Situ Jiong readily followed suit and turned around with Leopard and Dog. "Can we talk to the Tyrannosaurus? I think he has such a big head, so he must be very smart, right?" Leopard scolded him bluntly, "He's such a big and fierce creature. No matter how eloquent he is, I wouldn't dare talk to him in front of him! What if he wants to eat me?"

This is a good question. Animals do not have the various concepts of humans, at least they are not necessarily consistent. There is no such thing as not eating someone just because they can communicate. If it weren't for Situ Jiong, the dog would probably have been eaten by the leopard. Of course, now that they have been together for a long time, the leopard will not eat the dog again even if Situ Jiong is not there. Not eating acquaintances is similar to humans in this regard.

It probably has something to do with brain capacity. Cheng Yijiu's brain is already very close to that of a human, so he feels pretty good. The helicopter raced against time with the Tyrannosaurus Rex. Relying on the advantage of almost straight-line flight, they finally successfully arrived at the location of the Women's Mountaineering Club before Cheng Yijiu entered visual range.

"Hey, take us down!" someone shouted from below, but the one above couldn't hear anything. The helicopter moved a little and got stuck several kilometers away from the women, right along the route Cheng Yijiu was supposed to take. "We're complaining about you!" The women called the 110 number one after another.

Just as they were saying a few words, a loud, long roar echoed from a nearby hilltop. A massive, brown, striped beast appeared on the ridge. While these women read some news, it was mostly about fashion and the like. They didn't recognize it as the newly discovered Tyrannosaurus Rex, the largest land carnivore. They simply screamed, "There's a monster!"

The helicopter turned on its loudspeaker, emitting a sharp explosion, hoping to scare away the giant beast. Cheng Yijiu turned a deaf ear to it. He looked up and roared at the helicopter, and the sound even carried wind pressure.

The helicopter didn't lose control, but the climbers in the distance were paralyzed, their legs weak, their bladders incontinent, and afraid to move. The monster was terrifying enough, but its face, with its protruding fangs, clearly showed it was a carnivorous beast. They were going to die here, their flesh eaten by the monster. There was no point in crying; they could only hope the people in the helicopter would rescue them.

The helicopter dropped a stun grenade. The beast didn't know what it was, but Cheng Yijiu recognized it. He closed his eyes and roared at the same time. The flash and sonic boom were what should have happened, but now there was only a flash, and the sonic boom was almost silent. Cheng Yijiu's roar peaked and troughed.

Now, Cheng Yijiu was less than a kilometer away from the women. He had no choice but to use lethal ammunition—no matter how rare, human life was ultimately far more valuable than that of wild animals. The marksman raised his rifle and fired a burst of bullets, leaving only sparks. The 5.8mm bullets ricocheted off the Tyrannosaurus's back and head, leaving it unscathed.

Cheng Yijiu roared and leaped forward, his claws directly hooking onto the helicopter's landing gear, which was nearly a hundred meters above the ground. The sharp claws directly cut through the landing gear, preventing the helicopter from being pulled down - so being too sharp is indeed not good. The drone filmed this, and everyone was stunned - who would have thought that this monster's muscle strength would be so exaggerated?

This jump directly reached tens of meters high, five or six times its body length—this wouldn't be a problem for a creature the size of a tiger or leopard, but for a behemoth weighing six or seven tons, over ten meters long, and five or six meters tall? Could its muscle fibers unleash such immense power? Could its bones and ligaments withstand such immense force? It landed without any abnormalities at all. Is this truly the physical strength expected of an Earth creature?

It was already a stretch that a 5.8mm bullet couldn't penetrate its armor; an attack helicopter was absolutely necessary. And there was one on standby. Cheng Yijiu saw it, and immediately demonstrated the Deinonychus's true athletic prowess—it was practically a visual afterimage, leaping dozens of meters left and right, and the average human eye could barely follow it.

