Chapter 669: Axis Force (Part 2): Red Deer and Horse Manure
Compared with the inactive army in China, the Japanese Navy and the Southern Army, which were on the front line of the war against the United States, were somewhat proactive and enterprising, whether passively or actively.
Unlike the history of the original time and space, in the Battle of Rennell Island in early May, the UN severely damaged the US 5th Fleet at the cost of Shokaku being damaged, sank the aircraft carrier "Yorktown", and severely damaged "Saratoga", forcing it to return to port for repairs.
Later, the army landing force that was originally preparing to launch the "TMO" operation against Port Moresby, under the planning of Kuribayashi Tadamichi, turned to landing and fighting along the coast of the Solomon Islands, successively conquered many places, and occupied the US military airports on the islands one by one, forming a "Solomon Chain" with the capture of Milne (Samarai), Kokoda, Buna, Lae, Rabaul, Munda and Buin land airports as the core.
If we use this string of airports as the core and station fighter jets and surface attack aircraft, we can successfully control the skies and seas of the entire Solomon Sea!
The navy immediately began withdrawing its own land-based air forces from the mainland to station at these airfields for air control, and also transferred several air units equipped with the "Type 6 Land Attack" aircraft carriers. With the newly rotated-in aircraft carriers Akagi, Kaga, Hiyo, Hayabusa, and Zuiho, as well as the remaining Shoho, the Japanese forces in the South Pacific expanded the number of their main aircraft carriers to six.
They then went on to launch an offensive against Port Moresby.
The U.S. military, which had detected the movements of the Japanese army but had not yet fully determined the deployment of its forces, naturally could not allow the Japanese army to attack the last "bastion of freedom" on the Papua Peninsula. The U.S. commander Aubrey Fitch commanded the Enterprise, Hornet, and Lexington aircraft carriers in the 38th Task Force, and brought their respective escort ships to attack the Japanese formation that was heading for landing.
A fierce battle broke out between the two sides in the waters near the Louisiade Islands.
The Japanese, with their airfield chain, had a significant advantage over the Americans in reconnaissance and launched the offensive first. After repeated probing, reconnaissance, and navigation, the Japanese, seizing the opportunity, unleashed a massive attack wave against the US fleet. Light carriers like the "Shuang Feng" were placed in the vanguard, acting as direct guard and security.
In short, they were needed to "take the blame" for the four regular aircraft carriers of the First and Second Carrier Groups in the formation.
This strategy was brutal, but also quite effective. The US carrier-based aircraft carriers, launching their attack wave later, suffered from poor coordination between their carrier-based aircraft carriers and launched multiple attacks against the vanguard fleet of two light carriers. The fortunate Shoho maintained its usual luck, evading multiple torpedoes at wide angles after being hit by one, with the only one hitting her being a dud. Meanwhile, Zuiho was under siege by the US forces, and after being hit by multiple torpedoes and bombs, she suffered a severe list and was forced to abandon ship.
On the other side, the Japanese ships' attack waves enveloped the three US battleships earlier.
The Yorktown-class ship's poor boiler and engine layout caused the Hornet to lose all power after being hit by two torpedoes without taking on a large amount of water, and was paralyzed on the sea; the Enterprise, which had not yet become a legend, was hit by a .25 shell on the deck, igniting a fire; the Lexington was hit by a torpedo and suffered damage below the waterline.
Fortunately, the American ships had excellent damage control. Except for the Hornet, which had only recovered a small amount of power due to boiler damage, before the second wave of Japanese air raids arrived, the Enterprise and the Nickington had solved the problems of fire and flooding, resumed aviation operations, and launched the "Final Ripple".
Finally, the second wave of Japanese air raids destroyed the slow-moving "Hornet" and hit Lexington and Enterprise again, but because all the torpedoes dropped by the torpedo planes were fortunately avoided, the two burning ships were able to hide in the night and escape from the battlefield.
The second wave of US attacks successfully located the Japanese rear-end carrier formation and successfully damaged the "Kaga" and "Hayako," causing minor damage to both. During the attack, to avoid the dive attack of the "Enterprise" attack formation, the carrier "Hayako" reached full speed and made continuous wide-angle evasive maneuvers. Although it was hit by only a few bombs and torpedoes, a defective boiler caused a massive explosion in the power compartment, paralyzing half of the power units. Fortunately, the American aircraft had basically exhausted their ammunition by this time and could only depart in disappointment.
