would be happy to sponsor your brother's schooling for your sake." Enoch said with hidden meaning. He not only complimented Tamara's craftsmanship, but also praised her beauty.

"That's another worry." Tamara clearly heard the implied offense in Enoch's words, but she didn't care. She just handed Enoch a pair of suitable tweezers. "My brother has a bright future. Even the dean stopped to admire his design once. So, I think it's best for him to have a decent job."1

"What a surprise! Zaun has such a good reputation and can even provide decent jobs." Enoch raised his eyebrows and almost doubted his ears.

"I took Steiner's advice. He said you had a good reputation when you were in the dance hall." Tamara didn't care. She bent down and lay on the prosthesis that was still connected to Enoch's left arm, carefully separating several tangled wires from the cooling pipe on the side.

"Alright, it's almost done. Let me help you take it down," Tamara said, standing up and preparing to walk around the table to help Enoch finish the work.

"You said let me do it!!" Jinx appeared out of nowhere, and pulled over the chair where Enoch was sitting in an angry manner, blocking Tamara's way forward, and took off Enoch's prosthesis in an annoyed manner.

"Okay, now your work is done, you can go out." Jinx looked up at Tamara angrily, seeing that the damn woman was still winking in Enoch's direction.

"This is Jinx, I was looking for her just now." Enoch coughed lightly and silently patted Jinx's violently heaving back. "I will try to deal with these documents tonight."

"Okay, Mr. Enoch, I'm going to be busy first. Goodbye Jinx, I hope the haze won't enter your house." Tamara still had that sunny smile on her face. She didn't move at all in the face of Jinx's provocation. Instead, she stared at Jinx's wolf cub eyes, nodded, and casually greeted her.

Watching Tamara leave the office, before the door was completely closed, Jinx was already angrily speaking out, her usually sweet and hoarse voice became sharp, "I hate that woman"

Enoch didn't comment. He was about to get up and replace his left arm with a new one, but before he could stand up, Jinx pushed him back onto the chair.

Jinx jumped onto the boy skillfully, and unlike before when she sat astride him, this time she knelt hard on Enoch's legs.

Slender but not thin calves look beautiful, but it is not a pleasant experience to have the shins pressing against the thighs.

Jinx didn't care about Enoch's reaction. She turned Enoch's face and stared at him with her blue eyes.

"Who is she?" Jinx seemed to be roaring in a low voice, her fingers unconsciously placed on Enoch's eyes, and then brushed down across his nose and lips.

"A new person who organizes documents. This is my first time meeting her. I originally wanted you to help me with the disassembly, but I don't know where you went."

"Then you should have waited for me to come back. I just walked around the alley twice. I didn't go anywhere. I just came back and saw you and that woman... Did I come at the wrong time? Do I have to wait outside for half an hour until you are done before coming in?" Jinx felt a little wronged. She had been helping Enoch to protect his arm all the way, but she had just returned to Zaun and a woman suddenly appeared out of nowhere and took away what belonged to her.

Jinx stared at Enoch blankly, feeling Enoch's strokes slowly across her back and neck, then she gently exerted force and leaned her head against Enoch's chest.

"Sorry, next time I will definitely find you first, okay?" Enoch said, taking two necklaces from the cabinet under the office and putting one of them on Jinx with great effort.

He held the other one in front of Jinx. "This is an integrated positioning communicator. From now on, we can always find each other... Do you mind helping me carry it?"

Jinx tied the necklace and while helping Enoch put it around his neck, she slid her hands down and hugged Enoch tightly.

"You're mine, Littlefinger. Listen, you belong to me."

Chapter 516: Prisoner No.

As it should be, the documents piled up on the desk were not all checked and completed by the next morning.

After all, it took quite a while to get Jinx to sit on Enoch's lap instead of kneeling, and it took him most of the night to coax the girl to sleep. Considering the efficiency of a single-handed person, Enoch was already a manifestation of his professionalism to be able to complete one-third of the task.

So the next morning, when Tamara walked in with the briefcase, she looked at Enoch and gestured for him to keep quiet.

Tamara nodded in understanding, quietly put the few pages of documents in her hand aside, picked up the completed documents and prepared to leave. After waiting for a while, she pulled out a file bag without any mark.

"It was hung on the factory gate this morning. There is no signature and we don't know the content. Steiner checked it and found no poison or other reactions." After gently reminding Enoch, Tamara left quietly and closed the door gently.

Glancing at Jinx who was still curled up on him and sleeping soundly, Enoch pushed the document of unknown origin aside. It was not appropriate to open something that might be dangerous now.

"Why is she here again?" Jinx opened her eyes at some point and looked angrily at the closed door and the calculation drawings that Enoch had spread all over the table.

"Because I said I would finish the documents at night, so she will come to pick them up the next morning. I have no interest in her, and you are worrying unnecessarily." He reached out and brushed Jinx's messy hair away from her face after a night of sleep.

“But I can do these things, too.”

"If you can quietly sort out these documents, classify them for me, and then send them to the recipients as soon as possible, I will be very happy and I will be happy to hand them over to you."

