Madness ecstasy

The pupils were a pitch-black, like paint, and their existence was indistinguishable; there wasn't even a trace of blood in the whites of the eyes—as if they were painted on. This wasn't normal; any human being would have a vascular membrane in their eyeballs, and it would give the whites of their eyes a subtle blood-red tint.
So...it doesn't look like a pair of eyes that a human would have.
But it doesn’t matter:
Richard was gasping for breath - he could feel the forensic doctor, whose neck he was strangling, was also breathing heavily because of the tightening pressure on his neck - he stretched out his arms, aimed the muzzle of the gun, and aligned it with the eye.
At this distance, even if I were blind, I wouldn't miss.
All the fear and terror left his body and flew into the farther sky - perhaps it was because of the adrenaline, he had never been so excited; the hot blood seemed to rise along his spine and pour into his brain.
"Count one, two, three, and then start?"
The boy in the yellow raincoat gestured one, two, three, blinked hard a few times, and then opened his eyes wide:
"One"
Click.
flutter--
Chuck Lee pulled the trigger, followed by a slight click.
-
hiss--
He heard a noise like a leak and some muffled mumbling.
Blood splattered everywhere, spraying Richard's face. He should have worn a mask; small streams of blood were still gushing out, and some of it hit the ceiling with pressure, forming a bright red mass -
Richard lowered his head:
The autopsy officer, whom he had captured, was clutching his neck with all his might; blood gushed out from between his fingers. The forensic doctor's eyes were filled with a strange and complex emotion, and tears streamed down his face.
Across from Richard, the boy in the yellow raincoat rubbed his eyelids—looking awkwardly at the two people drenched in blood.
"It's over. It looks like your shot got deflected by your eyeball."
Chapter 42 Open the door
Dynamic vision that can capture the trajectory of stray bullets and even fired bullets
Richard certainly didn't have that.
However, he also did not believe that the semi-automatic pistol he got from the "Invisible Man" had some kind of supernatural rifling: it could make the bullet fired from the muzzle turn a big bend and hit himself, or to be more precise, hit the "hostage" under his control.
So, can the human eye lens really be so elastic and strong that it can bounce back a fired bullet?
He remembered the old joke: Kevlar and neoprene got drunk and gave birth to a baby.
boom--
Bah, bah, bah.
In short: Richard was so stunned that he couldn't feel the struggles and twitching of the body in his arms: the coroner, who had a very unlucky night, was trying hard to suppress the geyser-like neck while tripping over his own sticky blood that splattered all over the ground.
Normally, county-level cities in Jiaozhi Autonomous Prefecture don't have dedicated coroners—nor do they have cold storage facilities for bodies; they're often shared with funeral homes or hospitals. The Mong Cai City Police Department has a generous budget. Does this coroner have a permanent position?
Richard looked at the yellow-clothed boy who was still rubbing his eyes, his thoughts had already flown away to somewhere in the sky.
Bang!
"Oh, my god!"
The one who screamed was not the young man in the yellow raincoat, nor the forensic doctor with blood spurting from his neck, nor was it Richard himself.
There are always surprises:
Accompanied by noise and a cloud of dust like white mist.
A withered man, flailing and struggling, rolled out of the hole in the ceiling and fell to the ground on his back.
The sudden loud noise finally interrupted Richard's random thoughts - he stared blankly at the person falling from the ceiling.
He was a tall and thin man, his limbs like sticks stuck to his torso, waving around randomly; the collar of his shirt was stained yellow with sweat and grease, and his chest, abdomen and elbows were black, the color of soaked dust.
Judging from this feature, he also crawled in through the ventilation system.
Richard looked at this uninvited guest who looked like an inflatable man swaying outside a supermarket, and instinctively recalibrated the muzzle of his gun to point it at his eyebrows.
[It's—it's the new tenant who moved in next door to the yellow raincoat! What's going on? A circus?]