After Japan secured victory in the battle, sinking one light carrier, damaging another, and slightly damaging two regular carriers, in exchange for the sinking of one and damaging two American aircraft carriers, the long-planned "TMO" operation finally went forward. Due to Port Moresby's unique terrain, surrounded by mountains and coral reefs, only a few navigational channels existed outside the seemingly vast harbor. These channels were heavily mined by the US military (though some, unbeknownst to the Japanese, had been safe passages). This made it virtually impossible for the Japanese to penetrate the harbor and launch a direct bombardment. Therefore, the Japanese used large boats and "transport ships" converted from old destroyers to transport over 3,000 members of the Kawaguchi Detachment onto the northwest beach of Port Moresby, thus initiating the landing operation.
According to the Japanese army's reconnaissance before the battle, there was only about one Australian army regiment in Port Mo, and the enemy's strength was three to one. Moreover, the armies of Macau and the United States were all cowardly young soldiers, and were no match for our imperial soldiers. The outcome of this battle was obviously no surprise.
But what happened next was beyond the Japanese's expectations.
Since the defeat at the Battle of Rennell Island, the US military has been heavily transporting supplies and troops to Port Mogatau via a combination of sea and air transport. Now, this small South Pacific port has gathered an Australian brigade and a regiment of the US Army's 32nd Division, totaling over 7,000 troops, fully equipped with artillery and tanks, far exceeding the attack limit of the Japanese landing force. Continuously updating q@q@group@book@collection@81317*5933
The war situation quickly reached a stalemate and was sliding even faster towards a situation of "adding fuel to the fire".
Under this situation, the Allies' powerful industrial capabilities began to play a rapid role.
As if by magic, the U.S. military built several field airfields in northern Australia, which was quite desolate two months ago. Under the cover of fighter jets, a large number of transport planes began to carry out air transport to the defenders in Port Moresby.
Although the Japanese aircraft carriers responsible for providing direct cover shot down more than double-digit aircraft and created several aces, it was a crime to let the aircraft carriers compete with land-based airports in aircraft sortie rates and maintenance capabilities. After a few days, as the aircraft serviceability rate plummeted, the pilots of the aviation corps were quickly "squeezed" dry and fell into a semi-paralyzed state.
At the same time, the Enterprise, which was previously "badly defeated" in the battle report, made a comeback - she had obviously restored her deck operation capabilities, and by sailing at night, taking off in the early morning, and returning in the early morning, she used the intelligence of observers on the island to raid the Japanese logistics ship that was circling the Louisiade Islands, and quickly escaped after the success, making it impossible for the Japanese to catch up.
The Japanese aircraft carriers could not maintain a blockade around Port Moresby forever, and the Combined Fleet could not maintain a strong presence in the Coral Sea. It was foreseeable that once the fleet withdrew, even if the Japanese had gained air superiority over the area, the US military would rely on bases in Australia and the South Pacific to break through the blockade under cover of darkness and resupply the Port Moresby defenders.
For a moment, the Japanese, who were originally in an offensive posture and seemed to have the advantage, suddenly found themselves in a dilemma and an awkward situation.
If they wanted to withdraw, it would be easy. The US and Australian forces at that time lacked the ability to launch an offensive, while the Kawaguchi Detachment was still mobile and well-organized. After loading the ship, they could retreat smoothly. However, if they wanted to attack, the Japanese army would not only need to maintain a long sea voyage and continuous landings to maintain the supply of the combat troops, but also need to continuously suppress the US air force at the airports in northern Australia and repeatedly dispatch to intercept the US fleet transporting supplies to Port Moresby.
What to do next?
all
"There is no option for retreat. We must continue the attack. The Haotun and Mili are already a candle in the wind. How can the soldiers of the Imperial Kingdom retreat at this time?!"
General Haruyoshi Hyakutake of the 17th Army, commander of Operation MO, spitted and roared in front of Colonel Masanobu Takashi, the representative of the Imperial Headquarters. He glanced at Masanobu Takashi, who looked completely indifferent, and at the trembling staff, took a deep breath, and then turned to the staff and ordered: "Go tell Kuribayashi-kun that the retreat plan is not allowed.
"He should use his wits and contact the Navy to get supplies for our troops—and he must tell the Navy, 'You've just landed our troops and you're thinking of running away? ' 'You're dreaming! If their poor supply leads to the failure of the operation, the Army will not let them off!"
"Hey!" The staff officer put his legs together, stood at attention and bowed.
"Also, the Kokoda Trail newly discovered by the Nanhai Detachment is very important. Let Kuribayashi make good use of this road and send people over Owen Stanley Ridge as soon as possible.
