Crunch
Doudou's head didn't tilt at all, but the tip of his shoe, which was used to stabilize himself, plowed a short mark of more than ten centimeters to the side with a strange sound.
"Wow!"
He grasped the leg bone that had hit his temple with his five fingers and looked at the mess in the corridor; his eyes were about to shine:
"Kicks corpses!"
Chapter 74 Noose
The touch in his hand proved that the other party did not have transparent flesh and blood: smooth and slightly cool, but not as cold as metal; bones did not conduct heat as quickly as flesh.
Supernatural! This is so supernatural—
The goods are genuine, unlike the fat guy in the electronics city who overeats and looks like he has been mutated by a biochemical virus: this is the real monster in front of us!
Doudou's heart was pounding, his cheeks flushed with excitement. With his left hand still gripping the slippery shin bone, he pulled it back, bringing the skull in front of him.
Then he raised his right fist and gently hammered it down:
boom!
A cloud of white mist suddenly erupted from the skull's sternum and ribs. It was the bone fragments smashed into pieces by the fist, scattering in all directions.
boom!
Then there was a bang from the metal floor directly beneath the skeletal body; something was hammered into it, creating a deep crater.
When the smoke and dust cleared, a small spine was revealed in the center of the pit.
Doudou's fist smashed the bony chest and ribs into powder: the spine seemed to be harder, and it smashed a small crater in the corridor.
With this encounter, the skull was broken into two pieces.
"Forehead"
Doudou's hand passed through the white mist of bone fragments and grasped the skull in his palm. It was silent, but the wires wrapped around the cervical vertebrae vibrated and hummed endlessly.
Doudou's enthusiasm, which had suddenly risen, cooled down again, and he even felt a little uneasy - as if he had just received the toy and accidentally broke it.
"Ah, so fragile?"
Most of the long skirt that was originally wrapped around the skeleton was blown into pieces along with the sternum and ribs, leaving only strands on the shoulders and collarbones.
Now Doudou was holding the upper and lower halves of the skeleton in his hands, like two strings of wind chimes, making clanging sounds.
Doudou looked around awkwardly, then tossed the torso and leg bones aside, feeling annoyed at having broken something.
"No, I thought that those who appeared last were the most powerful."
The lower half of the skeleton flew out like a cannonball, sending a pile of scattered printed paper floating in the office.
Just as Doudou was holding the skull carefully, not knowing what to do:
buzzing
The skeleton remained motionless, but the wire noose around its neck kept lengthening.
Honk! Honk! Honk! Honk!
The wires were no longer attached to the surface of the corridor, but were directly chiseled into the metal floor, passed through the plaster ceiling, and drilled into the concrete wall; these hard materials did not cause any obstruction to the wires, but only made a sharp sound.
In a blink of an eye, these colorful electric wires were woven into a net like a flower rope, perpendicular to the ground, stretching across the other end of the corridor.
The noose of wire slid and slid, and the net shrank and pulled at everything it held:
Gaga, Gaga
The metal floor through which the noose passed was deformed and twisted by the pull of the electric wires, and was bent upwards; the ceiling was collapsed by the pull of the electric wires, and sparks and dust were emitted from the ceiling lamp.
The noose is shortening, and the corridor is "collapsed" towards the center as it is pulled.
Crunch, crunch, crunch--
Bang bang bang bang!
It was as if an invisible giant hand was squeezing and flattening the corridor from back to front, like a mineral water bottle.
The ceiling lights exploded and went out one by one; the darkness narrowed along the corridor, spreading from the far end, from far to near, like a scene from a horror movie.
The corridor is becoming narrower and tighter, everything is moving towards the center and colliding, trying to squeeze everything in the corridor.
"What are you doing? This dark thing."
Doudou looked at the corridor in front of him that was constantly "shrinking", and then looked at the skull in his hand; he couldn't help but open his eyes wide: although he could see things at night, the scene in front of him was too similar to that of a horror movie, so much so that even he felt a little guilty.
He took a step back.
As if understanding what Doudou said, the intestinal contraction in the corridor stopped abruptly: everything fell into silence again.
Doudou's foot, just lifted, was suspended in mid-air, and for a moment he didn't know whether to put it down. He squinted his eyes, staring at the dark mass in front of him; in this mess of ruins, something seemed to be twisting -
呲!
A bright point of light, with a shriek that tore through the air, pierced through the dark corridor—
"Oh, that's scary."
Doudou raised his hand and just held the tip of the wire in front of his face: the bright light was the copper wire that had penetrated the rubber and was twisted outside.
The air current blew Doudou's hair; the speed of this wire was even faster than a bullet. Judging by its hardness, it could probably dig into the alloy plate.
"Why would they try to divert attention and launch a surprise attack? What a weird thing."
"Hey, you're not some alien in disguise, are you? Are you the real one? Is this skeleton just a puppet controlled by you?"
He twisted the roll of colorful wires and looked at it from left to right - except for the copper wires and rubber that twisted and trembled like living things, it was almost the same as the ones in his drawer at home.
Doudou stared for a long time, but the noose didn't suddenly grow a mouth to answer; only the copper wire spread out, trying to pierce the skin of Doudou's fingertips, and then bounced back.
"Not fun."
