[FF7][SC] Star Flower
Chapter 32 (2)
. " Sephiroth asked hoarsely.
His face twitched, Rufas raised his head, his mind was clear, and he replied proudly with the coldness he had accumulated over the past 23 years, "But you left me no choice."
A dead silence hung between them.
The broken bones exposed to the air are drying, and the blood is not bleeding much, sticking to the silver hair and drying up in strands. The snake eyes locked on Rufas, and the iris's strange lines flowed slowly. If the gaze could kill, Rufas must be dead. But Rufas faced his almost gushing anger and refused to give in. There was only a dead end to retreat, and even Genesis couldn't keep him.
But suddenly, the anger disappeared without a trace.
A tired blankness appeared on Sephiroth's face, the wings drooped feebly, and the tips rubbed lightly against the ground. The anger wasn't directed at Rufas, Genesis, Vincent, or anyone else, it was despair at his own inadequacy. He no longer looked at Rufas, nor at anything, and became indifferent to everything like an extinguished embers.
"Do to me whatever you want." He said indifferently, "Don't touch him."
Rufas took half a step back in a collapsed state, and stood firm again. He tossed off his coat, let the wind blow through his soaked shirt, and walked around nervously a few times before he calmed down and tossed the rest to Genesis. When he approached the stairs that were almost invisible, several Turks grabbed him behind him, vigilant for possible changes at any time.
Rufas waved his hand, "It's over."
Genesis Reviews. His friend, or a monster.
He opened his mouth, he had a lot to say and a lot of questions to ask.Are you still Sephiroth, why did you become like this, what does it have to do with Cloud, if so... you still want to continue? But in the end, he didn't say anything.Reality is always crueler than works of art, and no matter how many beautiful poems there are, there is no proper line.He watched his wings again, source of fear, symbol of nightmare, hanging dimly at his side.
"You're hurt," Genesis said softly.
"That's not your concern." Sephiroth retorted coldly, "Take me to a lab, a prison, or whatever."
The conversation felt familiar.Genesis didn't immediately remember when it happened, but felt a little familiar; but seeing Sephiroth's resisting look, and the indifference that kept everyone thousands of miles away, he felt as if he had seen... the past of myself.Uncontrolled words blurted out, "If I didn't care, I wouldn't be here."
Sephiroth glanced at him, indifferent.
"I don't want to watch you turn into a monster, Sephiroth." He was a little sad, he didn't understand why things turned out like this, but he clearly knew that he was also a part of contributing to the flames, "I don't want to shoot all the arrows Arrows, shoot monsters, and become the last hero of Loveless Chapter."
"I have never changed." There was sarcasm in the pale blue eyes, "You are the ones who imposed your delusions on me without authorization. But what does that matter? You can praise me, worship me, betray me, hate me, and deny me. I...you can live in your own world as much as you want, as stupid as you can—”
"But I don't want to lose you!" Genesis roared suddenly.
Sephiroth froze.
"I don't know what to do either!" He looked at him sadly, almost overflowing with despair, "Is this the way to go? I want to watch you become another person, a monster, and disappear from our eyes I'm going to lose my friend like this, and there's nothing I can do about it?" He couldn't take it, really couldn't, because he'd seen the future they could have had and didn't get a hold of it Fleeting possibility, "If you are destined to get there, why can't you just stay on the altar and never become like a human!"
He asked again expectantly, expecting a negative answer, "Is there really no other way?"
Sephiroth just shook his head slightly, his expression soft and full of regret.
"I never... never thought... a life without him."
He was still Sephiroth, never changed.Genesis suddenly realized.
It is meaningless to reason with Sephiroth, and I will never be able to convince him.Without Cloud, Sephiroth would go mad, especially when he saw that glimmer of hope that didn't exist. This fact is as unquestionable as the sun rising and setting, and the stars turning and moving. All assumptions are so pale and vulnerable to this iron theorem.
How could there be such a willful guy.
He couldn't help but reach out to him.
The red magic stone lay in the palm of Genesis, he handed it to Sephiroth, and Sephiroth grasped it tightly.
That hand carries the warmth of a human being.