With a long jumping distance, fast jumping speed and high movement frequency, Cheng Yijiu sprayed out a hot air bomb, directly igniting a withered tree trunk on the side, then turned around and disappeared into the mountains and forests. Although it could still be tracked from the perspective of a helicopter, since the Tyrannosaurus Rex had turned around, there was naturally no need to attack it anymore.

Just put the armed helicopter on alert.

Cheng Yijiu didn't want to test whether he could block the machine gun shells at all. If this was the world of Monster Hunter, he could give it a try, but forget about the real world.

Chapter 12

The Tyrannosaurus turned and left, bringing a sigh of relief to everyone. The attack helicopter couldn't possibly leave—at least not until the drone reported the beast was more than twenty kilometers away. The transport helicopter quickly arrived and tried to pull the women aboard—there would be a fee for this rescue, and if they refused to pay, their credit would be affected.

Now is not the time for the fairy to act rogue. Go play rogue with the Tyrannosaurus and see if it eats you. The cost of rescuing these people is quite high. At least five or six military helicopters will be deployed, and armed helicopters will be deployed to patrol the surrounding area, and drones will be used for tracking.

Cheng Yijiu turned around and ran away, and now Situ Jiong was in trouble - because he was exactly in the direction where Cheng Yijiu ran away, even if the deviation was more than ten degrees, it was still in the same direction.

The wind shifted again, and neither the big cat, leopard, nor the dog could smell Cheng Yijiu, the Tyrannosaurus. Although still worried, they ultimately decided not to drag Situ Jiong away. So, the cat's curiosity returned, and it watched Situ Jiong collect plant specimens, photograph the birds that appeared with its phone, and even dragged out a few fresh rats...

Of course, they didn't know that the Tyrannosaurus was approaching rapidly...

Cheng Yijiu was not hungry, so he was not angry even when he was driven away by the armed helicopter. Anyway, he did not want to test whether his skin and flesh could withstand machine gun shells. Although the experts calculated the muscle and bone strength he showed now, they felt that even full-power rifle bullets would be powerless against him.

This guy's muscles are no worse than steel fibers. Some people think that even a .50 bullet can't penetrate him.

Here's what happened: There was a large rock on the top of the mountain, just like a large car on the road, which could easily cause a ghost to appear. So this time, a man with a large cat, a leopard, and a dog ran into a large ghost.

They had just passed the rocks when they saw the trees tremble on the side. A massive golden-brown monster suddenly rushed out, not even five meters away from them. Even Cheng Yijiu was stunned; he hadn't noticed anyone was there. Leopard and Dog were furious. Dog's limbs went limp and he peed himself. Leopard's first reaction was to jump up a tree and escape.

Unfortunately, it was unsuccessful, as Cheng Yijiu's nostrils opened and closed, releasing a stream of hot air similar to dragon's breath, accompanied by a strange howling sound. The leopard's legs weakened, and it urinated. Cheng Yijiu frowned. The smell of cat urine was so unpleasant that he was almost aroused with murderous intent. The human, on the other hand, didn't care and was just stunned. At least he didn't urinate.

Looking at the massive beast head so close, it somewhat resembled a wolf's head, but with a wider muzzle, protruding fangs, and nostrils that could open and close, it was essentially a fusion of a wolf and a lizard. This massive head could swallow a human in one gulp. Situ Jiong's mind went blank. The big cat and the dog couldn't speak now.

However, the Tyrannosaurus Rex did not come over and swallow the three of them immediately. Instead, its low breathing and gurgling sounds sounded to Situ Jiong's ears as, "Three little tricks, almost collided with each other." Then Situ Jiong's rationality came back a little, "Yeah, we almost collided with each other, big brother, you are not hungry now, are you?" Since his brain had not fully recovered, what he said was stupid.

As soon as he said that, he knew something bad was going to happen. Situ Jiong's brain suddenly lost all blood, and he wanted to sleep. The leopard also grabbed Situ Jiong's clothes, "We're going to die!" The dog whimpered and nodded. "Hahahaha, you guys are so funny." In the end, that's what he heard. Cheng Yijiu didn't want to eat them. He was really curious about the fact that someone could understand animal language.