“Forget it, I can’t sit still.” Jinx stood up and stretched her back. “Let me help you replace your prosthetic limbs first. Don’t you need to do some...upgrades?”

"Yeah, I can't live without you." Enoch smiled, "After all, I can't operate on myself."

………………

By the time Jinx ran out with the machine gun, it was already afternoon. After moving his new prosthetic limbs to get used to them, Enoch unconsciously looked at the strange file bag.

A very common parchment bag, which can be bought everywhere in Piltover. Researchers there like to produce multi-page papers and then explain them to various families in an attempt to obtain funding.

But it shouldn't appear in Zaun. It's true that this kind of bag is produced in Zaun, but few Zaun people are used to using it.

Thinking of this, Enoch took the respirator from the cabinet behind him and put it on, then carefully picked up the file bag.

To be honest, this thing is so light, it feels like there is nothing inside. Even if you tear a small hole in it, there is no poisonous gas or needles flying out.

I turned the file bag over from the bottom up, and there was nothing inside except a piece of paper which took a long time to slide out.

This is a detention warrant. It looks like a copy of a document from a police station in Piltover. It is a very strange piece of paper. There is no photo of the criminal on it. The height, age, and name column also have "Zuan" scribbled on them.

There is nothing on this detention warrant except the serial number.

"Prisoner No. 516" Enoch stared at the only number that could be considered useful information for a while, then folded the detention order, put it back into the document bag, and locked it tightly in the safe.

It's time to chat with my good friends in the upper city, Enoch thought, pressing the button on his necklace.

"Jinx? Can you hear that?" Enoch frowned when he heard the explosion coming from the other side. Did Jinx destroy the factory again?

"Who's talking? Oh, is that you, Littlefinger? What's wrong? I'm just having fun."

Jinx's voice was a little distorted. Seeing the other party's reaction, Enoch quickly asked, "I'm going to Piltover. Will you come with me?"

"No, I don't like it over there. Go ahead and bring me some crayons. I'll be back in the evening. Bye."

Seeing the call being unilaterally stopped, Enoch shook his head, put on the coat on the hanger, and walked towards Piltover silently.

........................

"…And so Captain Teemo defeated the big monster that jumped out of the bushes. Everyone gathered together to thank the brave captain, and from then on, everyone could live happily again." Enoch closed the storybook in his hand, smiled at the little girl, and put the book neatly back on the bookshelf.

"Tell me another one, I want to hear more." The girl pestered Enoch, happily waving the storybook in her hand. On it, a police officer was scribbled in blue crayon, and there was a child standing next to him. Judging from the hairstyle, it was obviously the painter himself.

"That won't work. If you want to hear more stories, you have to go find your father and act cute in front of him more. It guarantees it will work." Enoch imparted his own personal experience with some ill intentions.

Anyway, that's what Piltover Sheriff Max heard when he opened the door.

He was in a good mood this morning.

It was rare that downtown had been so quiet for a while. Although some factories were occasionally attacked by gang members, the noise was small, at least not like six months ago, when explosions occurred at every turn and attracted everyone's attention.

Just when I was thinking about taking some time to take a vacation after half a year of peace in Lower Zuan, the lower city gave me another blow.

I was sharing this leisurely afternoon tea with my colleagues when a huge pink cloud floated up from near the old port of Zaun in the distance.

This color is so familiar. I have complained to Silko more than once, but Silko always evaded the question by saying that the person who caused the explosion is still useful. I haven't seen him for half a year, and I thought that the madman who caused explosions everywhere must have offended someone and died in a gutter.

Now it seems that not only is he not dead, but the madman who had been quiet for half a year has made a conspicuous move as if he were having a carnival sale.

After sending away the gilded young men and women in the police station, Max took his men for a pretense tour, casually reported a factory accident, and then returned home with great difficulty.

Hearing the sound of stopping in the room, Max silently pulled the safety of his pistol and walked inside step by step.

"Your father seems to be back, go show him your paintings"

"Dad!" the girl cheered, threw herself on Max with her paintings raised high in her hands. The sheriff didn't care about anything else and quickly hugged his daughter behind him, staring at Enoch who was slowly turning out behind him.

"Your daughter is very talented in painting. I suggest you train her in this direction. I mean it." Enoch ignored Max's vigilant attitude and looked down at the little girl. "Now, let me talk to your father alone, okay?"

When the girl jumped back into the bedroom, Max immediately pulled out his gun and pointed it at Enoch's head. "I don't care who you are. I warn you, stay away from my daughter."

"Calm down, man, I mean no harm to you. Considering that I read a picture book to your daughter, you should at least buy me a glass of water." Enoch pulled open the sofa in the living room. "Now, let's talk."

Chapter 64: The Falsified Past

Seeing his daughter go to her room, Max, feeling relieved, immediately pointed his gun at Enoch who was sitting on the sofa.

"I don't think there is any reason to talk to a dangerous person who broke into my house. I am the sheriff of Piltover. You have no respect for me and the law. I have nothing to say to you. You are under arrest."

