[Criminal Minds] years before love
Chapter 1 1
"David, would you mind having a drink, I think we need to talk."
David Rossi was stopped by a familiar voice behind him a second before he entered the car door. He glanced down at his watch, "I thought you had been off work for at least an hour, Jason."
"David."
Rossi shook his head, and finally raised his hand to signal, "Get in the car."
Sitting in the passenger seat, Jason Gideon looked at Rossi, who seemed to be driving seriously, completely ignoring his own existence, and the scenery passing by outside the car window. He pondered for a while before opening his mouth, "David..."
"Let's talk about anything." After leaving the monitoring range of the parking lot, Rossi parked the car on the side of the road, waiting for him to continue.
"Even if no one has ever really pursued it, I need to remind you that internal love has always been forbidden." Gideon sighed lightly, hesitant.
"You're going to talk to me about this today?" Rossi frowned. "Seriously?" He glanced at Gideon and swallowed what he wanted to say.
"Someone complained about your unspoken rules as a trainee agent." Gideon continued, staring at him.
Rossi restarted the car without saying a word.
"David! I don't want to act like I'm targeting you." Gideon was pushed down on the back of the chair by inertia, and couldn't help but growl in a low voice.
"Jason, how long have we known each other?" Rossi spoke after a few minutes of silence.
"15 years?" Gideon said the number casually, "almost."
"So after knowing me for 15 years, as an expert in behavioral science, you think I'll be a trainee agent?" Rossi almost laughed angrily.
"Someone else complained to me...I haven't checked with myself yet." Gideon turned his head to look out the window, "David, based on your history, this kind of accusation is not impossible."
"I think he's probably complaining to you about AgentHotchner and not about me." Rossi snorted and cut him off bluntly, "If you're asking if we slept, then yes, I did. He went to bed. But if you want to ask me if I have done him any favors because of this - all the cases Agent Hotchner has been involved with so far are your cases, and you should be very clear that I will not meddle in your cases. Besides, you don't have to Went to him for proof, and I'm sure he won't say a word about it."
"David. Regardless of whether he is involved in your case or not, you know very well that in the end you can decide whether he will stay or not with one word. You can't accuse others of guessing like this."
"That's right, I can indeed make a decision in one sentence - I don't have to stay here anymore if I doubt my boss and colleagues for no reason." Rossi turned the car back to the parking lot.
"I've sent people back." Gideon didn't refute, and continued after a moment of silence, "But David... I'm very optimistic about Aaron Hotchner among this group of newcomers, I just hope you...be careful."
"I know." Rossi turned to look at him and said no more.
Gideon didn't say anything anymore, he couldn't really punish Rossi, and he didn't want to reject a newcomer with quite good ability because of this so-called "internal love affair" that probably wouldn't last long.Just looking at Rossi who was driving the car indifferently beside him, Gideon would also feel that the fact that the two people believed by his colleagues to be at odds is actually true.
It wasn't until he got out of the car that Rossi's voice was heard again, "Jason, so you really think it was all my fault?"
And Gideon really can't answer, he knows all too well that what happened between two people in that dimly lit basement, on those long country roads that would raise yellow dirt, was definitely not anyone's fault .
So he is also very clear that he really has no position to accuse those so-called internal love affairs.
After all, no one knows the charm of David Rossi better than him.