"You, a human, can actually communicate with wild animals? This is really rare. Don't worry, I won't eat you." Cheng Yijiu also wanted to communicate, "Brother Tyrannosaurus." Situ Jiong said, "Stop, stop, stop? What is Tyrannosaurus? Are you talking about me?" Cheng Yijiu was quite curious. Although his face was ferocious, at least he looked kind at this moment.

The big cat and the dog calmed down a little. After hearing Cheng Yijiu clearly say that he would not eat them, the cat became curious. She approached Cheng Yijiu very cautiously, stretching her neck to try to smell the scent of this huge monster.

Cheng Yijiu didn't care about this. "Classified it for me? And then gave it a name? It's a bit ugly, but never mind. I don't know what to call it. Since you want to call it the Tyrannosaurus Rex, just call it that." Cheng Yijiu let it go. In order to show his goodwill, he even lay down - otherwise it would be too high.

Even when he was lying on the ground with his chin on the ground, Cheng Yijiu's head was still as tall as a person, and Situ Jiong put his hand on the short hair on Cheng Yijiu's neck for some unknown reason - he didn't dare to touch the carapace because there were sharp protrusions on it like blades, just like ice knives.

Cheng Yijiu purred. The touch of this person's hand was quite pleasant, and it didn't pose any danger to him. Situ Jiong felt the short, soft fur, which had a layer of velvet underneath that insulated the body from the heat. His palm felt the tough skin and extremely strong muscles beneath the fur. It was like a block of iron, much harder than the muscles of a big cat or leopard.

His fingers suddenly touched something hard, and it fell off with a flick of his finger, having become lodged in the short hair. Situ Jiong looked at the object in his palm. Although it was deformed, he could tell it was a bullet. He leaned in to examine the spot where he had flicked it, but found nothing unusual. It felt like a slight indentation on the skin, and it was still healing.

Although not a weapons expert, Situ Jiong understood one thing: this Tyrannosaurus Rex wasn't afraid of bullets at all; they didn't even scratch his skin. "Oh, you humans use it, that thing should be called a gun?" Cheng Yijiu said, pretending to be a novice. Seeing Cheng Yijiu so easygoing, Situ Jiong became curious and started asking questions, wanting to understand the secrets of this beast.

The big cat and the dog were currently grooming themselves, licking their fur—after all, Situ Jiong would never let them lick him. "Brother, are you the only one left now?" Situ Jiong tried to take advantage of the situation. "Ah, I should be the only one left. At least since I was born, I haven't seen my parents, and of course, I haven't seen any other of my kind either."

Chapter XIII

Everyone knows how to brag. Of all the punishment missions, none had a communication phase like this one, and it was so peaceful. Even after Cheng Yijiu ate four poachers, there weren't any hordes of officials shouting at him to kill him. Although his situation was worse than before—even though he had transformed into a more powerful monster than before, he was under surveillance by drones almost all day.

Previous punishment missions had never been monitored like that. With the advancement of technology, there was no way around it. Cheng Yijiu knew that the wealthy university had specially modified a long-endurance drone, adding a high-definition camera, a high-precision ultraviolet lens, and, of course, a high-precision infrared lens. Cheng Yijiu's extraordinary vision had seen this drone hovering at high altitudes many times, even at night, so he could be sure of this.

Everything about him was probably under surveillance. This made Cheng Yijiu very unhappy, but there was nothing he could do. If only it were the Middle Ages, or even the end of the 20th century.

Unfortunately, he couldn't share these feelings with the human in front of him. He could only say that apart from him, there was probably no other Tyrannosaurus Rex. Situ Jiong thought the beast in front of him seemed quite easy to talk to, but honestly, if he stayed any longer, his blood pressure would really rise and his heart would beat very fast. It was better to leave quickly and talk to him again when there was a chance.

It was also a farewell, and Cheng Yijiu certainly wouldn't attack him. He didn't get up, but instead purred to signal Situ Jiong and the others to leave. The man, the leopard, and the dog vanished quickly, followed by the roar of the Tyrannosaurus Rex's laughter. To the average person, it would have been just the strange barking of a wild animal, a guttural one at that.