"Doudou! That man is going to die!"
The skinny man held his waist and bared his teeth; he tried to lower his voice, but couldn't help roaring, which made his words seem a little funny.
【Doudou.Doudou?】
Richard finally set a new code name in his mind and put it on the boy in the yellow raincoat;
What's this name? A pseudonym? A nickname?
"Oh!! That's right! Blood is gushing out of his neck!"
Doudou—Richard decided to use this name, which was smoother than [The Boy in the Yellow Raincoat]—opened his eyes wide, let out an exclamation-like cry, and rushed to the side of the coroner.
After a little hesitation, Richard buckled the safety of his gun and put it back into his waist: this weapon that once gave him a lot of security was now useless.
He stepped around the slimy pool of blood that had formed in an instant and squatted in front of the coroner—but his attention was still on the curious young man opposite him.
"Dou Dou! Press to stop the bleeding—No, your hands are too heavy! Let me do it."
Richard uttered the name naturally, as if he were an elder from the neighborhood who had known the other person for many years. He was too lazy to thank himself for the training he had received:
"He's definitely going to die at this rate. He needs to be taken to the hospital. If he doesn't have surgery, he'll die soon."
The boy named Doudou stepped aside to make room for Richard.
"Wow! Do you know battlefield first aid? That's amazing!"
Chuck knew the coroner had about a six to ten minute window—
Without prompt surgery, his chances of survival would be smaller than a bullet ricocheting off his eyeball.
Even with only cursory training in battlefield first aid, Richard could see this:
The most likely way to keep the coroner alive was to open the morgue door, call for help from other people in the police station - and then send the coroner to the Jiaozhi Autonomous Prefecture Hospital diagonally across the street.
The ensuing chaos and the interference of the police officers allowed Richard to easily escape from his current embarrassing situation.
But he didn't intend to do that:
Because Richard didn't know how the [Dou Dou] in front of him would react to his behavior.
And if the current situation is good, it is best not to change it yet.
【Observe first——】
Richard thought; he squatted beside the frantic man, pretending that he was also part of the operation to stop the bleeding.
He didn't think this was a good time to escape—quite the contrary, it was a chance to get more clues. Richard narrowed his eyes, tore off one of the coroner's sleeves, and handed it to the skinny man; the skinny man immediately tried to clumsily tie it around the coroner's neck as a tourniquet.
A shared short-term goal, urgency, and a sense of engagement.
He deliberately let the skinny man do the bandaging - so as to reduce the possibility of Doudou blaming himself when the forensic doctor finally found out that the patient died from excessive blood loss.
Richard couldn't help but sigh that this living skeleton-like man intervened at the perfect time - in a way, it even saved Richard's life.
[Is it a bit too perfect?]
Regardless of whether the coroner is dead or alive—the latter is highly unlikely—he might be considered a companion by the young man named Doudou. Becoming a teenager's friend isn't that difficult; a special experience shared is enough.
Richard felt that he had earned himself a chance to breathe again: from the monster in the yellow raincoat.
As for the bodies of John Dou and [the client] that were originally to be examined--
After a person dies, he or she won't run around: before other personnel from the Asia-Europe Postal Activity come to move the body, Richard will have the opportunity to check for any clues that may be hidden in the corpse.
John's death was not unjust. He could not have survived the hands of this thing called "Dou Dou".
Richard turned his gaze back to the skinny man: Aside from being a new resident of Tianhu Community, who was he? His unfamiliar movements, his fear mixed with panic; his frail frame, untrained in physical training, resembled a commoner.
[This person doesn't seem all that warm-hearted. And he looks vaguely familiar: Never mind, I'll study this later.]
Why would they sneak into the police station morgue in the middle of the night? Richard considered himself a cautious person: However, he did not think that these two people came to follow him.
"Oh, that won't do. Doctor, you don't know how to do this! Seeing you volunteering, I thought you had medical training. You're using a bandage like a hanging rope. You're strangling him to death without him losing blood."