Support the Kawaguchi Detachment's operations!"
Harukichi Momotake placed his hands behind his back and gazed at the map of Port Moresby posted on the wall. He focused his gaze on the winding, dotted path and, with decisive determination, issued the order that would create the longest and bloodiest battle of the Pacific War, the "Iron Bottom and Aluminum Sea."
"It's just a small hill like Nantai. Look at us, the soldiers of the Imperial Army, turn it over and show it to those pigs and rice-eaters in Hao!"
Chapter 670: Axis Force (Part 2) Aluminum Sea Eagle
In this era without the M1 operation, the battle for Port Moresby, the last "fortress" on the Papua Peninsula, began in 1942 and lasted until the second half of 1943, when the Japanese army and the US army were both defeated in the strategic decisive battle.
For about a year and a half, Japanese, American, and Australian forces engaged in repeated battles in the waters south of the Louisiade Islands, north of Australia, and along the western edge of the Coral Sea. The US attempted to use airlift to drop supplies to the defenders of Port Moray, and deployed small, high-speed craft from Australia to penetrate the waters of Port Moray to transport troops and relieve the wounded. Meanwhile, the Japanese, while simultaneously providing supplies and support to the besieging forces, attacked via narrow paths through the mountains and valleys, engaged in a game of hide-and-seek with small US units in the air and on the sea, and engaged in interception operations in the darkness and rough seas.
Here, both sides repeatedly triumphed and failed, constantly shedding blood amidst roars and howls. Pale bones, dark steel, and silver aluminum were densely packed across thousands of square kilometers of sea and land, as if the entire ocean was obscured by them. This was the bloodiest meat grinder of the Pacific battlefield in this time and space.
"Road of bones, sea of iron, ocean of aluminum sheets."
The harsh battlefield environment and urgent frontline demands finally forced the conservative Japanese army to move forward. They had no choice but to delegate the new requirements to the research and development institutions of several chaebols, and adjust the development of weapons and equipment according to the actual battlefield environment and needs.
The first to take action was not the navy, but the Japanese army.
The Japanese army was already mired in the war in China, and the strange unspoken rules of the Japanese prevented any discerning person from pointing out the fact that the war against China would be a loss and it would be better to retreat. At the same time, the rich results and gains from the Nanyang campaign made all the participating army members celebrate and their enthusiasm was maximized.
At this time, the Navy, which controlled the "Solomon's Chain M Airport Group", had no choice but to "lower its head and humbly ask for help from the Army, and with a deep understanding of justice and reason", transfer some occupied US military airports to the Army for management, hoping that the Army could help it gain air superiority in the South Pacific and participate in the process of intercepting US surface ships and air forces.
The Army, constantly mocked and robbed of its budget by the Navy for its defeat in the China War, laughed heartily, feeling they had finally turned the tables. They seized the opportunity to mock the Navy before beginning to mobilize their aircraft. The still-cutting-edge "Hayabusa" and "Jungdo" single-engine fighters, the "Type 99 Attack" and "Type 99 Double Light Bomb" capable of dive attacks, and the longer-range "Dragon Slayer" were back in action.
Even some of the "hundred-style reconnaissance" prepared for long-range reconnaissance began to be assembled.
Come, transfer to Southeast Asia, and fill the newly acquired airfields of the army.
The army even mobilized some advanced "Type 100 heavy bombers" to prepare for the bombing of Port Moresby.
At the same time, the Imperial Army, which had been practically squeezed dry in China, also tried hard to squeeze out some resources from its teeth to increase the production capacity of the "Falcon" and "Zhongdao", and to speed up the testing and improvement of the cutting-edge "Feiyan" fighter, striving to use the new aircraft in 1943.
Although the IJA's air force had little training in anti-ship attacks, they didn't seem to mind: there's always a first time for everything! Wouldn't they become familiar with it after a few rounds?
Whether in North China or on the mainland, the pilots of the Army Aviation Corporation enthusiastically requested to go to the Southeast Asia to fight, as if the ocean that would be covered with aluminum sheets in the future was now just a happy hunting ground.
-―--—-—-
If the army is so active, let alone the IJN, the main force fighting in Southeast Asia.
Due to the continuous setbacks suffered by the army in this time and space, and the objective reduction in the consumption of "special war expenses" due to the annihilation of many units, the navy has had an advantage in the annual allocation of military expenditures since 1938. This has also caused the shipbuilding and aircraft manufacturing plans of the UN in this time and space to deviate to a certain extent from those in the original time and space.