Cheng Yijiu's "similar" creature has been causing headaches for several university biology and paleontology departments—this monster suddenly appeared out of nowhere, and no one can find its origin. It's also a pity that it was extinct as soon as it was discovered. Such a large beast hadn't been discovered by humans for thousands of years, let alone decades, and then it would have been extinct at most within a few decades of discovery. It is now functionally extinct.

It's not like we haven't discovered it at all. We can look for it in the Classic of Mountains and Seas. After searching through it, everyone thinks Qiongqi is the most similar, so could Tyrannosaurus Rex be called Qiongqi? My ancestors discovered this beast long ago, and it was listed as one of the Four Evils. So, could the other three also be extinct beasts? Of course, they could be. If Cheng Yijiu wasn't a Cangzhaolong but a Yuanhulong, then he could be called Taowu.

Almost all zoologists agreed that they still needed to find a way to examine the Tyrannosaurus's body. However, this creature's physical fitness was probably on par with the strongest creatures on Earth, and it was impossible for a mere tranquilizer bullet to deal with it. A tranquilizer bullet that could penetrate its skin defenses was no different from live ammunition, but the dosage required to tranquilize such a formidable creature was difficult to control. The current consideration was to place a large dose of anesthetic capsules in its food and administer it orally.

Considering its size, it would require a significant amount of medication. Crucially, the medication would have to first travel to the liver, eliminating at least 60% to 70% of its effectiveness. Find the largest veterinary capsule available, or if that's not possible, make one yourself. It should be at least the size of a thumb, stuff it into the pig or cow, and let this monster consume it.

The problem was the complex terrain of the mountainous region, and luring the beast wasn't easy. They also happened to spot Situ Jiong—the drone broadcast footage showed him to be quite capable, having apparently calmed the enormous beast. While everyone knew the beast's intelligence was definitely high, Situ Jiong was truly remarkable, having the nerve to calm the beast and even pet it a few times.

Being able to stop the beast from attacking the leopards and hunting dogs around him is already an amazing ability. Now they hope that he can lure the beast to the vicinity of their station to eat food with anesthetics, so that it will be easier to deal with after it is anesthetized.

It's not seduction, but at least it's comfort.

This requires placing food near the station and luring the Tyrannosaurus over little by little.

After concluding his conversation, Cheng Yijiu continued to wander the mountains, foraging for food. For a predator, he was active for far too long. Most felines spend more than half their day resting, and even canines don't run all day; they often lie down to conserve energy. If Cheng Yijiu were to continue hunting at this pace, it would likely lead to ecological collapse.

Situ Jiong was currently at a management station, deep in the mountains. The station consisted of a sturdy two-story building, housing staff, storage, workstations, and a temporary wildlife rescue clinic. The one-story annexes housed injured animals, stored fodder, and other supplies, along with a large open space. Situ Jiong and four other rangers lived there. Electricity was available, supplemented by solar panels on the roof.

Cheng Yijiu remembered the scent of Situ Jiong and the two beasts he brought with him. A carnaurus has an excellent sense of smell, so after determining Situ Jiong's location, Cheng Yijiu intentionally or unintentionally approached that place. It's true that there were quite a lot of beasts over there. As Cheng Yijiu approached, he not only smelled the scent of leopards and hounds, but also pandas, and of course many other animals.

Eat panda? To be honest, Cheng Yijiu really thought about it, but bears are similar to cats and are not tasty - unlike canines, these meats need to be pressed with spices, just like bear paws, which rely on various auxiliary ingredients to bring out their flavor. In fact, it is not as delicious as pig's trotters.

Cheng Yijiu's current sense of taste wasn't human, but he still had some human-like memories. So, he had no desire to eat these animals; he would kill them simply for their ecological niche in the food chain. He wouldn't specifically hunt them down, only the unlucky ones who stumbled upon him. Fortunately, such creatures were few and far between, and most beasts would avoid them.