Richard looked up and saw Doudou making an exaggerated gesture as if he was being strangled by a rope - then he stepped between Richard and the man:
"Get out of the way, I know how to handle this."
The skinny man wiped his face, smearing blood and black mud all over his face:
"Don't kill him! He can still be saved! Doudou, this guy is not a bad guy!"
Richard wanted to remain silent - but suddenly, he listened to his intuition again:
"He can indeed be saved, but he saw your face, Doudou. You decide whether to save him or not."
No one would climb into the police station through the ventilation duct in the middle of the night unless they wanted to reveal their identity: Richard did not need experience to make this judgment, it was common sense.
Doudou hopped and nimbly reached a wall of the morgue. Although the ventilation system was winding, the white paint on this wall, which had peeled off and revealed a dark gray background, was the exterior wall.
"Hey? If I'm saving someone, is it okay to damage public property?"
Chuck Richard and the haggard man squatted in place and looked at each other.
"Oh no, it's useless to ask."
Click
Doudou shrugged, opened his palms, and put his fingertips——
It easily penetrated the cement wall: powder and debris fell along the edge of the finger and scattered all over the ground; as if it had turned into cement slurry again.
He was like a naughty child who had dipped his hands in paint and was about to paint on the wall. However, the door that Doudou was "painting" was becoming a real thing.
flutter.
Doudou's hands were hammered into the 24-centimeter-thick exterior wall made of red bricks and covered with cement slurry, but they didn't reach his wrists.
He stood on tiptoe and drew a line lightly, creating an arc at the top. Then he suddenly squatted down, drawing a straight line from top to bottom on the wall with the edge of his palm. Finally, he brought his hands together in the middle.
Although the edges are crooked, this "door" that looks like a cartoon graffiti is completed:
"OK."
Doudou put his hand into the center of the "door" and pulled it out lightly.
He pulled out the huge, heavy, regularly shaped cement block—the warm night breeze blew into the cold morgue. The street was deserted, and only the Jiaozhi Autonomous Prefecture Hospital across the street was still flickering with lights.
Richard's mouth opened wide: he didn't know how to describe the act of creating a door out of thin air - as if they were actually in a gingerbread house in a fairy tale.
boom!
Doudou put the "door" aside: Richard saw his feet sinking deeply into the tiles.
"I'll be right back. Take this doctor to the hospital. You two, stop running around. Be right back."
Doudou walked between the two dumbfounded people, lifted the coroner up sideways, and then took two small leaps and stepped out of the door he had just opened.
There was no sound of something heavy falling: Doudou had disappeared.
After a while, the cool air in the morgue was blown away by the night wind, and it was cool, neither hot nor cold.
The skinny man stared blankly at his hands stained with blood, not knowing whether he was talking to Richard or just sighing:
"He's not normal."
Richard sighed and began to take off his blood-soaked white coat.
"I can see it."
Chapter 43 Iron Ruler
At about 2:20 in the morning, the Mong Cai City Police Department discovered unusual movements in the morgue:
There were gradually drying red and black bloodstains on the ground, a hollow groove dug out by some industrial machinery on the wall - a large mass of brick and cement mixture leaning to one side - the collapsed ceiling, and the missing coroner named Liu.
In the entire city of Mong Cai, there were only twelve forensic pathologists working in the Forensic Science Department. Most of them were scattered across various jurisdictions, busy examining cases of physical assault. Only one remained at the bureau to perform the autopsy. And no one would approach the morgue in the middle of the night without provocation. Therefore, it took over an hour for the abnormality to be discovered.
It wasn't for some strange or horrific reason; it was simply because the air conditioning in the morgue was turned up too high, making people's stomachs churn, which left Liu, the forensic doctor, alone. Furthermore, Mong Cai was not peaceful that night, and most of the police officers were busy outside.