Therefore, after capturing the "Solomon Chain" land airport group, the Japanese Navy quickly realized that they not only needed the Type 2 large boat or reconnaissance aircraft like the Army's Type 100 Siren, but also sea attack aircraft like the Type 1 Land Attack. At the same time, in order to ensure the operation of reconnaissance aircraft and attack aircraft, the UJN also needed a "local warfare" aircraft that could take off from land airports, climb quickly, and intercept US transport aircraft and bombers to compete for air supremacy around Mo Port and even around the Solomon Airport Chain.
This mission was clearly beyond the capabilities of carrier-based aircraft. Even though the Zero fighters of this time and space had already been strengthened and upgraded based on experience gained in combat against the Eighth Route Army in China, reaching the combat level of the original time and space's 'Type 52' through enhanced skin and structure at the "Type 32" stage, their performance was highly advanced. However, carrier-based aircraft still had to make compromises in order to be deployed on ships. Even if the Zero fighters were deployed from land-based airfields, they would still struggle to fully achieve their localized interception and sniping capabilities.
UJN hurriedly searched their pockets, increased their investment, and sent Nakajima Company to continue to promote the development of the "Seventeenth Test Ship Reconnaissance" reconnaissance aircraft, requiring them to develop a ship-borne type while transforming a land-based type. At the same time, they came to Mitsubishi Corporation, allocated more resources, and asked them to speed up the "Fourteenth Test Local Warfare" project.
The reason was simple: the Navy's current best local combat aircraft was this slightly overweight aircraft. While many veteran Navy pilots disliked it, and the Mitsubishi production technology was only so-so, there was no choice! Furthermore, the 14th-tested local combat aircraft's climb, speed, and firepower were not bad.
At this point, the "14th Test Local Battle" had not yet earned the title "Thunderbolt," but the resonance issues caused by the engine drive shaft had been largely resolved. Takahashi Norijiro, who succeeded Jiro Horikoshi, was focusing on addressing issues with the aircraft's oil system overheating and poor visibility. He also stepped up prototype production and flight testing to address potential design flaws that hadn't been discovered.
Considering that the Mars engine used in the 14th test local battle, although large and fat, and with relatively low horsepower, was mature in design and stable in performance, it was different from the "Yu" engine, which required regular use of afterburner jets to reach its rated output. Therefore, after increasing investment in the production of more prototypes and improving the living rations for the aircraft design and manufacturing team, Mitsubishi assured the Navy that it could complete the finalization and mass production of this fighter in the first half of Showa 18.
"They say only empty bottles make the loudest noises. Mitsubishi is patting its chests so loudly, but can it actually produce an aircraft?" Several technical bureaucrats from the Naval Aviation Technical Headquarters had just left Mitsubishi and were driving to the naval headquarters. Along the way, they chatted about their experiences that day.
"I privately asked their technicians and learned that the prototype of the 'Fourteenth Test' recently crashed again."
"Crashes during the prototype phase are common... Even if Mitsubishi can't produce an aircraft, we don't have any other choice, right? We can't use Zero fighters for land combat." "It seems that using Zero fighters is not impossible..."
"Let's not talk about that for now. The reports from the front line say that the Americans are actually sending planes at night. Do we need to research radio reconnaissance?"
Several bureaucrats discussed their situation anxiously. It was lunchtime when they returned to the office, so they decided to go to the cafeteria. As they entered, they saw several people gathered around a table, devouring a bowl of mullet rice.
These men weren't wearing navy uniforms, just plain shirts. Their locked leather bags were casually placed on the ground, held between their feet. Before them lay a mountain of mullet rice and several plates of steamed buns. Although they were eating with extreme restraint, no amount of "restraint" could conceal their starving appearances.
"Hey, you guys, stop gathering here!"
The technocrat in charge of aircraft management recognized the leader of the group: Shizuo Kikuhara, a designer from Kawanishi Company. He reprimanded them and sent away the sailors and civilian staff who were gathered around. They also ordered mullet rice and some side dishes, sat down next to the Kawanishi company people, and waited for them to finish their meal.
As fellow technicians, the navy men felt a little sympathetic when they saw that the other party looked like he hadn't had a good meal since the Tianchang Festival.
Finally, after devouring two bowls of kunyu rice, four plates of seaweed, six servings of steamed buns, and finishing off all the pickled radish in the restaurant, the Kawanishi company staff finally ate their fill. The team leader, Shizuo Kikuhara, stood up and, diligently observing etiquette, greeted the officers and lieutenants. He then unrolled a roll of blueprints from his briefcase and pulled out a small wooden model.