Cheng Yijiu's approach made the animals currently residing at the management station very restless. If they hadn't been injured and unable to move, they would have tried to escape long ago. The ones that could move did indeed escape - before escaping, they even said hello to Situ Jiong, "The big monster is coming, you should run away quickly too."

Chapter Fourteen

Anyway, the ones that couldn't move should just stay there with their eyes closed and wait for death—wild animals are pretty open-minded. If they can escape, they'll escape. If they can't, then they'll die. After all, judging by the monster's maw, swallowing them in one bite shouldn't be painful. Situ Jiong also quickly calmed down a few small animals that had been bandaged and were not very active but were still trying to escape—essentially, he moved them to the houses where people lived.

After all, this house was made of concrete. It couldn't be damaged that easily, right? Perhaps? After all, the creature approaching was the most powerful land beast, several times larger than an Asian elephant. Situ Jiong didn't see how high it leaped and landed unharmed, but he had a good idea of its strength when he stroked its fur. It felt like it was entirely possible for it to destroy this concrete house.

He could only try to appease it himself, and his superiors had also said that a large amount of food would be released, which should be enough to calm the beast down. Situ Jiong would also report on this, and his report showed that the beast's intelligence was not low, even higher than that of a bear and likely close to that of a chimpanzee or dolphin. Because when Cheng Yijiu communicated with Situ Jiong, he displayed considerable logical ability, expressing himself clearly and making connections.

Of course, Situ Jiong did not reveal his ability to communicate. He just said that the beast was very smart and should be taller than a bear.

The meat they delivered wasn't fresh—the pork was fresh, freshly slaughtered, but the beef was clearly imported frozen meat that had been thawed. Foreign beef is cheaper, after all. They didn't initially insert the capsules; they were just feeding it first, letting the Tyrannosaurus get used to it.

We couldn't just send the professors to the small building to wait. What if something went wrong? So we had to wait, but we could slowly transport some equipment there while we reinforced the building. Using high-grade cement and rebar to build a mound-like structure, it should be completely indestructible to the minions.

Cheng Yijiu's big head stretched out from the woods. Not only the drone but also the camera at the site captured him. The distance was only more than 20 meters. The next moment, the branches and leaves moved in disorder, and the huge beast stretched out most of its body from the woods. Finally, its thick tail swept, hitting the tree as thick as a water tank, and a piece of the bark was torn off.

A large array of fresh meat was already spread out on the ground. Cheng Yijiu ignored it and simply lowered his head, his tongue swirling around to take half a pig's mouth. With a few swipes of his jaws, the pig was reduced to rotten meat and broken bones before being swallowed. Cheng Yijiu's mouth was a bone crusher, and even large bones were crushed to dust by his teeth. A mere pig, especially one weighing around 200 pounds, wouldn't be able to withstand the force of his teeth.

That would have to be a fully grown boar weighing half a ton. The large bones, especially the skull, were difficult for Cheng Yijiu to chew through. This time, there was only one pig left, a half-cut, white striped pig. Cheng Yijiu devoured it in a few bites—for someone of his size, even eating such a large one would last him a whole day without needing to hunt again. That was over a hundred kilograms of meat and bones, and it was quite fatty, providing enough calories.

The key is that Cheng Yijiu doesn't rely solely on food for survival. He has a circulating energy system that connects him to the earth through his four legs. When he walks on the ground, energy flows between him and the earth like breathing, bringing him sufficient vitality. This is how earth vein energy flows, flowing between mountains and water.

After eating the meat, Cheng Yijiu did not turn around and go back into the woods, but slowly walked towards the Forestry Bureau station.

Standing there, its shoulders were half the height of a second-story building. If it raised its head, it would be almost level with the roof. From the tip of its nose to the tip of its tail, it was almost as long as the building. There were no more animals in the animal kennels. The injured and immobile ones had been moved inside, and those who could run had fled.