He shook his head, grabbed the wire in his hand and swung it into the darkness:
The air exploded with this simple action - boom, boom, boom, boom: a series of explosions emerged in the dark corridor. Doudou was too lazy to look and didn't know what the wire had broken; anyway, the other end was still wrapped around the neck of the skeleton in his hand.
He held the half skull, shook it lightly, and seemed a little bewildered.
"Is that the end? Is this the final boss? There are no other monsters?"
-
"Feed."
The section chief uttered dull words and moved her knuckles away from her philtrum - but her gaze was still fixed on the CRT screen of the closed-circuit television; the control room was filled with the clacking sound of keyboards.
The operator stopped his fingers from dancing on the keyboard and turned back cautiously. He licked his lips and spoke again:
".Should we feed them now? Will we be interrupted—"
The section chief's head, neck, and face remained motionless. Only her eyes moved slightly downward, glancing at the operator who asked her:
"Feed."
The operator stopped questioning and slammed the button, spitting and shouting into the microphone:
"Feed! Repeat, feed the [Witch in the Building]!"
-
"Feed! Repeat, feed the [Witch in the Building]!"
Doudou listened to the loud roar coming from the corner, staring at the skull in his hand and the trembling wires around its neck:
"Your name is [Witch in the Building]? Or is that the name of the wire around your neck?"
"Then why do we have to feed them? Why? It's better to eat before fighting. It won't be so intense, right?"
He picked up the skull and the remaining half of its body and placed them next to his head. He pinched his throat and pretended that the skull was speaking:
"Hey, I'm hungry--I'm hungry--"
Gah——
The door behind Doudou, not far from the corridor, was knocked open: fully armed suppression troops rushed out.
There were six people in a group, with the two people in the front holding up the explosion-proof shield with a transparent top, leaning on the ground, and their pistols resting on the groove in the center of the shield.
Gululu!
The suppression troops in the middle did not hold any weapons, but instead pushed carts in their hands, making friction and rolling sounds:
It looked like a cart used in wholesale supermarkets, but the wide flatbed was piled with goods other than daily necessities.
The suppression troops suddenly stopped the cart: the layers of corpses piled on the cart swayed due to inertia and almost fell off.
They were the carcasses of animals, whole and fresh; black and red marks stretched all the way - they had not been bled like edible meat.
However, these are not common domestic animals:
Palm cockatoo, call duck, slender silver foal, Savannah cat, white lion cub
They are all expensive pet breeds, either natural or artificially bred.
Many dead creatures were piled up in one place, layer upon layer; from bottom to top, there were about dozens of them, almost reaching the three-meter-high ceiling -
If they were each replaced with cash, they probably wouldn't be much shorter in height.
The suppression team member walking in the front raised his palms, facing his body, and swung them backwards continuously: the team member holding a rifle at the back turned around and pushed open the door; the team member in the middle who was originally pushing a cargo cart drew a pistol from his waist and slowly retreated.
They exited the corridor just like that - leaving behind only the carcasses of pets to keep Doudou and the skeleton company.
Doudou watched the suppression troops complete all of this, not even thinking of interrupting them. After a little thought, he understood:
When the other party behaves strangely, it means——
The monster is about to transform, this is a phase transition!
[Right? This is like a cutscene in a game: you can only transform after it plays.]
Doudou opened his mouth wide and looked surprised:
"Oh my God! What is going on? Oh my god, is this possible?"
-
Click, click--
"Eh?"
Doudou lowered his head following the sound coming from his hand.
He happened to see the skull open its mouth: its upper and lower teeth clashed together, as if it were saying something, but there was no mouth or tongue. Fleshless fingers grasped the sides of the skull, rubbing and clicking; clear liquid oozed from the empty eye sockets.
"Wow! It's really moving!"
Doudou looked at the bodies piled up like sandbags, then at the skulls weeping tears; he was in a panic:
"But... why is this thing crying? Can skeletons shed tears?"
In the chaos just now, the skeleton had not moved at all. Now it was struggling in Doudou's grasp, its hands constantly scratching at the pile of animal carcasses.
Hope surged in Doudou's heart again - he originally thought that this skeleton was just a strange pendant controlled by rubber wires, but now he saw that maybe there was something interesting hidden in it.
"Um, you want to go over there?"
He tossed the skeleton gently to his side as if releasing a struggling animal.
The skeleton fell down waving his hands:
blah-
Before it touched the ground, the wires shot back from the darkness at the other end of the corridor, nailed to the center of the ceiling, and dangled the skeleton to the side of the pile of animal carcasses.
It landed among the dead animals, raised its ten fingers, and covered its face with them; its torso trembled, and its bones made a clanking sound.
It looked like she was sobbing.
The skeleton has movement, and even more: it is no longer just a thing hanging from a wire noose, acting as a weight at the end.
It leaned down, rubbing its empty eye sockets against the dead animals. The fluid flowing from its eye sockets stuck to its fur. Its hands curled up, hugging the cold animals.
Seeing the skeleton alive and kicking with his own eyes, Doudou was not very excited.
The air was filled with a strange smell that made people feel strangely uncomfortable. The air seemed to have become heavier, weighing down their bodies and hearts, making it impossible to feel happy.
