Chapter 21 Illusion

Sometimes you don't think a person is annoying enough just because you don't know them well enough.

Caesar now regrets his momentary soft-heartedness.He should have left Byrd where he was, instead of letting the red-haired brat stick to his back like a piece of marshmallow.

"Go there, that's the direction of the gate, we should go out and have a look." Byrd pointed out a direction with his hand, commanding triumphantly.

Caesar endured his chattering instructions, rolled his eyes, and then walked there—at least 200 meters away.

"You should lose weight." He reminded coldly.

"I'm just a five-year-old child, I can't weigh much." Byrd emphasized, and secretly reduced his age by two years: "You are too thin, and you don't want magic like you." Destiny is bound to die early, youth is not meant to be wasted like this."

"It won't be used to tangle with a dozen women, and run after my sister's ass."

"Since the surname is Bismarck, it is an insult to the surname not to enjoy life." Bird completely forgot the previous statement "I am still a child", and stated uncomfortably: "There is nothing wrong with liking beautiful women. Life is short and there is no need Live like a monk. As for Levi, I'm happy!"

Caesar snorted disdainfully, then stopped in his tracks. The gate has arrived.

"Come down." After observing carefully, he said.

Bird choked, and pulled Caesar's lock of hair, muttering, "I don't need to be so angry, though."

Caesar grabbed back his hair and explained coldly: "This looks like the edge of the enchantment, I want to break it. I don't know what will happen later, it's inconvenient to carry you behind my back."

Bird had no choice but to climb down reluctantly, tidied up his clothes, rolled up the excess length, and took a few steps back in vain. After making sure that he should be able to run ahead of Caesar in case any strange-shaped monster rushed out there, Bird said, "Alright, let's open the door."

Caesar glanced at him, didn't say anything, but turned to the front, his expression became focused.

Breaking the barrier is a troublesome job. What's worse, they are now in an illusion, and ordinary methods may not work, and those magic tools are not on him now. Obviously Levi Bismarck has no energy to copy everything one by one.But power is power everywhere, Caesar decided to choose a more brutal method. He had never tried this before, so he needed all his attention.

Putting his hand on the handle of the iron door, Caesar closed his eyes and began to feel the flow of magic carefully.

There is energy flowing in any magic circle, just like the blood rushing in the veins. Ebner said that some magic is alive, which gave him a little inspiration: Maybe all forms of magic actually have life.So what he has to do now is to guide the remaining magic elements in the body, enter the opponent's body, smash its flesh and blood, and destroy its center.

Going against the flow direction of those magical energies, Caesar slowly traced upwards to find the heart of the magic circle.

Everything went so smoothly that it was unbelievable, he suddenly opened his eyes and squeezed them hard.Accompanied by a crisp cracking sound, a crack appeared on the door, which quickly spread in all directions, and soon the spider web-like cracks covered the entire gate, turning the once indestructible guardian into a Stacks of scrap metal.

The smoke and dust flew up, Bird was choked and coughed a few times, then he raised his head and saw the opposite scene.

He was ready to run, but his movements froze.Everything was peaceful, but Bird was not happy about it.Because behind the door, there is still a piece of verdant grass, or in other words, it is basically a repetition of the previous scene. They are exactly the same, the two sides are like mirror twins, and the broken iron gate is like a wide open mouth, laughing at the futility of the two.

"If, I mean, if the whole space is like this, will we be trapped to death..." Bird asked with difficulty.

This is an illusion. Although I have already guessed it, the fact that I am completely in the hands of others has been proved, and it is still subtly unpleasant.

Caesar frowned and looked at the newly-appeared manor, but did not answer Bird's question.

After hesitating for a while, he still stepped in.Bird followed closely behind him, for fear of losing him at a corner, and then wandered alone in this endless maze.

"Maybe it's not so bad." Maybe they can find something new here, otherwise Levi is too uncreative.Byrd comforted himself and tried to talk to Caesar, but Caesar just kept walking around.

"Wait a minute." Caesar suddenly stopped.Bird didn't pay attention, and almost bumped into it. Just as he wanted to protest, he heard a sound.

It was a human voice, and it was not far away, very familiar. This moment was more surprising than frightening, no matter who it was, at least it meant that they didn't need to fool around in this empty courtyard.

Byrd quickly tensed his body, swallowed the words, and looked around trying to find the source of the sound.

"Left." Caesar reminded, and then walked decisively in one direction with light movements, then stopped, turned sideways and hid behind a tall white pillar.

Although the structure looks simple from the outside, the manor paid great attention to the artistry of the interior space, which gave them some places to hide.Above their heads is a semicircular vault with intricate patterns painted on it, and beyond the arch is a garden.Transparent and clear spring water gushes out from the marble fountain located in the middle of the garden, and slides down into the pool with green lotus leaves floating underneath, shaded by trees, and a small quiet space is separated between light and dark.On the white and moist stone table, there are two or three pieces of kraft paper and a pot of black tea.Looking from a distance, there are two people sitting beside.

Caesar narrowed his eyes.He had no trouble recognizing one of them—Ebner Bastian.

"Master Bastian, I don't want to watch these things anymore." The little girl pouted and said coquettishly to another person.

"If you really can't memorize it, forget it." Ebner said absent-mindedly, rubbing her head casually. The little girl smiled happily and looked at him with bright eyes.

He was in this unlucky situation looking for Ebner, and that idiot was flirting with a little girl?

Caesar had this unpleasant thought in his mind, and soon realized in disbelief that he was really angry about such an insignificant thing.

Could it be that after only staying with Ebner for a few weeks, his IQ has dropped to the point where he only cares about such utterly boring things?

Caesar pursed his lips, trying to regain the self-control he was proud of.Thankfully, the one behind him, being even angrier, didn't notice his gaffe at all.Byrd tugged on Caesar's hem resentfully, his whole body was furious.

"The two of them are too close!" He lowered his voice and said angrily.

That little girl was Levi Bismarck, and the Bismarck siblings got smaller? Why?

Caesar silently glanced at Byrd, and suddenly thought: Maybe these people, including Byrd, are just illusions woven by that woman...

This conjecture may be absurd, but it is not impossible.

On the other side, Bird's whistling voice made Ebner notice something strange.Turning to the house, he slowly put down the cup in his hand, and smiled with the corner of his mouth raised.

"I thought there was no one else in this place."

Bird was taken aback, he raised his head to look at Caesar, and asked quietly, "Is there still time for me to learn how to meow?"

Caesar's eyelids twitched. He glanced at the red-haired kid speechlessly, and then walked out first.

Anyway, it seems that Levi doesn't want their lives. Now that they are discovered, the worst result is to be thrown back to the original space.Besides, his original purpose was to find Ebner...

"Sit down and have a chat?" Ebner pointed to the empty stone bench next to him and suggested in a friendly manner, with a well-educated appearance, just like treating a stranger who met for the first time.Levi grabbed one of his arms, got closer, and looked straight at Caesar and Bird who came out later with a bit of hostility. But this kind of hostility is the child's alertness to someone who may steal her beloved toy, not the previous chill full of danger.

The situation is very strange. The dangerous person who was confronting each other not long ago turned into an innocent little girl.Levi aside, Ebner also made Caesar feel a clear sense of distance.

Is all this really just a silly illusion?