Cheng Yijiu's nostrils flared and closed, releasing a puff of air that stirred the dust. He then turned to look at the small building. The scene at that moment was like something out of a horror movie. The creature's face was pressed close to the glass, its large eyes glaring at the glass. The injured beasts inside were terrified. The stress reaction had already caused several of them to go into a state of tonic coma.

The beast looked almost as big as a building. Only then did people clearly grasp the enormous size of this monster. The surveillance cameras in various locations captured the scene with exceptional clarity and stark contrast. Cheng Yijiu refrained from attacking the building, while Situ Jiong bravely walked onto the rooftop to confront the Tyrannosaurus Rex.

The roof was flat, covered in solar panels and solar water heaters. Situ Jiong was standing on it, and Cheng Yijiu, of course, saw and smelled this creature. So he squatted down, resting his front paws on the roof, his head raised above the roof as he looked at the little creature. "Hello, see you again," Cheng Yijiu's purring meant.

Situ Jiong looked like Shin-chan to him, scratching his head, "This... pork is okay, right? You almost scared them to death."

Cheng Yijiu chuckled, and he was laughing. "I'm a carnivore, so dealing with them is normal. If they scare me to death, I won't have to waste my energy. Besides, some of these guys are too small to be eaten." There was even contempt in Cheng Yijiu's eyes. "By the way, pork is okay. Let's switch to beef next time."

Situ Jiong pondered for a moment, ready to take a risk and give it a try, "Well, um... do you want to check your body? See if there are any hidden dangers? A healthy body is the guarantee of life." He tried to persuade the beast in front of him, maybe he could trick it?

Cheng Yijiu certainly knew what this was, but he couldn't act as smart as a human - "Damn drones and modern technology!" He cursed inwardly but still had to put on an act, "Physical examination? Like them?" Cheng Yijiu tilted his mouth and pointed at the big cat and dog in the room.

"Ah, just like them, check if there is any disease and treat it. At least it can get rid of the worms in the stomach." Then Situ Jiong also tried to popularize parasites with Cheng Yijiu, the "beast". At least when he used it to scare the leopard, it took her a long time to understand the situation and scare her into agreeing to check.

This beast's IQ is probably higher than that of a leopard. Perhaps it can understand more and is more easily "fooled".

"Bugs? Bugs that can survive in my stomach? I don't think so..." Cheng Yijiu felt more and more that this punishment task was really a punishment. It was really not free with such strict surveillance. Now they even tricked him into doing a physical examination.

Chapter 15

The scam failed, and Cheng Yijiu just exchanged a few words with this guy before turning around and leaving. The largest land carnivore was really as light and agile as a mink, and disappeared into the woods more than 20 meters away in just a few steps - but unfortunately he still couldn't escape the tracking of the long-endurance drone in the sky.

After that, someone came to take samples, at least some footprints or something. The figure of the Tyrannosaurus Rex in the surveillance video was so clear, forming a sharp contrast with the building, and it seemed to be really smart - the key was that Situ Jiong, who was called a druid by his friends, seemed to be able to really appease the beast.

Otherwise, it would have been bitten off and swallowed.

Then we will speed up the construction and start moving the equipment after the bunker is completed. Once the personnel are in place, we can try to anesthetize this huge beast.

Cheng Yijiu knew full well that the humans here were wicked, thinking of checking his body with no good intentions. For a beast, this was humiliating—when he first became a tiger, his legacy to the world was firstly the terrifying reputation of the number one man-eating tiger, and secondly, the fact that humans only had a single, blurry, distant photograph that was believed to be of that terrifying tiger.

Cheng Yijiu admitted that it was his photo, and that the photographer hadn't made a mistake. But now he had to be taken for a physical examination by humans? This was truly humiliating.

It doesn’t matter if you eat free food, but even if you use your butt to think, you know there must be a mystery behind it. It is an iron rule that free food is the most expensive.

There are quite a few scientists studying Tyrannosaurus, primarily gathered at universities in central Sichuan. Their labs are primarily video-based, with drones and standard surveillance cameras capturing vast amounts of footage, sufficient for studying the beast's movements. Some scientists have proposed a new taxonomic classification—they believe the Tyrannosaurus is the world's largest mustelid, arguing with experts who believe it belongs to the Creodontidae.