"Sir, please allow me, on behalf of Sichuan West Company, to introduce the progress of our local fighter test production.
"Currently, we've begun production of the prototype of the No. 1 Local Battleship, a modification of the No. 15 Trial Battleship. Recently, we've received your request to expedite development. After careful consideration..." Kikuhara Shizuo, seemingly having gone through a mental struggle, gritted his teeth before speaking these words, "Could you allow Kawanishi Company to suspend the trial production of the No. 15 Trial Battleship and shift all of its efforts to the development of the No. 1 Local Battleship?"
Chapter 671: Alliances (1) Harrisburg Conference
World War II was a war between the fascist and anti-fascist camps, a battle between the Allies and the Axis powers. This largest war in human history spanned the world and several continents, exceeding the definition of a "two-country war" by any definition.
Therefore, when the Eighth Route Army stood up in the mountains of northern China and took a step towards a brand new and vast world, it was bound to be influenced by the world while influencing the world - just like what Nietzsche said, "When you gaze too long into the abyss, the abyss gazes back at you."
But retreating at the critical moment and wanting to retreat to a comfortable and independent cave to protect oneself was not what the enterprising leaders of the Chinese Communist Party wanted at this time: since the stage has been prepared for you and performing on stage is inevitable, you might as well put aside your shyness and thoughts and stand on the stage openly.
In June 1942, representatives from the Chinese Communist Party, the United Kingdom, the Soviet Union, and the United States, the host country, gathered in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, the capital of the United States. Although the representatives attending the conference were not the supreme leaders of the major warring countries/powers,
This purely consultative meeting was still of a very high level—after all, of the five permanent members of the original time and space, three and a half were present!
As for the remaining "one and a half...", forget it, let's not talk about it.
"First, I have been authorized to inform all parties present at the meeting of the latest intelligence on the Indian Ocean and the Soviet-German War."
Because this was not a purely theoretical meeting, the entire meeting entered directly into a formal discussion. The British representative, Ambassador Robert Craigie, first received some documents from the Soviet representative, Senior Counselor to the US, Andrei Gromyko. He combined them with his own documents and distributed them to the Chinese Communist Party representatives and the US representative, Undersecretary of State Sumner Wells.
The Chinese Communist Party also shared some information about the domestic battlefield and intelligence on Japan.
This was a ministerial-level meeting, and everyone, including the CCP representative Dong Xiancong, brought their own staff and advisors, allowing for group discussions. After receiving the British and Soviet data, Dong Xiancong, the CCP representative and head of the US delegation, began analyzing it with his acting political commissar, who held both diplomatic and military positions, and several staff members.
The document was written in both English and Russian, with some key sections thoughtfully translated into Chinese—a remarkably accurate and accurate translation that clearly required considerable effort. "Are the Germans planning to launch 'Groles blaues'... Operation Grand Blue, a massive offensive on the southern front of the Eastern Front?"
"Germany, Italy, and Japan held a meeting in Berlin to discuss Japan sending its navy into the Indian Ocean to attack British ports, bases, and shipping routes?"
These two pieces of information were not particularly surprising to Dong Xiancong, who had the authority to read File No. O. This was because, in the original time and space, this was basically the time when the German Nazis launched "Operation Blue" and when Japan, at the request of Germany and Italy, marched into the Indian Ocean and launched "Operation B".
Needless to say, "Blue Plan" aimed to break through the situation on the Eastern Front, completely destroy the Soviet Southern Front Group, horizontally cut off the Soviet southern territory, and seize the Caucasus oil fields. This campaign ultimately led to the Battle of Stalingrad, a key turning point in the Soviet-German War. The German Army Group B, led by Paulus, was surrounded by the Soviets and ultimately surrendered, marking the official transition of the German army from a strategic offensive to a strategic defensive.
During this period, the strategic objectives of "Big Blue" and "Blue Plan" were essentially the same. However, based on data provided by the British, who deciphered German telegrams under "top secret" conditions, and by the Soviets, who gathered data through guerrillas and intelligence agents, the German army withdrew more troops and vassal states than in history, resulting in a certain reduction in troop strength on both the northern and central fronts.
