*1

In the second month after leaving the northern lights, Shaw was tired of walking in the park full of fallen leaves, and the pet dogs of those happy families could no longer arouse her interest in the slightest.

Shaw stood on the bridge, and those people on the lawn seemed to be very close to her, but far away from her.She rubbed the business card in the windbreaker pocket with her fingers, and the edge of the paper was a little sharp.

She realized it was time.

After two missions, a man wearing glasses brought a woman in front of Shaw. He adjusted his glasses habitually and introduced, "This is Root."

Shaw bit a small bun and raised his eyebrows: "What is this for? A blind date?"

Finch didn't blame her for her nonsense, still serious: "You are a sentinel."

Shaw nodded nonchalantly, how obvious it was.He should have known it the first time he saw her.

If he'd watched her more, he'd have known that Shaw had never had a formal guide, but her mental body had been groomed, which of course hadn't happened in a long time.

Shaw turned the button of the white noise device up a notch, and she had really started to feel unbearable, and the oversensitivity of the five senses brought a huge burden to her.

Finch noticed her movements, and from the first moment Shaw joined the team, he knew that Shaw was trapped by this, but as a bonded guide, he couldn't help her in any way.

He pointed to Root and said, "She's the guide."

Shaw took a good look at Root. This woman was slightly taller than her, with an obvious impatient expression. Shaw noticed that she had beautiful hands.

"Very well," Shaw thanked Finch, "thank you for your kindness."

The next second, she pulled out her gun and knocked Root to the ground.

Finch took two steps to the side at the right time, without being swept away by the smoke.

There wasn't a drop of blood on the ground, only some broken parts scattered around Root, which were part of Root a minute ago.

Finch gave Shaw a reproachful look, who, far from being intimidated by the look, just shrugged.

"I don't like androids," Shaw smiled at him. "You know that."

Her resistance didn't work, and three days later, she saw Root again.

Finch didn't show up, only THEMACHINE's electronic voice warned her: "Don't do any more aggressive behavior."

Shaw rolled her eyes helplessly, she didn't want to offend this omniscient and omnipotent artificial intelligence god.

Root walked up to her, looked at her condescendingly, and said with a light smile, "Sweetie—"

She was rarely looked down upon like this.Besides, there was something else in Root's eyes, something that shouldn't be on an android, which made Shaw uncomfortable.

Shaw cut her off: "Don't call me that."

Root let out a pleasant chuckle, and now the android was making Shaw even more upset. The discomfort manifested itself directly in Shaw, who had to crank up the white noise device a notch higher.

After losing her temporary guide and betraying the northern lights, Shaw can clearly feel that her pressure is getting bigger and bigger every day. She's an excellent sentinel, all the more vulnerable because of that.

Root sat down next to her, the sofa was long and wide, but Shaw felt that she was so close to him and shrank back into the sofa.

Root smiled again, reached out to her, and said, "Let me try."

Shaw naturally ignored her, how could he?She only felt a burst of anger rising from her heart, which made her unable to control herself for a while. That's the bad thing about Sentinels, their senses are too sharp.

A snow leopard appeared in the middle of the room, pacing impatiently. It was Shaw's spirit body.

Root glanced at her in surprise, and quickly made a judgment. It's not Shaw's will, it's probably a sign that she's approaching a critical point.

A sentinel who was about to reach a critical point refused her help time and time again, and she knew Shaw in an extra layer.

This person is definitely not as reckless as she appears on the outside, her will is as firm as a rock by the sea, and only the endless waves can erode it.

Root slumped on the sofa, completely taking a rest. She waved to the snow leopard, showed a smile of visiting the zoo, and shouted to the spirit body of a sentinel: "Come here."

Shaw glared at her angrily, she really needed a guide, at least briefly to sort out the barriers, but…

If this person is Root? That's still thankful.

Snow Leopard didn't obey Shaw's order, but walked in Root's direction.

It put its head in Root's palm and rubbed it lightly, showing a kind of gentle docility.

Shaw looked at his mental body, the snow leopard lay on Root's lap, raised his head, and beckoned Root to stroke its head.

Root quickly rolled into a ball with the snow leopard, laughing cheerfully.

Shaw didn't want to talk.In fact, she has nothing to say. During the play between her snow leopard and Root, she really felt a lot lighter. After leaving the Northern Lights, the burden that was on her all day was surprisingly relieved.

She looked at Root, she was sure that this person didn't groom her, she didn't even open the mental barrier, Root was just playing with the snow leopard purely.

Root hugged the snow leopard, sat on the carpet, met her gaze, and said, "You're so cute."

Shaw responded to her compliments in such a furious fashion that she ignored THEMACHINE's warning and drew her gun again.

This time, Root was faster than her, and at the first moment of her movement, Root jumped up and pinned her under him, one hand on her gun.

Root gave her a sweet smile, and said, "Sweetie, we've said it before, no aggressive behavior."

Shaw looked at her, slowly put away the gun, and complained, "The android guide...is weird."

Root patted her hand and said with a smile, "So obedient."