Afterwards, they were beaten by civets and the combined forces of cats, canines, and even dogs, bears, hyenas and the like came.

Because Cheng Yijiu looks like nothing and looks like everything. If it weren't for his hair and other things, even Lu Crocodile and the like would probably come.

There are almost no mammals that have exposed gums like him; all have lips, and only crocodiles have exposed gums. Now, clear images have proven that he still has a tiny bit of lips, but they are very degenerate.

Cheng Yijiu didn't come back right away. It was half a month later that he approached this place again. With nothing else to do, Cheng Yijiu thought he needed to go for a walk. "The ecology of this damn place is probably going to collapse," he thought. As a carnivore, he would eat at least an adult wild boar or even more every day, and two or three deer was also possible. These amounts were considered small for his size, but there were only a few wild animals in this place.

Cheng Yijiu's mobility wasn't unlimited; he spent his entire day on the move, so his range was limited. And now, within this limited distance, the biological population within this radius was out of balance—those near the periphery had all fled, and the numbers within were about to enter a downward spiral. A single ferocious beast was likened to tens of thousands of cavalrymen, unable to sustain themselves even by foraging for supplies, and on the verge of starvation.

A single beast like the Tyrannosaurus Rex can defeat 100,000 cavalrymen. It's really awesome.

So he had to move, either by relocating his nest or seeking human food. It would take at least five or six years for the herbivorous populations to recover. Cheng Yijiu strolled toward the site, while the drones were already broadcasting a warning for everyone to get ready. The bunker was quickly completed thanks to accelerated construction, and the equipment had already been moved in—a small building would suffice; the bunker would primarily serve as a shelter for the scientific team.

The beef was ready, and the thumb-sized capsules had been stuffed into the meat. Twenty or so capsules were more than enough to numb a herd of elephants—but considering the size and tonnage of the Tyrannosaurus Rex and the problem of carnivores, this amount might not be enough. Anyway, a whole skinned cow weighed at least 600 pounds.

Cheng Yijiu sauntered over. Many of the young animals had been rehabilitated and released back into the wild, but recently, several pandas had given birth, and these damned wild pandas had actually brought their cubs straight to the human station, begging for food and water. It was truly outrageous, so a dozen or so pandamen had been stationed here. If the Tyrannosaurus Rex headed this way, it would probably face the poor pandas head-on. Hopefully, they could escape in time.

The panda people planned to escape with the pandas, but they lacked enough vehicles. They had to rely on Situ Jiong's advice, saying he could appease the Tyrannosaurus Rex and get it to eat beef instead of the panda mother. The pandas were taken into a small building and given bowls of milk and apple-steamed buns. Everyone, except Situ Jiong, was on edge—especially the panda people and scientists, as this was their first real, close encounter with a Tyrannosaurus Rex.

Cheng Yijiu emerged from the woods. He first smelled the cow, then saw it on the ground. The beast walked over and began to devour it, biting off a third of the body in one bite. After chewing a few times, he swallowed it. "That damn rich, fatty aroma exploded in my mouth." Due to his cheerful mood, his blood flow accelerated, causing the air he breathed into his air sacs to carry more heat. The hot air from his throat even caused the fat to char, and the Maillard reaction brought a huge aroma.

Eating an entire cow wouldn't take long, maybe twenty minutes. All that remained was a fragmented skull, part of the spine, and a pelvis. Of course, Cheng Yijiu had swallowed all the anesthetic. Situ Jiong came out, muttering to himself, "That's right..." But he managed his expression well, even forcing a smile. "Hey, did you enjoy your meal?"

This guy touched Cheng Yijiu's front paws. In fact, looking at those upturned, scimitar-like claws, Situ Jiong was a little scared - it looked very much like a cat's. The claws were half a meter long, like sharp scimitars. The damage caused by this thing was actually excessive - except for whales in the sea, there was actually no animal on land that could withstand the consequences of such a claw digging into its body.