Enoch raised his right arm slightly, and the mantis knife suddenly jumped out. A red light flashed, and the barrel fell to the ground with a clang. Only the handle was left in Max's hand.

"Calm down, Sheriff. I respect you very much. You should know that I did not 'break into' your house. I rang the doorbell very politely. It was your daughter who invited me in, so I don't think you need to be so wary of me.

Are you afraid that your daughter will get hurt? I understand you. I have a similar child at home and I am also worried about her safety, so I have no objection to you sending her away. "

Seeing Max's increasingly rapid breathing, Enoch smiled, picked up the crystal wine bottle beside him, and poured a glass for himself and Max. "Now, can you talk to me? I think since you can talk to Hilco, I can be your friend."

"Who are you? How did you know about Hilco?" Resigned to his fate, Max threw the broken pistol aside and took a big gulp of the wine glass that was handed to him.

"Ah, to paraphrase... I'm your friend from the downtown area, so I know some of your little secrets. You don't need to worry about them now." Looking at the empty wine glass, Enoch happily helped Max refill it.

"Did Hilco ask you to come?" Max looked very embarrassed.

"I only represent myself. I came here to talk to you. I have no intention of hurting you, let alone your daughter. I think I have expressed this point of view through my words and actions." Enoch swirled the wine in the glass and frowned at the slightly pungent smell.

Putting the unfinished cup back on the table, Enoch continued speaking, "After all, children are the treasures of this world. We shouldn't hurt them, right?"

Max nodded hesitantly. He had no idea what this man was trying to do.

"But I also want to hear that a few years ago, someone dragged an underage girl away from her father who had just died, put her in prison, and tampered with the detention order... I think this is really a very bad behavior. Have you heard of it?"

Max was about to retort when suddenly his throat seemed to get stuck, cold sweat ran down his forehead, and his breathing became heavier.

"It seems that I guessed right, so, can you help me?" Enoch looked at the embarrassed sheriff in front of him and already had the answer in his mind.

Max took a few breaths. "I had no choice. Fandel had been killed. If I left the girl there, she would have been killed by Hilco. I panicked and took her away. If I hadn't changed her imprisonment time and name, she would have been found and killed by Hilco. In the past few years, someone in the lower city has been looking for her and another boy. Did you know that?"

"I know," Enoch said softly, "I sent someone to look for them. She is my friend and I want her... I remember it was prisoner No. 516, right? I want you to give her to me and I will give you a satisfactory reward."

"No, there's nothing I can do. Your friend is too active in prison. She has escaped multiple times and has been put in the serious criminal ward. I don't have the authority to release her unless there is an amnesty order," Max shook his head slowly.

"I see. Thank you for your explanation." Enoch stood up and straightened his clothes. "By the way, besides you, does anyone else know about the tampering of the detention order?"

"No, I did all the procedures by myself, no one else could know about it." At this point, Max reacted, "How did you know about this?"

Enoch didn't answer, but put on his coat and walked out the door. "Go and see your daughter's paintings. I really think she has talent in this area. Also, you owe her two bedtime stories tonight."

Aimlessly circling Piltover's Star Avenue, benefiting from his obvious high-tech prosthetics and brand new uniform, the Enforcers just thought Enoch was a researcher with nothing to do. No one came up to bother him.

Enoch sat down in a random roadside cafe, staring intently at the white mist coming out of the underground pipes.

Obviously, the bluff just now was very effective. There was basically no coercion or inducement. Max just said it all out of his mind, helping Enoch complete the last piece of the puzzle.

No wonder he couldn't find Wei. If the keywords were wrong, it would be a waste of effort. But even if he found Wei's whereabouts, Enoch still couldn't be happy.

He felt like he was caught in a whirlpool. The strangely appearing document bag, the person involved who swore that nothing would go wrong... No matter who it was or what the purpose was, Enoch had to be more careful next time.

Putting a few gold hexes on the tray, Enoch prepared to go back and take some precautions, but before that... where did Jinx buy her usual crayons?

..............................

"You don't know, that gang's thugs just rushed over with a stick. They are definitely the worst gang. The others are either holding knives or using shimmer... I've even seen thugs holding the rifles you produce..."

Jinx came back earlier than Enoch, and was now scribbling on the food on the plate in front of her, making a mess.

Enoch responded with some "hmm" and "ah" sounds. He was still thinking about which old friend he should send an email to later.

"Are you listening?" Jinx suddenly stood up and grabbed Enoch's arm. She found that Enoch had been a little absent-minded since he came back.

"Sorry, I'm having a problem right now." Enoch and Jinx touched their foreheads lightly. "I'm preparing a gift for you, a surprise, but it's a little... how should I put it, very complicated and not easy to handle."

"Is this my coming-of-age present? You're so thoughtful." Jinx rubbed Enoch's face happily, but didn't ask any further questions and continued to argue with the chopped dinner on the plate.

"Don't you want to ask what it is?"

"No, Little Finger, let's fill our lives with surprises. This is the key to cultivating interest... I saw a book saying this. Wait, I will prepare a gift for you too."
