After Meng Shanshan started eating, Lin Yiyi turned and saw Meng Yuran staring at his bowl of noodles in front of him with distress and deep in thought.

“What’s the matter?” Squeezing Lu Xun out of the way, she sat down next to Meng Yuran.

She had planned for this birthday for a long time. It’d all be a waste if her instant son didn’t enjoy it. Besides, he hasn’t even discovered the surprise yet!

“This noodle, you need to start from here.”

She pointed at the noodles inside of the bowl and looked at him with anticipation.

Meng Yuran, “……”

Why was she so particular about how he was eating his noodles!

He looked down and picked up a strand of noodle…

The noodle tasted even better than it smelled!

He had never had birthday noodles that were this tasty before, and…

The long, long strand of noodle seemed to go on forever!

“Tasty, eh?”

Lin Yiyi was so proud of herself that her back was straight. She seemed to be bragging about how awesome she was from head to toe. “When you make noodles, the ratio between water and flour is very important. One can only make one long strand of noodle with the perfect dough. I have heard before that adding egg and salt in the dough would increase elasticity and allow you to make one long, nonstop strand of noodle. I have never tried it before, but luckily, I am so talented that I succeeded after only a few tries. Only your bowl of noodles is made from one long strand!”

The entire bowl of noodle was from one single strand!

Lu Xun’s hands that were scooping out the third bowl of noodles for himself stopped in midair and he looked longingly over at Meng Yuran‘’s bowl of noodle!

Lu Mingzhe, too, looked up from his bowl and looked over.

Meng Shanshan was the only one who blinked curiously.

Being stared at by everyone, Meng Yuran didn’t feel uncomfortable in the very least.

Quite the contrary, he had completely recovered from the blue feeling that he was experiencing just a little while ago!

This was more than just “a gesture”!

She had experimented for a long time for the right consistency of the dough and didn’t even have the time to make a couple extra dishes.

Luckily, the final outcome was very delightful!

Meng Yuran tried very hard to suppress his lips that were trying to curve upward. “It’s alright.”

He may have tried to downplay it, but everyone could tell that he was in a good mood.

This time, it was Lu Mingzhe who hrumphed at his bowl of noodles.

Why was it that his bowl of noodles suddenly seemed less tasty than it was before?

This might be hard to believe, but what pleased the birthday boy the most today was not the scale of the party, that they have invited a lot of guests, or that they have hired magicians, clowns, and other performers, but the simple bowl of birthday noodle…

Alright, so it wasn’t that simple after all!

From picking out the ingredients to its perfect texture, a lot of work had gone into it.

Most importantly, his was the only bowl that was made from just one strand of noodle. Nobody else had that!

That was truly unique!

The next day was the weekend.

All of the students who attended the birthday party had great fun and time always flew when one was having fun. Luckily, there was a big tour bus that would drop them all off at home one by one, but it was still pretty late by the time that they arrived home. Basically, it was already bedtime.

When everybody at the Lin’s were still sound asleep in the morning, others had already quietly posted pictures of this well-planned birthday party onto the internet.

It was now the information age. Anything that used the web as the medium would be passed from one to ten then ten to a 100, and everybody would learn about it before long.

The incidents between Lin Yiyi and Meng Yan had been talked about online for two months, and Lin Yiyi’s name was finally cleared after her family background had been exposed.

Even so, her topicality still remained high.

From her cooking to her scandals and from her starting her own restaurant to her own film company…