With claws this long, the only result of grabbing it is to cut the prey into pieces like multiple blades...

Chapter 16

The beef was ready, and Cheng Yijiu opened his mouth and picked it up and began to tear into it, of course, a large amount of medicine went into his stomach. Everyone here, including Situ Jiong and the scientists, was of the same mind, muttering, "That's right..." Cheng Yijiu was of course very aware of this, but first of all, he was indeed hungry, and secondly, after becoming a beast, human caution had subsided a lot. Infected by animal nature, he was a little too resigned to fate and focused on the present.

So, naturally, he'd eat meat, and he'd eat it like crazy. Watching this giant beast eat up close was pretty risqué. Those monsters in movies that eat meat and people are just like that. Eating a cow wouldn't take more than a few minutes. Given Cheng Yijiu's size, only elephants would take longer. Otherwise, he'd just chew and swallow all the other animals in one bite.

After finishing the beef, Cheng Yijiu groaned and went looking for water. There was naturally a pond and a trough here. The trough was originally for livestock, but it was too small for Cheng Yijiu, so he went to the pond and drank a lot of water. He was not afraid of parasites. What kind of powerful insect could possibly parasitize him? After eating and drinking enough, blood naturally flowed to the belly, and the lack of blood in the brain caused drowsiness.

Given Cheng Yijiu's current strength, he had lost all the caution he had shown when he was a man-eating tiger. He simply found an open space—next to a small building—and leaned against it to sleep. His posture was decent enough, with his head resting on his front legs and his hind legs on their sides, like a dog sleeping with a tiger.

Situ Jiong bravely walked out of the small building, walked around Cheng Yijiu, and reached out to touch his short, wiry hair. Then he ran back inside and took out a heart rate monitor, carefully placing it on Cheng Yijiu's chest - the guy was lying on the ground, nearly three meters high. Cheng Yijiu's heartbeat was not fast to begin with, and it slowed even more after falling asleep. "Is the medicine working?" Situ Jiong was also wondering this question.

In fact, it wasn’t that fast. It would take at least twenty minutes, and Cheng Yijiu had only been lying there for a short time.

The scientists were already impatient, but a beast that large could be extremely dangerous if something went wrong. As a backup plan, the bunker contained an automatic small-caliber cannon equipped with a specially designed tranquilizer bullet. Although it didn't really matter whether it contained anesthesia or not—the bullet could penetrate the monster's skin and muscle at high speed, so the consequences were essentially the same whether it contained an anesthetic or not.

Cheng Yijiu was actually knocked unconscious—his confidence was too great. The amount of anesthetic he'd taken was enough to intimidate a herd of elephants, at least ten. It could probably intimidate two or three Tyrannosaurus Rex—and yet the professor still felt it wasn't enough. Unfortunately, if he used a dose that could intimidate a blue whale, the beef would just be a side dish; the capsules wouldn't fit.

Of course, some believe that too much anesthetic was used, and that the extremely rare Tyrannosaurus Rex/Taowu might have died from respiratory arrest. Incidentally, many scientists have formally requested that the name of the Tyrannosaurus Rex, including its scientific name, be changed to Taowu, a Chinese "ancient beast."

It took Situ Jiong more than ten minutes to confirm that Cheng Yijiu was truly in a deep sleep and would not wake up for a while. So he made a gesture - the old man, middle-aged man and young man rushed out of the bunker directly, and the first thing they did was to reach out and touch Cheng Yijiu's hair. Cheng Yijiu's hair was not long, very short and thick, and it felt a little prickly to the touch. Under this hard hair was a layer of fine down that could retain warmth.

Cheng Yijiu's subcutaneous fat wasn't thick, yet his muscles were well-developed, giving him the appearance of a muscular, well-defined man covered in skin. The professors instructed the young graduate students to move the equipment, while they used cameras and cell phones to record the beast's appearance and data. The face was particularly striking, a fusion of lizard and wolf, quite similar to a carnodon—the lack of subcutaneous fat gave it the terrifying appearance of a skull covered in skin.