Both Britain and the Soviet Union judged that perhaps because the Crimea region was still in the hands of the Soviet army, the German army might intend to turn south quickly after destroying the Soviet troops along the Donets River. In addition to capturing Kharkov, Rostov and Karachi, they would also attack the Kuban area to cut off the Soviet army's connection with the mainland on the Crimean Peninsula, attack from both sides, and destroy the Soviet troops stationed on the peninsula. All of this was probably for the purpose of controlling the area south of the Don-Volga River and completely cutting off and occupying the Soviet Union's southern territory.
All in all, this will probably be a "Blue" battle that is larger and more intense than any in history. And another set of intelligence is aimed at the Japanese.
According to British surveillance and intelligence gathering, the Japanese Navy's "Zuihe" aircraft carrier did not follow the injured sister ship "Shokaku" back to the mainland for repairs.
Instead, it passed through the Strait of Malacca, and after resupplying in Singapore, it sailed into the Indian Ocean.
The "Feiryu" and "Canglong" will meet, and it is very likely that a major operation will be carried out.
The Soviet Union was behind this intelligence. According to the intelligence of the intelligence system, just one month ago, the Axis Military Committee of Germany, Italy and Japan held a meeting in Berlin. Mussolini personally took action, together with the German diplomatic system, to persuade Vice Admiral Naokuni Nomura, the Japanese representative to the committee, to "cooperate" with the German Navy to enter the Indian Ocean and launch a stranglehold operation against the British Navy.
The intelligence also clearly records that Bald Old Mo worked hard to persuade the Japanese, saying that fighting in the Indian Ocean could not only help the allies cut off the evil Chi Lu's supply route from the Indian Ocean, but also prevent the Chinese army that was wreaking havoc on the mainland from obtaining foreign aid through the Iranian channel. It was a great thing that would benefit all Axis families.
The intelligence report was so detailed that it seemed as if the intelligence officer were present at the meeting. Based on his description, Vice Admiral Naokuni Nomura was clearly intrigued. He immediately stated that he would report the matter to the National Headquarters and instruct them to issue orders to the Navy to cooperate with the German and Italian operations in North Africa.
This "action" is Plan B that appears in historical documents and the deciphered telegrams of the Eighth Route Army.
-——--——-
However, regardless of whether the Germans had the strength to break through the Soviet defenses while holding their flanks and taking the Crimean Peninsula, and regardless of whether the Japanese Navy would fully cooperate with the German Navy and attack the British, Dong Xiancong always had a question in his mind.
Why didn't they discuss this at the Allied Joint Chiefs of Staff meeting, but instead pulled us out for a separate meeting? To put it bluntly...what does this have to do with us, the Eighth Route Army?
On the Soviet-German front, while the Eighth Route Army maintained close ties with the Soviet Union, their role was merely to transport supplies and help alleviate the Soviet army's logistical pressure. Regarding the Indian Ocean, while the Iranian route was indeed the Eighth Route Army's primary channel for obtaining foreign aid, it currently lacked any naval forces capable of intervening in the Indian Ocean. They wouldn't let the Pandaria Company's "fishing fleet" engage in a head-on battle with Japanese aircraft carriers, would they?
That squadron, "after all, is a commercial fleet under the China Resources system. Although Xiao Liu maintains it to train qualified crew members and captains for A Bie, it is nominally "a good friend's stuff" rather than "his own stuff."
The Americans at the meeting were obviously the hosts and companions. What did the Soviet Union and Britain...especially the British, want to do? Dong Xiancong, who had been committed to the revolutionary path since the Tongmenghui era, was thinking about it. While summarizing the situation into a telegram and sending it back to the Central Committee for reporting, he packed up his things and prepared to rush to the main venue after the group discussions were over.
His question was soon answered.
In this non-public and pragmatic meeting, the rhetoric and wrangling common in diplomatic occasions were greatly reduced, and all participants began to become more frank, direct, or even "naked."
"Mr. Davarishi, on behalf of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics and in the name of joint Allied action, I would like to make a proposal to Mr. Davarishi of China," said Andrei Andreyevich Gromyko, the senior counselor of the Soviet Union in the United States, sincerely.
"Mr. Dong, please allow me to make suggestions to you on behalf of His Majesty the King and the Prime Minister within the framework of the Alliance," said Robert Craig, the British ambassador to the United States, in his Oxford-style English.
..participate in the construction of the Allied Reserve Combat Corps targeting the North Caucasus region. We hope that China can further expand its military scale and send troops abroad to Iran as soon as possible to jointly protect international transportation lines and play an important role in preventing the war situation from further deteriorating.
…participate in the BCATP program, establish air combat capabilities within the Allied framework, and participate in the Allied war against the Axis powers, especially Japan.”
